The School Across the Way

OOC/Profiles
Ashiya watched the different colors float across the the campus. Red, anger. Blue, sadness. pink, white, yellow. There were so many of them. Sometimes the colors would overlap. In truth, she was looking at actual people, she was able to see auras with the element of spirit. It was at times she would lose herself in the auras and ignore the people who created them completely, and just see colors. She sighed, as she turned to look at the school across the street, the students there were starting to arrive for their first day. The normal students, who knew nothing about the supernatural, the different people, the completely different world in which they were part of but oblivious to. Sierra High had just opened, and they were sharing dorms, until theirs was built. Though it worried most people that some secret would come out, or something bad would happen, Ashiya wasn't against either of those happening. The secret little world in which she lived, was making her a bit unhappy. But their was always that, what if they don't accept us thought in the back of her mind. In most of their minds. Ashiya, well she was a vampire, and not just a vampire, she was a pureblood what some people would call noble vampire. And nothing was wrong with that, accept unlike most vampires who drank to get hungry, either consuming all a humans blood and killing them, or just a bit and getting satisfied, she also enjoyed it for another reason. Which no one knew of. It was exciting and arousing. As if it was like sex on steroids. She didn't know how to word it differently in her head. But she was the only person who thought of it this way.

Unlike Sierra High, Alamore High had specializations of the magical sort. And was full of different species. Though all of them, appeared human. Alamore also had the learning of what would be a university level in their basic subjects, as there was no college that taught these sujects to so called special students. Alamore High was beautiful though, it appeared as though billions of dollars were spent just on the building and landscaping alone. This was probably because the person who founded the school had the element of earth, and had specializaed in craftsmanship. Alamore's students looked just like your average students, with actual cliques, however they also had ranks. They were not named, but rumors would spread so it would be known. They were known but unspoke of ranks, unless one wanted to boast about it, which was often done. Lastly, there was always a lot of...commotion and sometimes...incidents. Ashiya wondered what Sierra High would be like.

Ashiya let her bag slip off her shoulder and unzipped the front. It was her information, along with her schedule and who she was dorming with. She was specializing in craftsmanship, elemental mastery, and communication. Along with that were all the basic subjects. Because the school was different and had so many topics and different species with different needs, they had a college based schedule. So school wasn't always happening at the same time for everyone. She looked at her dorm mate, Sophia Marie Gonzalez. She raised an eyebrow, wondering what she would be like. Optimistic, she put the paper in the bad and put it over her shoulder again and started walking. As she walked her white dress flowed freely in the breeze. It was cloudy outside, allowing her to wear the dress in the first place, with a slight breeze. Ashiya unlike most vampires was quite tan, due to spray tans, which looked good with the dress. She smiled a bit as she neared the doors.

It was easy to tell which part of the room was hers. It was the back half, the other person having already dibbed the part of the room closest to the door. It gave her the impression that perhaps the other didn't like feeling trapped, chosing the easier exit. That was alright, it meant Imogene was free to hang up her suncatcher in the window. The room was west-facing, it would get good sun in the afternoon. Classes themselves started tomorrow for the Sierra High students and they had the day to unpack and settle in. The dorms were alive with students and parents dropping off, saying goodbye, and unpacking. As far as she was aware all of the people arriving today were from Sierra. The Alamore students were already in residence.

The black clad girl felt a wee bit lost, standing in a half lived in room with a plastic tub of linens, duvet, fitted sheet, pillow case and towels, a suitcase of clothing, a schoolbag of books and a cardboard box of knicknacks and useful items. From the door's left, there was a bed that reached halfway along the wall, and then a wardrobe with a mirror on the inside of the door and one side full of shelves, a built in desk with chair and waste basket, shelves over that and a pinboard in the space between shelf and desktop. There were two powerpoints in under the desk. The same setup was repeated along the other side of the room only with the bed by the window and the desk by the door. There was a thick headboard as well on the beds, with a shelf in it for things like alarm clocks, tissues and photos. Imogene sighed, and decided she'd better get shaking. She'd not seen her roommate yet, a Leslie Jo Meadows, and wondered if she went by Leslie, Jo, Leslie Jo or some other nickname.

Imogene set to things with a will and it took her a very short time to have her elegant and cute clothes neatly folded and hung in the wardobe, dark cosmetics and toiletries arranged on the higher wardobe shelf, Hello Kitty towel on the rack under the window since the one on the back of the door was occupied by her roommate, picture of the family two christmasses ago before Holly had gotten pregnant and tissue packet on the bedhead. She shoved the now empty suitcase on top of the wardrobe and the linen tub on the inside and started making her bed. Once she'd done that, she'd be fully settled in. Staring at the black fabric with a print of small delicate white flowers, Imogene decided that she felt pretty good so far. No screaming, no awkward silences. It was an improvement on home already, she thought as she tucked one reddish brown strand of hair behind her ear.

Selena Katharine Marvel
Finding her room wasn't the problem, unpacking her two suitcases was. After a long, uninteresting summer with her bickering parents, Selena was happy to be back at school, even if it was her final year. Laying on her bed where two large, pink suitcases that held multiple dresses, shrugs, jeans, shorts, skirts, and shirts that would last Selena through-out the year. She had gotten into her dorm room first, unsure of the roommate she'd be sharing the dorm room with, and had chosen the back half of the room. Along with her two suitcases of clothing, Selena had also brought a clear bin that held a lavender bed set, to make her feel more at home. Although getting away from her parents was nice, Selena often missed her beach-view bedroom in San Francisco. The soft sea breeze waking her up on spring days, and the fog that seemed to creep across the bay on those cold winter mornings; she missed all that. She dreamed that one day she could live there without the melodramatic life of her parents, but as of now she was stuck in a boarding school in Orange County.

Rummaging through her bags and suitcases and boxes, Selena finally came to the one marked in black sharpie "Desk Supplies". With a the quick flick of her manicured nail, she tore off the tape and opened the box to find her desktop supplies from home. Selena quickly set them on the desk, counting off silently in her head to make sure she hadn't forgotten anything. Trays for paper projects, pen and pencil holder, tape dispenser, stapler, three-hole punch, phone stand, card holder, laptop stand, and... where's my laptop? Selena sighed and shook her head, nearly ripping open her black schoolbag to find her HP Envy laptop lying in it's protective case. "Thank god." She muttered, grabbing slipping it out of the schoolbag and setting it on the desk. That was one out of many boxes that she needed to unpack before she could go greet friends. This is going to take forever. Selena thought, opening up a box of knickknacks and setting them on a shelf.

Only an hour later Selena was hanging up the last few dresses from her suitcase. Sighing in relief, she slid her boxes and bags under her bed, let down the bed skirt and flopped herself onto her newly made bed. She was tired and that was obvious, she had unloaded many boxes and bag by herself in under and hour and a half without a break. Without another thought, Selena jumped up and opened up her newly filled wardrobe. The clothes she was wearing were far too comfortable to be seen in walking around the campus, instead she picked out a more dramatic outfit, topped off with one of her favorite hats. With a quick look in the mirror, Selena headed out to find old friends and catch up.

Lucas Anthony Peterson
The layout of his office is what attracted Lucas the most, as soon as you walk in there is a sense of openness. The slightly higher ceiling was a medium shade of grey that complimented the dark hues through-out the room nicely. To the left was a corner where beanie bags sat and low lamps hung from the lowered ceiling that held the loft above, this is where the students who came in for extra help or study time would sit and relax while they got what they needed. On the right was a line of dark, mahogany bookshelves that literally lined the walls to the bathroom door. If you were to keep going straight from where you walked in, you'd step down into the middle part of the room where Lucas had set up desks, couches and coffee tables for the students to study at as well. Near the most right corner of the room, the outer wall bulged into a large nook that housed Lucas' dark mahogany desk. With a sigh, Lucas flicked off the main chandiler lights and turned on the paper lamps, which gave off a warm light. He climbed the stairs to his loft, and personal area, just above the in-office library and entryway. There were still suitcases lying on his bed waiting to be unpacked into his open amoire and dresser. Shoving the thought of leaving it till later out of his mind, Lucas got to work unpacking his clothing.

As he finished hanging up his last dress shirt, Lucas sighed and turned to the last box that sat on the bay window seat, open and ready to be unpacked. Inside were his framed photos of his family members onto of a dark green bed set. Mom, He thought as he hung up the framed picture of a beautiful woman with cream colored skin and a very simlar nose. How I miss you. The thought of his parents brought tears to his eyes at times. He had given them so much trouble when he was younger and now he only wished he could take it back. 'Ah but life must go on.' His father would've said. Lucas sighed and finished hanging up his photos, making sure each one was perfectly placed on the wall. With his mind far from where it should be, he stripped his mahogany bed of school bedding and began to spead the first fitted sheet onto his mattress.

Fluffing the rounded pillow before setting it on the bed, Lucas sighed and set his alarm ahead of time for the next morning. He was expected at the Element Mastery class in only fifteen minutes, ready for students to arrive. Wishing he had more time, Lucas jumped off the loft, landing swiftly on the ground, and grabbed his bag from the hanger just beside the door. With a deep breath, he opened the door to the cloud sun light and made his way towards the Element Mastery classroom, not bothering to lock the doors behind him.

Due the over cast weather, the sun didn't shine as bright as it would, and to Lucas, that was a good thing. The walkway towards the Element's building was quiet and peaceful, he wished that he could just stay out there forever. But, class was in only a few short minutes and he had to be there to greet the new students. With a quicker gait, Lucas made it to the Element's building just before the first student came in. "Welcome, I'm Professor Peterson. I'm glad to see a new face at Alamore High."
