Benjamin was born on a small farm in Texas to an Italian immigrant that had served with distinction in the American Civil War and a Tennessee laundress that he had become keen on. He spent many years following the war earning enough money to purchase a tract of land in what he believed was the 'frontier' and saw it as an opportunity to cash in the American dream that he had earned at places called Shiloh, Vicksburg, and Corinth. Once his finances were established and his crop was consistent, his wife bore him the first Rizzo on American soil: Benjamin Frederick Rizzo. As a young boy, Benjamin showed an antsy desire to leave the commonalities and boring flatlands of his home, instead opting to travel west on a grand adventure through raging wilderness and primitive settlement alike. His biggest challenge, however, was the know-how of traversing such a land as the United States without any prior credentials pertaining to adventure. He thusly took the first opportunity to leave his town that was offered, coming in the form of a United States Marine Corps recruiter passing through. To gain skill sets for himself, to forget his home, and to honor his father's service, he enlisted as a Marine and has so far served without reproach. During the invasion of France, he was assigned to the 2nd Marine Division, which was tasked with occupying and securing local settlements against encroaching guerrillas and troublesome remnants of France's former military.
