Setting
The streets and buildings of Parm are constructed largely of stainless steel and other sturdy metals, and power is generated mostly by windmills, water mills, and steam engines. Gas lamps line the streets and shine brightly at night. A tall metal wall surrounds the city to protect it from beasts and other unwelcome guests, and the main gate is sealed tightly after the sun sets.
The town is separated into North and South sections by the stream that flows through the various water mills. North Parm is the residential sector where most of the residents live. South Parm is the gateway to the ship docks, and is also home to restaurants, inns, shops, and museums. Some notable buildings include the National Museum of Parm (with one of the largest collections of Angelonian relics in all of Elencia), the Singing Gull Restaurant and Inn (serving the best grub in Parm), the Train Station (with the most sophisticated steam engine in Old Elencia), and the Mayor's Mansion.
Parm is known for an abundance of seagulls. The weather in Parm is mild, with rain coming down from the Grand Sky mountain range every now and then, particularly during the summer months.
