Charles stood upon a nearby cliff, rocky and jagged, he stared into the distance as the colonists begun settling in.

"And so we begin."

Ayanna approached Charles, attempting to avoid slipping on the lose stones. Moments before being sent on this operation, she had been informed that she needed to report to him- however, she hadn't received much more to go on, not even his name. She had never needed to report to someone, and she wasnt sure what to say.

Just because she could remember anything didn't mean people could give her cryptic directions. She needed details too.

"Excuse me," She began, "An official informed me I was to report to you, but didn't elaborate. Do you know what I should report? I'm supposed to keep a record of everything anyways. Isn't that strange, I'm supposed to keep records and they didn't give me a lot to work on, they just said 'Ayanna, you are an archival specialist now, you will record everything from laws to festivities, keep track of population, yada, yada, all that jazz, just make sure the man over there is at least aware of it or else it won't work, good luck', that isn't nearly enough information to do what I'm supposed to, is it?"

Charles, startled turned around "Oh! Hello! And you are..." for a second he files through his paper book, searching for her name. "Ayanna? The archivist... Right? Anyway, thank you for joining... Unless you were brought here against you will, but anyway, thank you. Get yourself settled in, you are in tent number seventy-three, inside that building over there." Charles motioned towards a large clutch of broken down buildings with tents inhabiting them. "Here, take this book," He hands over a medium sized empty book with the word "NOTES" written on it. "Hope you enjoy... Take care," he says before needing to bark at the weapons specialists playing headhunter with each other.

Ayanna looked at the Notebook. An item that was essentially useless to her, but since most didn't possess flawless memory, she could see why this was necessary. She reached into her sleeve, pulling out a pen.

The pen wasn't hers. When she was registering she withheld it from the officers who had escorted her and sorted her papers. They laughed when she stared blankly at the sheets and pen. Yes, she knew how to read and write, she just never really had a need for it the last few years, as those had been spent in simulations to test how much they could endure under high levels of stress and hell. Moreover, all documents had usually been handled by...well, her handler.

They didn't deserve their pen back. Not like they could have.

She looked over at the specialists Charles snapped at, and tilted her head. It's the first day, people need to be sorted, register problems and be informed of who they need to approach for their needs, not cause a scene. Are there any- no, this is different, they wouldn't need to monitor everyone to tranquilize them if they act up, that certainly wasn't the case before I became Ayanna. I guess this is how trouble is handled... "How strange," she muttered to herself before heading over to the buildings she had been motioned to.
