Welcome to Elohi, a land that is populated by people who are part beast. What beast they are part of comes from who they are, their personality. The people of Elohi don't know what animal they are until they finish warrior training and go to The Caves, where they emerge connected to their inner animal and have outward indications that show it (ears, tails, wings, etc.). This usually happens at about 16 years old. Elohi itself is separated into regions, 5 to be exact. The forest, desert, shoreline, arctic, and Savannah. The people of these different regions would understandably have animals that pertain to the regions, lions in the Savannah, deer in the Forest, etc.
In the middle, where all the regions meet, there is a great mountain, which hold a great cave, where the leaders of the different regions meet every full moon to plan trade, settle disputes, and keep peace.
