Quiet and logical, Cyrus is that backseat voice of reason in any group. Rather unnoticeable is the fact that he seems to thrive on conflict, danger, and adversity. You’ll never hear him admit he’s scared, though if you do earn his trust you’ll hear the cocky, playful persona that hides within.

Bio/History
Born of a nirvana induced tryst, Benji Philip Carton never knew his father. He spent his early childhood on the streets of New York, cared for enough by his mother to stay alive. That is, until his mother traded him to a drug dealer for more Dust.
The dealer kept Benji around for a few weeks, then grew bored of him like any novelty and tossed him back onto the street. So there he stayed. He joined a gang of thieving teenagers when he was seven, and dabbled in petty crimes for the next couple of years.
When he was ten, Mac McAllister took notice of him. A rising hacker traveling with his sister, Corren, he took Benji in. From Mac he learned about the art of hacking, and it was an instant love.
He spent the next few years living a quieter life, attending highschool with Corren, learning hacking, attempting to help Mac develop Hacker’s Delight. (All right, he didn’t do much actual helping, but he tried.)
Over the years, he and Corren grew to be inseparable friends. She was witty and imaginative, while he was cocky, logical, and utterly fearless. Together, they were those two d*mn teenagers that made the government’s work harder in little but very annoying ways.
That is, until Corren disappeared. It started when Mac found out they had been planning a viral attack on one of MurCORPs smaller offices. As it wasn’t the safest plan, he forbade them from going. In an act of teenage rebellion, Corren told Benji she was going to go alone, in secret. Benji tried to talk her out of it, but by then she was out the window and had disappeared into the night.
Unsure what to do and not wanting to betray confidences, Benji pretended to know nothing of Corren’s disappearance until she had been gone three days. When he broke down and told Mac everything about the plan. They both did all they could, but Corren McAllister was gone without a trace.
After that, Benji changed. He forced himself to grow up, to mature. He paid a force hacker to delete all of his records and give him a new identity. Old enough to support himself, he uses an array of middle men to sell his viruses for the money he needs. Now, he’s Cyrus Michaels, a nobody to the world.
Exactly how he likes it.

Recently, he left the 404s for Grime Protection.
