Appearance: Rio is of average build for her height, her hair is blue and her eyes are golder-yellow. She wears a black hoodie, similar in styling to an Organization XIII cloak, she usually has the sleeves rolled up. Underneath the jacket she sports a formfitting yellow T shirt with a slight V neck. Her hands are covered by black fingerless gloves that cover up to just her wrist. From the waist down she wears a pair of faded blue jeans that are just a little too long for her, so cuffs them at the bottom. She wears slender black tennis shoes. Rio also wears her ear buds which are connected to the mp3 player in her pocket.

Rio's open, friendly, and genuine kindness make most people feel at ease around her. Those who get to know her could tell you that she is a total music freak...seriously, music has a big impact on her life. She can tell you the names of most songs after only hearing them for a few seconds. She likes to play guitar whenever possible. Rio is constantly jotting down new song ideas in her notepad.
Rio is generally a "go with the flow" kind of person, but when she makes up her mind about something, good luck trying to change it. She likes to think of herself as one of the good guys, considering how she goes around and kills heartless. Her biggest motivation is to travel to other worlds and see the sights.

Equipment
Weapon: Giant maul (for those who don't know what that is, its like a giant hammer.)
The maul stands five feet tall, including the head. The handle is colored black and blue in a downward spiral, while the head is stone colored. There are music notes embedded on either side of the head. Its similar to a keyblade in the sense that it can be summoned out of thin air, however it does not have any of the powers a keyblade does.
Equipment: Notepad and pen. Mp3 player and ear buds.
Spells: Fire, Thunder, Blizzard, and Cure. Although she can use all three elements, she prefers to use Ice magic.
Techniques:
Flaming burst: The mauls head in enchanted with fire, causing scorching flames to dance around the head, when the attack connects the fire is released upon the opponent.
Thundering strike: Rio channels the power of thunder into the mauls head, causing it to spark to life and arc with electricity, when the attach connects it unleashes a devastating power on the enemy.
Frost mallet: Rio lets the power of blizzard flow into her maul, causing the head to ice over and make the maul much larger, if the attack connects the ice shatters and leaves the foe dazed.
History
Rio grew up in Traverse Town with her parents, her home world was devoured by the heartless when she was still a baby. Her mother filled her childhood with stories of other worlds that were scattered through the night sky. At age nine her father taught her how to play the guitar, she used her mother's stories as early inspiration.
She had no real problems growing up aside from the periodic heartless attacks, they made her feel powerless and that bugged her. When she turned thirteen she learned that she had the power to fight back when she accidentally froze a heartless that was attacking her. Shortly afterward Leon and his gang took interest in Rio and extended an offer to train her.
After two years of training Rio had become a force to be reckoned with, Rio was able to cast fire, thunder, blizzard and cure, as well as summon her maul. From Leon she learned how to be a proper melee fighter. From Aerith she learned how to control and strengthen her magic. Lastly, from Yuffie she learned to be more agile and to refine her reflexes. She picked up the habit of listening to music during combat, meaning whenever she cast spells she subconsciously cast to the beat of the music.
When she was fifteen a boy named Sora mysteriously appeared in town. Right away Rio knew he was from another world. She pestered the poor boy with almost nonstop questions. Once she got the answers she wanted she offered to help him find Riku and Kairi. Her knowledge of Traverse Towns layout proved to be a great help. Unfortunately they didn't find Sora's friends, rather they found Donald and Goofy. That was where Rio split ways with Sora.
A while had passed and Rio moved to Hallow Bastion along with Leon, the gang, and her parents, to help restore the world. A year has passed since then and Rio is now sixteen. One day, while out for a walk, she found a letter on the ground. She promptly opened and read it. What the letter had to say touched her deeply and brought her an overwhelming sense of motivation. Rio knew that she had to find "the tower above the station."
