Setting
Robins words hit her like a fog, cloudy and rolling, pulling her from her internal struggle. Her appearance was still quite shaken it appears as Dante swooped down over her, though his words were just as foggy to her. The world seemed to be moving in slow motion, passing by her. The feeling was...new...and terrifying.
....I can't let this ruin our time....I won't be...that girl...
Almost in an instant her vision cleared and her hearing returned, her quaking heart slowed in her chest. Dante was warm against her, as she reached up and put her arms around him, burying her face in his neck for comfort.
"...I'm fine, really...he was just a little...creepy that's all..." As she stood she reached out and took Robin's hand, clutching Dante's in her other. Chuckling she lied, "Creepy human pedophile..." The moment was awkward, but sufficed, "Let's go, do something else...I only get to be human for a day ya know!" As she pulled the boys toward the Ferris wheel in the distance.
Though she appeared calm, in the back of her mind he ate away at her...and she couldn't help but feel it was just the beginning.
Robin gazed up at the ominous ferris wheel and shivered holding his teddy bear tightly.
"You guys go ahead. Sorry but there is no way I'm going on that wheel of death." He had no explanation for why he hated ferris wheels. As a child he enjoyed them and then when he was 11 he went on one... and he cried... a lot. He had no idea why he had cried but every time since whenever he went on a big wheel he would feel terrified and would cry buckets. It was weird but he didn't care besides ferris wheels were boring.
"I'm going to get a hot dog. You guys have fun," he called over his shoulder as he ran to the hotdog stand. Robin remembered something and quickly sprinted back to Bella and Dante and thrust a couple of bills into Dante's hands. As an afterthought he stood on his tiptoes and gave him a peck on the cheek.
"Be safe," he whispered before taking off back in the direction of hotdogs.
"I'm never safe." Dante whispered to himself before turning to Belle again. Smiling a large, friendly smile he boomed. "Well lead the way my little angel, we're never going to have this opurtunity ever again." While he began walking slightly ahead of her towards the ferris wheel
She caught Robin press a kiss to Dante and a bit of annoyance gripped her, then a smile. It was pleasant feeling something other than fear. Soon Robin walked off and Dante returned his attention to her, ...where it should be... she brooded for a second.
"Well lead the way my little angel, we're never going to have this opurtunity ever again."
She took his hand as they approached the ride, and slipped into a bright yellow carriage. It moved mechanically underneath them as she peered over the edge, turning back to Dante and grinning. "It's so big, I can't wait to get to the top!" Though she wasn't supposed to, she stood at the door and looked out over the scenery. It was like flying, but without the exhaustion. The ride jerk, as they allowed other's on. The movement caused her to lose balance as she stumbled, falling across Dante's lap. Blushing she looked up at him, "Sorry Dante!"
A pale face with huge red lips and frizzy orange hair.
"WAAAH!" Robin screamed.
"Hey buddy! That's a cute teddy bear you got there," said the friendly clown.
"Get away from me you crazy son of a bitch," Robin yelled taking off into the crowd. He knocked over several people in his hurry to get away from the creepy circus freak. Panting he hid in the shadow of a gamestand. Ever since he was little Robin had been petrified of clowns and even with a gun in his pants he still didn't feel brave next to one.
Robin looked around, the coast was clear and no clowns lurked nearby. The ferris wheel was still in sight and he gingerly headed towards it, keeping an eye out for creepy c;owns and completely missing the suspicious looking people dressed in old Victorian style clothing. Robin sat on a bench hugging his bear tightly.
Today's been quite an emotional day he laughed in his head.
In her human form, her body was naturally cold...and though he was in his human form his skin still burned a little hotter. THe warmth was comforting, and send chills down her spine He's going to kiss me! the thought shot through her mind, and across her face. At first she was overjoyed, but insecurity set in as she remembered her current form. Though her arms were small, and weak she pushed him away a bit, and turned her gaze away, though she still allowed him to embrace her. Her words were soft, and quite possibly unheard over the creaks of the ride as they reached the top. The ride stopped, allowing more passengers on below. For the moment they were stopped in time.
"Dante...why do you want to kiss me right now? Tell me," she asked coyly, hoping that the playfulness in her tone would get her some answers, and wuite possibly satisfy ehr desire for a compliment or too. Mostly she hoped to satisy the beast, the jeaolousy that possibly her only wanted her for teh sweet form she took now.
The little half angel had pushed him away as his face moved closer to hers, the touch of her flesh against his chilling. He felt a little taken back at this action and frowned slightly not really knowing what to say, cocking his head to one side he began to examine her more, her lacy black dress almost flowed around her daint little body, along with her long pale coloured hair and those blue eyes of hers were shining in the light like gems, he still missed her natural red colour though. Her eyes are memorising when they're their natural shade and I miss her wings, I don't care what she thinks about them, I think they were beautiful, Dante was too busy gazing at her to notice how the ride had stopped. "Dante...why do you want to kiss me right now? Tell me," Her voice a playful tune, causing the devil boy to smile as he answered the little angel. "Would you believe me if I said that I'm drawn to you." He started, still holding her in his arms, "I don't really know how to explain, when I see you I don't see a child that most people will, I see.... Well the only way that I can put it is the angel part." He had a slight frown across his face, annoyed how he couldn't think of a sufficent way to explain himself. A thought suddenly sprang to his mind. "Why don't you want me to kiss you now?"
She chuckled at the remark, liting her hand to his cheek once more, and gazing into his eyes. As she ran ehr fingers across her chest, her hand touched the ivory locket around his neck. It was cold, almost as cold as her touch. For some reason it looked familiar, but she tossed teh thought aside. She had seen Dante wear it every day since she met him, of course it looked familiar. Passing ehr hand over the locket she carressed his neck,
"You know that nobody must know? Not even Robin, okay?" Her lips were so close, but lingers just far enough away.
Her chuckle made him smile again, he loved the sound of her voice it was...well... like an angel's, she lifted her hand to his cheek and despite it's icy feeling he found it rather comfating. Her fingers began to slide down his chest causing chills down his spine and his smile widened, he fail to notice her hand rest on his locket for a moment as it moved to caress his neck. "You know that nobody must know? Not even Robin, okay?" She whispered softly to him. "Not a word." He replied as her lips lingered just out of his reach. Should I kiss her? I want to but what about that little comment? He quickly shook this thought from his head as he gave in and brought his lips to hers in a passionate kiss.
His lips her surprisingly warm against hers, as she leaned into his embrace. The ride began to move once more, but she barley noticed. All the scould think of was his flicking tounge and how joyful eh was she wasn't hurting him. though she felt he desired more, it was innocent. His hands stayed true and respectful of her small, childish frame. Once day, she hoped the could embrace like this once mroe. Before they knew it they had reached the bottom, as the ride swung sto a stop. She pushed him away softly. wishing his lips didn't have to leave hers, Gazing around she looked for any signs of Robin, praying he had not seen in teh carriage as the attendant swung it open.
"Ah well hello young Dante it's been too long since we last met, we all miss you but more importantly, your mother misses you." The voice was low and menace filled every word and Dante almost dropped dead there and then. It was his old mentor, who had taught him everything about how to hunt rogue paranormals but despite all his knowledge and skill there was something he could not pass on to the devil boy, the man's sadist nature. The man infront of him seemed all polite and gentleman like but just under the surface of his chivalry was a blood thirsty creature who loved to inflict pain and misery on his targets, often torturing his victim, making them beg for death before giving them that final relief from his actions. The man smiled at Dante's terrified silence, his red tinted glasses reflecting the sun making it seem like he had two crimson coloured disks for eyes, while the boy who couldn't be much older than Dante merely carried on sneering at them. "So this is the famous Dante I've heard all about, you were suppose to be some sort of warrior priest protege right?" He mocked. "Well I'm the new protege now and I have to say I'm not that impressed really." He spat on the floor just short of Dante's boots.
Dante was still silent, paralysed with fear, not knowing how they had found him but neither was he surprised that they did, his old mentor could find the most crafty of rogues and Dante was far from crafty, he had been careless. What are you doing!?! Run!!! He screamed in his head which was just the kick in his arse that he needed, he turned to Belle, his eyes betraying his inhumane fear that gripped him. "Run." It came out as a whisper but it was all he could muster, grabbing her cool hand, he sprinted towards away from the hunters almost dragging the little angel who seemed to be struggling to keep up with his pace.
It's him...
After a what seemed like an eternity of running they stopped, as they hid in a small, dark space. It was so tight that they were inched from each other, face to face, as they panted for breath. Human bodies were nothing compared to their immortal ones, and it was evident to Bella that they were in something deep.
Panting, she looked into Dante's eyes. The terror she felt was visible in her eyes, "Dante...that was him...the man that spoke to me.......He knows I'm an angel."
She feared for Robin, and begged Dante, "Dante please, what's going on? Where is Robin?"
His eyes spotted movement coming towards them and to his horror it was them. Quickly drawing Faith, he muttered a short prayer as he aimed it towards the two men. "Now, now Dante. Let's be civilised here, we wouldn't want your little angel friend to end up getting hurt as well as you. Do we?" His old mentor said, a twisted grin upon his face, drawing his own gun, a rather impressive weapon very similar in appearance to Dante's. "Let's get this over with." The younger man said, drawing out an even more impressive double barreled revolver. It was two against one and Dante could feel a cold bead of sweet drip down his forehead, he knew ther odds of winning were slim but he wasn't about to role over and die like some dog. "Belle, get out of here, find Robin and just run ok?" It was a command not a question, he didn't want her to get hurt.
The two men gave a quick glance at each other smirking at each other as though they knew a joke no-one else did. Then without warning they chased after Robin's friends. Robin started running and ended up spilling popcorn everywhere. He had no where to put it and randomly shoved into a little girl's hands along with the bear Dante had won him.
"Look after these for me," he said seriously before taking off in pursuit. Luckily the man in red was easy to follow and Robin quickly tracked them down to a alleyway. Dante had his gun out standing protectively in front of Bella, they were trapped. The two men had guns pointed at the Dante.
He's outmatched Robin thought. He hid around the corner trying to catch his breath as quietly as possible. His heart was beating rapidly one from the running and two just from sheer panic.
What should I do? he wondered. He remembered that he had Sceptisism in his waist band. He carefully pulled it out and took off the safety.
