GENERAL INFORMATION

Role: The Leader's Twin Brother

Gender: Male
Nickname(s)/Alias(es): None that he knows of, but people do call him Max most of the time... Or Weirdo... Oh, and his so-called uncle calls him an ungrateful sonuvabitch all the time
Age: 17
Love Interest: Miss Popular to nada, he doesn't hide it either, well... At least as far as the misfits are concerned. He'd never have the balls to say it to her face, but now that his sister has invited her into their fold, he finally has a chance to tell her how he feels... Of course, he's likely to screw it up, but hey, points for effort right?

APPEARANCE
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 200
Build: He isn't the most built guy, and he has a bit of a gut, but he can handle himself in a fight if he has to. Once he got in a fight with Jack and even managed to get a few good punches in before Jack beat his ass... They've been best friends ever since.
Hair Color & Eye Color: Due to a rare familial mutation, both his eyes and his hair are jet black as opposed to the scarlet and silver enjoyed by the rest of his family. This, along with his relatively pale skin, has led him to have an unnerving effect on many of his fellow students.
Scars/Tattoos/Piercings: He has a couple of scars from when his uncle beat him, but most of the cuts healed properly before they managed to become evidence... He doesn't have any tattoos or peircings. Not that he doesn't like them, he just hasn't thought to get any.
Description: His features are rather regal, like his sisters, yet while her eyes are sharp, his are soft, where she has a sharp, angular chin, his is rounded. In fact, to look at them, you wouldn't realize they were, in fact, twins. However, one of the few common features between them is the bags under their eyes. He cuts his hair short and keeps it combed back out of his face. And his body, while not nearly as muscular as Jack's, is also not nearly as thin as his sister's. He usually wears a dark hoodie over a light blue dress shirt with a purple tie, with dark blue jeans and brown leather shoes. Also, lately his chin has become adorned with a thin layer of stubble, it's just something he's trying out.

MENTALITY
Oddities: He has a habit of talking to himself when he thinks no one is near... He isn't crazy, just thinking out loud, you know, bouncing ideas off of himself. He also plays his ukulele all the time at lunch and if there's a free period, he plays it then too, while his sister accompanies him.
Skills: He is a talented writer, skilled at description and evoking just the right emotions that he wants through his writing. He's also skilled at playing video games.
Likes: Doing anything at all with his sister, Playing his ukulele while she sings, Writing, Drawing (despite his relative lack of skill), Singing with his sister (although his voice isn't nearly as beautiful as hers), Playing video games.

Dislikes: He doesn't just dislike his uncle he hates him with every fiber of his being, it keeps him awake at night, literally. He dislikes staying at home, unless his sister is unable to leave he does whatever he can to stay out as long as possible, but only if his sister is with him.
Hobbies: He enjoys reading, writing, playing video games, and anything else that provides an escape from reality.

Phobia(s): The only thing he is truly afraid of is losing his sister. He will do everything within his power to protect her.
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Personality: Max is the most "normal" out of all those in the misfit crew, in fact if he had the inclination he would probably fit right in with the popular kids in school. He is meticulous in his studies, getting perfect grades, and always strives to look his best. It isn't out of some misguided attempt to "fit in" he does it simply of his own volition. However, the fact of the matter is that he doesn't have any inclination. He is simply too at home with his misfit brothers and sisters. That isn't to say he is anti-social, far from it. He loves meeting new people, and making new friends, and that is precisely why he would feel right at home with those popular kids, provided that they could get over their own prejudices. In fact he made several new friends at Juvie that he probably will keep in touch with now that he's out. He's also one of the few people that Jack is actually nice to... Well, nice is a relative term. The proper term would be, less of an asshole than usual.
While he is nice to most people, there is nothing that he would not do to protect his sister. He is very protective of her, even before their parents died, but especially now. She sleeps with him in his bed, and he stays up as long as he physically can, to make absolutely sure that that monster never touches her again. That's why he is so sleep deprived, and why he is under so much stress. He doesn't resent his sister in the least, in fact she asks him, pleads with him to get some sleep, but he won't, not while that monster is still out there, waiting for the smallest lapse in his watch.

BACKGROUND
Relationship Status: Single
Family: Michaline Walker, Beloved Sister
Kevin Walker, Missed Father
Marian Walker, Beloved Mother
Macon Blige, hated enemy
Personal History:Max and Michaline were born to Kevin and Marian Walker, who were surprised to have had twins. They didn't want any ultrasound or tests, that way it would be a surprise. It was even more of a surprise when they actually came into the world. After all, there is usually some time between each baby when twins are born, but as soon as he came into the world, his sister was right behind him, her little hand wrapped around his leg, and from that moment on, the two were absolutely inseparable.
They were always together as they grew up, doing everything together... Besides personal care of course... They even slept together quite often, especially when Michaline would have nightmares.
When they were seven years old they lost everything... Their parents, their home, everything... What they got instead was a living hell.
It was New Year's Eve, and their parents were on the way to pick them up from their uncle Macon's house, there were a lot of drunks on the road. Their father was reaching for his phone at a red light when a drunk driver dove straight into them, killing their mother and the drunk on impact and putting their father in the hospital. Five days later he died with Michaline's hand in his.

Max and his sister were sent to live with their uncle, a man who, at one point, had been a source of joy in their lives, but had started drinking heavily, became a constant source of terror for them. Even more-so for Michaline, whom he sexually abused since she was twelve. Macon had loved his sister dearly and when she died he couldn't bear it and keep his sanity. So he took his anger out on the twins. He mostly beat them and verbally abused them, but when Michaline turned 12 and hit puberty he would sexually abuse her. Michaline's resemblance of her mother angered him, he told her that she didn't deserve her face
Michaline didn't tell Max about her abuse until one day he found out about it himself and he made a deal with his monstrous uncle to get him to leave his sister alone, and he did. For the first month of high school he left her alone, and Max even felt secure enough to sign up for the school orchestra, playing his guitar... Well he would have preferred his ukulele, but that wasn't an option at school. He had a natural talent for stringed instruments, just like his father. He had also developed an unrequited crush on the cheer captain in school, seeing as she wasn't bitchy like the rest of the cheerleaders, she actually smiled when she passed him in the hallways, and wasn't disgusted when they had to be lab partners. His crush did not go unnoticed by the rest of the misfits, and despite his sisters protests he didn't quit. Finally she just said, and I quote, "Fine, whatever, just promise me you'll use a rubber!"

Things were good for about two years, He had gotten into a fight with one of Michaline's friends, but after that they were almost like brothers... Dysfunctional brothers, but brothers nonetheless. That is, until one day, Max came home early from an Orchestra rehearsal to find Macon taking his pants off. At the sight of Max, Macon was frozen, and at the sight of Macon, something inside Max snapped, and he attacked. He jumped on Macon like a man possessed, slamming his head into the kitchen counter, and knocking him to the ground. He beat Macon's face to a pulp, breaking several bones in his face, cracking three of his ribs, both of his arms, practically pulverizing his groin, and it was only when his sister put her arms around him that he regained his senses. He called the police, and to his outrage they arrested him for beating that monster! He spent a week in juvenile hall where he made quite a few friends, and is currently on probation for his assault of his uncle. His monster of an uncle was still in the hospital when he got out, and he is living at home with his sister without their uncle, and neither one ever visits him. In fact Max only calls the hospital to make sure he isn't dead, so he knows he isn't going to prison. There is currently a police investigation into their family.

So begins...

Ah, it was good to be home! The off-white, oppressive walls that seemed to close in on you wherever you walked, the hot rod red of the lockers which seemed to force you to rush, rush, rush to your next class, and the all-encompassing layer of infuriating teenage angst that seemed to wrap the whole package together. And yet, despite it all, here was this crazy kid, with nothing but a smile on his face and a ukulele in his hands, bopping his way down the hall, in the middle of the hustle and bustle, quite literally going against the crowd. He was simply elated at being back, getting to see all of his friends again. As he walked through the hallway on his way out to the tennis court, he couldn't help but start to play...

"She wears an orchid in her long, dark hair/Her little smile tells me she knows I care/I love to listen when she plays her song/And she can strum so sweetly all day long/Ukulele girl ooooh/You make me smile/Ukulele girl ooooh/You drive me wild/Ukulele girl ooooh/You rock m-"

"SHUT THE FUCK UP! YOU FUCKING FREAK!" Apparently the quarterback and his friends didn't appreciate his happy vibes... Ah no matter, and so he continued singing on his way.

"Love you too bro! Heh heh... Asshole... I saw her sitting on the beach alone/Playing songs about her island home/I moved closer so that I could hear/That ukulele ringing in my ear/Ukulele girl, you make me smile ooooh/Ukulele girl ooooh/You drive me wild/Ukulele girl ooooh/You rock my world/ I asked her if she'd play a song for me/I knew that song would set my spirit free/Could she be an ang-..." He stopped in his tracks upon seeing the most beautiful sight he'd seen in almost two weeks.

Rose Hathaway was standing at her locker, and for the first time that he'd ever seen, she was completely alone. He steeled himself, "Come on Max... You've got this shit... Initiating the conversation is half the battle..." He took a few calming breaths, and stepped forward with his ukulele.

"H-hey there Rose, I couldn't help but notice you standing here alone... Uhm... Eheh... H-how ya doin'?"

She didn't say anything though, she simply nodded, looked away sadly, and walked in the other direction...

"Shit... Smooth one Max... Tch... I guess I'd better go see what my sister's up to..." And with that he took his ukulele, and shuffled off in the direction of the tennis court.

He opened the door to the outside world and was immediately relieved to be free from the oppressiveness of that horrid building. However, he was immediately overcome with renewed stress when he saw Emma standing over his unconscious sister. As soon as he got over the initial shock he sprinted to her side, cradling her head.

"Mickey! Emma, What the fuck's going on here?! And where the fuck is Jack?!"

Rose looked into the mirror that morning in the group home and shook her red hair around her shoulders. Her eyes were droppy and vacant, and her skin was deathly pale. She looked like a ghost on fire. Slipping on her black converse and other grey and black clothing items, she hunched her shoulders and went down the stairs. The other girls had already finished the breakfast, and Rose's stomach had stopped grumbling a long time ago, fed up with the lack of food and deciding that it just wasn't going to complain anymore, since it was no use. Rose was always the odd one out nowadays, even with daily nutrients.

The walkt to school wasn't terrible, but Rose didn't even notice. The cherry trees that she used to love didn't even register in her mind anymore. She remembered swinging on the branches when she was little, and sitting under them for a picnic when she got older. Now, they were just old trees that held forgotten memories. That's how everything was these days, forgotten.

Getting to school, she walked past all of the friends groups that she used to be a part of. The cheerleaders were in their usual place, applying cosmetics and gossiping. They laughed when they saw who she was now, a small red headed freak dressed like death. Getting to her locker, she used every ounce of willpower to open the door and throw her books inside. All she wanted to do was curl up and die, just like her mother. Oh, mommy... She felt tears prick her eyes and she wiped them away hastily. Ever since her mother's death, things had just gone downhill. Niko abandoned her, Parker turned on her, everything crumbled to ruins.

It was then that Max approached her, and she averted her gaze. She didn't want to talk to anyone anymore. She was sick of their "I'm sorries" or their "What happened?" She was sick of everything. "H-hey there Rose, I couldn't help but notice you standing here alone... Uhm... Eheh... H-how ya doin'?" Rose shut her eyes tight to keep back the tears that threatened to flow, and she nodded slightly. She had never been friends with Max, or any of his crew. They had been the people she had laughed at. And now the people she had laughed with were laughing at her instead. If any of her old spark had still remained, she would have said, Karma's a bitch but now she just nodded and walked away, not caring if she didn't answer. She just didn't care anymore.

"Jack what the fuck! You can't just barge into the girl's bathroom like that!" While Jack may not have had any tact or shame, Max did, and that is exactly what kept him from entering the girl's restroom to check on his twin, despite his immense desire to ensure her safety. "Mickey! Jack! What the fuck's going on!"

The bathroom's thick walls cancelled out most sounds from within, and the fact that he was able to recognize his sister's voice was a point of some concern, and his worry got the best of him. He quietly slipped inside, and what he saw was not exactly what he had expected. First of all Jack was staring incredulously at Mickey. Secondly he saw Mickey, hand clamped over her mouth, eyes wider than dinner plates. Finally, he saw Rose, eyes wide, cheeks streaked with tears, and sobbing into her arms.

"Ok, what the hell did I just miss?" He just kept staring at them, alternating between each of their faces, "And don't say 'nothing' like you normally do Mickey, 'nothing' doesn't cause situations like this! 'Nothing' doesn't make you pass out on the tennis court!" He crossed his arms across his ukulele, waiting for whatever lame lie his sister was going to tell. He could always tell when she was going to lie, and he could tell when telling the truth would cause her too much pain. He would let her get away with it for now, but he would demand the truth at a later date.

He was also having a hard time giving his sister his undivided attention, he wanted nothing more than to give Rose a hug and never let go... She just seemed so sad... He couldn't help but keep glancing softly at her, and then going back to staring daggers at Jack and his sister for making him worry so much and not giving him a damn good reason!

Rose peered out of the crook of her arm at the scene that had just unfolded. She had stopped sobbing, and now it was just sniffles as she tried to calm herself down. She looked at Jack, a guy she had thought to be quite the jerkwad before she fell from grace, and shook her head slightly as he told Max, who had suddenly appeared in the room, that Michaline was pregnant. The former her would have laughed and made fun of Michaline for turning into one of those girls. But the new her, the constantly sad and lost her, simply felt the utmost sympathy for Michaline. I mean, Rose was definitely a person who knew what it was like to have your entire world turn upside down in the blink of an eye.

She looked up completely as Michaline rushed out of the room, and as Max tried to touch her, Michaline yelled at him. Poor Michaline... Rose's eyes were filled with sympathy for the young girl, but her voice had already made an appearance today, and all Rose could do was watch her leave. Then, it was just Max and her inside the bathroom and that was...well, Rose didn't really know what that was. Today had already been odd enough for her. Standing slowly, she glanced at Max before walking to the mirror and gazing at her reflection for the second time that day, as if she couldn't even recognize herself.

Her hair was hanging in messy clumps down her shoulders after her falling and crying into it, and her face was red and puffy from the constant tears, echoeing with her washed out eyes still brimming with tears. She bowed her head and sighed, not bothering to act like anything in front of Max. This was who she was now.

"New life is always such a miracle, wouldn't you say?"
"What?" Max was simply confused with what Jack, his best friend besides his sister, sad, I know, had just said to him. During his confusion his sister stood up, hatred burning in her eyes, and when he tried to embrace her, just happy that she was ok, she flinched away, yelling at him, Don't touch me!" Her expression immediately softened as she said, "Just don't, ok?"

Max backed off, "Ok, ok... Just stay safe, alright sis?" and with that she stormed out the door, leaving Max alone with Rose. He watched her as she slowly stood and met his eyes, and all he could manage was a terribly sheepish smile. "Come on Max, it's not like she's some kind of angel... Just because you met her today on the word angel doesn't mean anything... It's just some stupid coincidence..." He looked back at Rose, at her beautiful, fiery, cherry red hair, and in the mirror, he saw her eyes, her beautiful, haunting, honey colored eyes... He sighed, gathering his strength for what he was about to do, and believe you me he was going to need it. He ran his hands through his mop of black hair, and then just tousled it all over again. He straightened his tie, and his hoodie, telling himself to be sure to breathe. This all took a matter of seconds, and when it was over he finally said, "Fuck it."

He strode, less than confidently, over to Rose, wrapped his arms around her in a tender embrace, placed his head on her slender shoulder, and just stood there, holding her for a few seconds that seemed like a blissful eternity. Then, sincerely and for the first time letting down his facade of happy-go-lucky optimism in front of someone other than his sister, he said to her, "I have to go take care of my sister, but... Just, don't give up ok? Life sucks, I know. You feel like you want to die, you feel like everyone's against you, but just know... You're not alone ok? I'm here for you if you want me to be, I care about you, ya' know? I want to see you smile again... Look, I have to go find my sister and make sure she didn't hurt herself or something, but I just wanted you to know, there is still someone who cares..."

With that, he held on for a few seconds more before reluctantly releasing her and starting for the door.

Rose froze as Max came up to her and hugged her, putting his head on her shoulder. She hadn't had physical contact with another person since her mother had died. She felt him breathing, and slowly, ever so slowly, she relaxed and enjoyed the comforting feeling another warm body could bring. "I have to go take care of my sister, but...

Rose let out a breath and shut her eyes against more tears that threatened to fall, not making a sound. Max had just said exactly what she had been feeling. She wondered every morning whether anyone would miss her if she just...never woke up. Would anyone even care? Certaintly not Niko or Parker. They didn't give a damn about her anymore. Rose wasn't even sure if they ever did give a damn about her.

While she was deep in thought, Max let go and started towards the door. Rose took a deep breath and before he could leave, she brought her voice back. "Wait." She looked him in the eye and took another deep, long, breath, before swallowing her tears and stepping forward. "I...I want to help. I want to make sure she...I want to make sure she doesn't turn out like...like me."

"Wait." She looked at and took another deep, long, breath, before stepping forward. "I... I want to help. I want to make sure she... I want to make sure she doesn't turn out like... Like me."

Max looked at her. She really was incredibly beautiful, especially now, she was real right now, none of the facade that he had seen before. He wasn't sure exactly what had happened to her while she was gone, but he knew it must have been jarring to her to get her to revert back to her real self...

Max looked at her, "You say that like you're broken or something, believe me, you're fine just the way you are." Max took her hand, "Come on, Mickey probably headed home. If we hurry we can probably catch up, and I know a few shortcuts that she doesn't so... Let's go!" And so, with Rose in one hand, his ukulele in the other, and a smile on his face he took off in the direction of his shortcut. A shortcut that he immediately regretted taking because, as he had completely forgotten it went right by the football field, where the football team was practicing their freight train impersonations, and where the cheer squad was shaking it's collective ass. Much to the enjoyment of the football team. Rose's distress was not only visible, it was palpable, it saturated the air. He was worried she might freeze up if he didn't get the hell out of there. Oh, and not only that, but a few of the football players had broken off from the main group and were headed straight at him. He knew the quarterback wasn't in on it, these guys weren't bulky enough and the quarterback was talking to the coach, but they were big, they were angry, and he knew he had to think fast.

"Uh, hey Rose, what say we get the fuck outta here?"

"You say that like you're broken or something, believe me, you're fine just the way you are." Rose shook her head, knowing she was broken. She hadn't smiled in weeks, and she couldn't stop crying. This was the most she's talked since her mother died. Just then, Max grabbed her hand. Shocked, she didn't let go and simply stared wide-eyed at him. "Come on, Mickey probably headed home. If we hurry we can probably catch up, and I know a few shortcuts that she doesn't so... Let's go!" She nodded, not trusting herself to speak, and ran with him out of the bathroom.

Until she realized they had come to the football field.

She stopped, halting abruptly, but still not taking her hand out of Max's. At this point, he was the only thing she had to hold on to. She knew the boys that started towards them. They were Niko's right hand men, but Niko hadn't asked them to do this. No, they were doing this because they loved making issues for people, especially her now that they knew she was an easy target. She gulped, looking to Max fearfully and wishing she could just make herself disappear. "Uh, hey Rose, what say we get the fuck outta here?" She nodded, but she didn't know where to go. The football players were coming closer, and she could see the nasty smiles they had on their faces. "Hey, Rose! Got yourself a new boyfriend? Who would ever want you?" One of them shouted and she backed away, looking back and forth between Max and the players. It was obvious she was lost and on the verge of bolting, but she didn't want to after she had told Max she wanted to help Michaline.

"Hey, Rose! Got yourself a new boyfriend? Who would ever want you?" I would... Max turned to see four football players, all of whom were of obviously superior strength, and wasn't scared in the least. As a matter of fact, Max faced them, head on. He squeezed Rose's hand to reassure her that everything would be ok. He then shifted his grip on his ukulele, he had more of them at home. However, before he could knock any of them over the head, the stupid quarterback had to cut them off.

After a brief conversation, of which he heard nothing, they all turned tail and ran. Max, as soon as they were out of sight, relaxed his grip on Rose's hand and breathed a sigh of relief. He hadn't realized how anxious he'd been. He apologized to Rose about his crushing grip, then he tugged her arm, "Hey," he said, "Let's get the fuck outta here."

Two seconds later he was smiling again, looking at her, and then he was off again, in the direction of his home. The only warning that Rose got of his hasty advance was a loud uttering of, "Onward!", before he half dragged her along with him on the road home.

A little ways down the road he turned to her, "Hey, you ok? You kinda froze on me there..."

Rose breathed a sigh of relief as Niko came forward and sent his pack of wolves away. But as she looked at him, looking for any sign of the Niko she had once known, all she saw was a smug look mixed with the disgust she knew was from seeing her. Then he too ran off, and Rose came alive again to look at Max, who was holding his ukelele in a threatening manner. She almost smiled...almost. But then she thought of her mother, lying dead in her grave, and she knew she had no right to be happy when her mother was gone. So the almost smile was wiped from her face, and her eyes were perpetually prickling with tears again.

Suddenly, she was dragged along by Max and she jogged to be able to avoid tripping in the mud and making a bigger fool out of herself. When they had been running for awhile, they slowed and Max turned to her. "Hey, you ok? You kinda froze on me there..." She nodded, looking down. Taking a deep breath, she brought her voice out again. It seemed it was easiest to talk to Max for some reason. "Yeah...yeah, I'm fine. I guess it just...yeah. I'm fine." She nodded, not trusting herself to speak her feelings. Last time, her supposed friends had ditched her and now they laughed at her and tormented her. If people, especially Max, knew how sad she was all of the time, wouldn't he do the same thing?

"Yeah...yeah, I'm fine. I guess it just...yeah. I'm fine." She nodded, then she shut her mouth like a steel trap again. Max looked at her, he obviously didn't believe her, and he wasn't going to give up that easily.

"Come on," He said, taking her arm like the absolute gentleman that he is, "Walk with me, talk with me. Tell me what's up. I'm a great listener you know." He saw the confused look on her face and said, "Well, the thing with my sister, the only reason I didn't press the issue with her is because, well... You see, she has never flinched away from me like that before, that's how I knew she really needed some space. Any other time I would've bugged the fuck out of her 'til she told me, but she really looked like she needed space... So yeah."

They walked a little further, then he smiled at her, then he let the smile fade, "Look, I know you probably don't wanna talk about whatever's bothering you, but I just want you to know that I'm here to talk to you, and that you're welcome to come over to my place whenever, despite what Mickey might say." He smiled again, grinning from ear to ear, "Come on, let's get goin' Mickey usually falls asleep as soon as she gets home, but we can hang out 'til she wakes up if you want, I'll make some food for us, it'll be fun, we'll hang out, watch some t.v. or something, play some video games, whatever you want. Whatcha think?"

"Come on," Max held out his arm and Rose hesitantly put her hand on it, letting him guide her along the path. She'd never been in this situation before. A situation where it was free to tell someone what she was thinking. Even when she was queen bee it was a shaky royalty, and she had to be very careful where she put her step. "Walk with me, talk with me. Tell me what's up. I'm a great listener you know." She looked at him, confused. He hadn't wanted to listen to his sister... "Well, the thing with my sister, the only reason I didn't press the issue with her is because, well... You see, she has never flinched away from me like that before, that's how I knew she really needed some space. Any other time I would've bugged the fuck out of her 'til she told me, but she really looked like she needed space... So yeah."

They kept walking, and Rose bit her lip. She wanted to tell Max everything. She wanted to tell him that she was sad all the time, and how she couldn't eat because her foster-siblings always got to it before she did, and how terrified she was of speaking, and of her past. And especially, especially how much she missed her mom and all of the happiness that came with her being alive. But she just couldn't get the words to come out. She looked at him out of the corner of her eye and saw him smile at her for a second, before developing a serious expression. "Look, I know you probably don't wanna talk about whatever's bothering you," It wasn't that she didn't want to talk about it, it was that she just didn't know how... "But I just want you to know that I'm here to talk to you, and that you're welcome to come over to my place whenever, despite what Mickey might say." There it was, that almost smile. And then the memory, and it was gone. She didn't think she'd ever smile again. "Come on, let's get goin' Mickey usually falls asleep as soon as she gets home, but we can hang out 'til she wakes up if you want, I'll make some food for us, it'll be fun, we'll hang out, watch some t.v. or something, play some video games, whatever you want. Whatcha think?" She thought about it, and realized she hadn't hung out with anybody since she'd dropped to the bottom of the pyramid. Looking at him, she nodded. There were too many emotional thoughts on her mind for her to bring her voice up again without breaking down in sobs right there. She continued walking with Max, wondering if this could be her start to a new beginning and a new smile.

Max couldn't help but smile at Rose as they walked arm in arm down the road toward his home. He never thought in a million years that he'd ever be so lucky as to spend any amount of time with her. Of course, the circumstances were less than ideal for her, he knew. She was the newest social pariah at Jackson High, and with that position came some modicum of, well, pain, both emotional and physical, especially if the change is as sudden and as drastic as hers was. The odds that someone who goes through that would remain completely sane are not very good. Considering all she'd been through over the past couple of weeks, Max thought she was doing really well.

They walked for a while longer before he stopped abruptly in front of a rather impressive mid-sized, three bed, one and a half bathroom, suburban house. He caught her as she stumbled slightly, and smiled before spreading his arms wide with an exclamation of, "Viola!" He took her hand in his and led her inside. The interior was rather bland as Macon didn't care enough to decorate the house, although there was a large and impressive entertainment system in the living room with a very plush couch. The kitchen was well stocked however. Both the entertainment center and the kitchen stocking were thanks to Max, who's many side-jobs provided him ample funds to buy mostly whatever he liked. "Mickey! I'm home! ... Huh... Hey, uh, grab a seat anywhere you want, I'm gonna go check on Mickey real quick, see if she's awake."

He poked his head into her room, not really thinking she'd be in there, but when he checked his own room, only to find it empty, he got a little worried. However, he knew that Macon was in a full body cast somewhere, and he knew Michaline was a big girl. He knew that odds were she was safe. after assuring himself of this fact he went back out into the living room, "Well I suppose she must not be home yet, probly took the long way..." He shrugged, "Oh well. I'm fucking starving, what do you think? Hungry? I'm down to cook whatever you feel like while we wait, you know, provided I have the stuff it needs."

Rose and Max continued walking for a bit before Max stopped abruptly in front of a very nice house. She stumbled, not prepared for the sudden stop, and Max caught her with ease. She straightened and looked up at the house. She felt tears prick her eyes as she realized it was very similar to her old house. That was, all suburban houses were similar, but for some reason this one was more so. Max led her inside by the hand and Rose looked down as if it was a foreign object. That last person who had held her hand was Niko, and at this point Rose didn't even know if that was real. They walked in to the kitchen and Rose looked around. It really was a very nice house, and it looked like it had almost everything in it. Max started calling for his sister and he told her to grab a seat.

Rose looked around for a bit as Max went upstairs and looked for Michaline. She walked into the living room and was awed at the amount of equiptment there was in there. It looked like they were really well off. Taking a look at their games, she saw several of the ones she had had at her house. She ran her fingers over Just Dance and felt more tears prick her eyes and threaten to spill as she remembered the amount of times her and her mother used to play that. They would stay up for hours and just dance as long as they could before passing out. She turned and shook her head to clear the sadness as Max walked back in. "Well I suppose she must not be home yet, probly took the long way..." He shrugged, "Oh well. I'm fucking starving, what do you think? Hungry? I'm down to cook whatever you feel like while we wait, you know, provided I have the stuff it needs."

She shrugged, not really caring. She'd pretty much lost her taste for food since she hadn't had anything except lunch in the school cafeteria for the past few weeks since her foster-sisters always ate it before she could even get a spoonful. I don't even think they know I exist... She thought as she looked back at Max. Clearing her throat, she bit her lip timidly. She wasn't used to people asking her what she wanted, not in a long time anyway. "Um. It doesn't matter to me. Whatever you feel...whatever you want is fine."
