Racial Hierarchy
Although Queen Mystere had officially abolished it, the old racial Hierarchy of Kan still plays a large role in the daily lives of its denizens. The hierarchy is as follows:

The Nobility: Demons & Noble-born Sanguinarians*

Commoners: (Commoners are further divided into sub-groups)
High: Human-born Sanguinarians & Fae
Mid: Non-Demon Beastfolk, Shapeshifters, Plantfolk, etc.
Low: Wxn & Psychics

Underclass: Mortals and Angels (These groups still face heavy discrimination in Kan.)

Vampires 101 (Psychics)
Psychic 101
These are not the people at sideshows who claim to be able to see the future or talk to ghosts. Psychics are vampires who feed directly on "energy" rather than on blood. Unlike Sanguinarians, their appearance is identical to that of humans, are as tolerant of sunlight as humans, and are commonly for them born into Wxn (immortal humans) families*. They do not have fangs and instead feed using methods that are still not fully understood. Below is a broad categorization of the different Psychic sub-races.

Psy/Pranic: The most numerous of the Psychics. They feed on auras, and are known to lack auras of their own.

Emotional/Empathic: They feed on negative emotional energy.

Tantric: These are the most well known of all Psychic and are known for feeding on sexual energy. They are known to most people as incubi and succubi.

Social: They are the most social of all vampires and feed on social energy.

Elementals: These are Psychics who feed on the energy from one or more of the of the four elements of nature: Water, Earth, Fire, Air. (In other words and Air Elemental can literally feed just by breathing.)

Nature: These are perhaps the most docile of all vampires and have no need to attack humans or any other animals for food. These strange vampires suck the life-energy out of plants.

Magickal: Another unusual Psychic race. These vampires feed on energy in the form of magick.

Dreamscape: These Psychics feed on nightmares and have the strangest feeding method of all vampires. They feed by entering their prey's nightmares in astral form while leaving their own physical bodies behind in a sleep-like state.

Cosmic: These are perhaps the rarest of all vampires. They feed on the energy of the stars themselves.



*In real life psychic vampires are mortal and are born into mortal families. However for this roleplay, psychics are immortal and are often born into Wxn families.



Vampires 101 (Sanguinarians)
Sanguinarians are what most people think when the hear the word "vampire." These are the blood-drinking monsters that have been the stuff of both nightmares and human fascination. Below is a broad categorization of the different Sanguinarian sub-races.

*Please note that for this role-play only "Royals" have the ability to turn humans into vampires.*

Draco: The most common and well known of the Sanguinarian sub-races. They are named after the infamous Count Dracula and are known as the "Noble Vampires." They have retractable fangs, poor tolerance of sunlight, are known for being social, and prefer drinking blood from willing human mortal donors over hunting for prey.

Nosferatu: The second most well known type of Sanguinarian after the Draco. They are known as the "Deformed Vampires" for their monstrous appearance. Unlike most vampires, the Nosferatu are rather solitary beings; their covens tend to be extremely small. They prefer drinking blood from sleeping prey and have been known to sometimes prefer the blood of farm animals over that of human mortals. They are also known for having moderate tolerance to sunlight.

Chiroptera: These are the rarest of the Sanguinarian sub-races and are called the "Bat Vampires" due to their long pointed ears and giant bat wings; they are the ONLY vampires capable of shape-shifting into vampire bats without the aide of magick. Of all vampires, they are the least tolerant of sunlight and perhaps the shyest. While they do well in one-on-one and small-group settings they are known to avoid large groups and crowds.

Sauria: These are known as the "Reptile Vampire" due to the fact that despite their otherwise human appearance ALL of their teeth are sharp and pointed. They are the most social of all Sanguinarians and often possess cheerful and eccentric personalities. They also have moderate tolerance for sunlight and are known to actively socialize and "befriend" prey. However, Sauria are also known for being the cruelest of vampires and are known for their often savage behavior. Unlike other Sanguinarians, Sauria do not simply make bite marks on their prey. They are known for eating their prey's flesh as well, and usually do it while their prey is still ALIVE. (This habit is thankfully starting to die out in Kan.)

Daywalkers: They are the most human-like of all Sanguinarians and the most likely to be born to Wxn (human immortal) parents. They are generally regarded as the least dangerous of Sanguinarians and have the best tolerance for sunlight, being nearly as tolerant of it as humans

* Not every human bitten by a Royal turns into a vampire. It is usually only Wxn bitten by Royals that have any real possibility of turning into vampires because Mortals who are bitten tend to die.

Angels wing colors usually define their hair color. White being the highest ranking of angels among the Council of Angels.
