KIT COOPER
Gender: Female
Element/Type of Magic: Fire is her element, she specializes in healing powers. If she is injured, she can concentrate on the wound and sometimes, a healing flame will engulf the wound, making it heal much more quickly. Kit finds it somewhat easier to do on other people, but it is still unreliable to heal every time. Plus, on others, it takes longer for it to heal. As opposed to approximately thirty seconds on Kit, it takes around two minutes on others.
Sometimes, her powers will flare up, and cause her to be so hot to the touch, it'll burn someone to touch her. This also causes her to be very ill, with headaches, dizziness, chills, and eventually passing out. Flare-ups happen most often when she feels like she has no control over a situation currently at hand.
Weapon: None preferred, because she is very weak and hopes not to fight in the first place.
Height: Around five feet tall
Weight: Around 75 pounds.
Appearance: Kit wears an eye patch over her blue eye, leaving her red eye exposed. Her hair is short, black, and very well-kept, except for a single cowlick she can't get to stay down. For makeup, she wears red lip gloss and some light foundation to make her skin look even paler than it already is. She is very slender and has a boyish figure, which is a reason she is typically mistaken for younger than she is. Physically, she is very frail. Also, she has several bruises along her legs and arms that she covers with makeup.
Likes: Kit really loves white chocolate, visual art of any kind (drawings, paintings, pottery, sketches, etc.), campfires, incense (specifically frankincense and rose incense), and being wrapped up in a blanket.
Dislikes: Kit simply hates cold showers, math, banana-flavored candy, potatoes, and most salty foods.
Flaws: She tends to dwell on the past and cringe at her mistakes, as opposed to moving forward and not making the same choices that led to the problems of the past.
Kit isn't good at comforting people; she can't ever think of the right words to say.
Kit also has the flaw of tripping on the ground a lot, so she has a lot of bruises.
Talents: Kit is very sensitive to those around her, and will try to lend a hand to those who need it.
She is good at listening, which helps her on tests.
Also, Kit has a very strong moral compass. If she feels something she will do/is doing isn’t right from a ethical standpoint, she will say so, and refuse to do it.
Fears: Kit fears dying and not being remembered after a few years. If she's going to die someday, she wants to make a meaningful contribution to the world.
Bio: Kit had very odd parents. They were scientists who were constantly experimenting with things that had to do with Kit, like how her diet changed her behavior, which new toys she played with more, even whether different blankets made her sleep longer. In a way, they viewed Kit as a miniature test subject.
Once, while running around the house when she was six, she slipped and scraped her knee. Before her parents could get over to her, a white flame was on her knee and within a few seconds, it was healed.
Of course, the scientists thought they were beginning to see things. After a while, though, they realized they weren’t, as they had asked their daughter what happened, and Kit said she saw the fire on her knee and felt a slight tingle as the fire went away, taking the wound with it. She also began to go play outside more, saying she was with “Jazzy”, but the researchers couldn’t see the being (if any) she was playing with.
Cornering her, the parents began to do tests to see her mental well-being, but everything turned out normal by the end of round one. The second round began, and Kit tried to escape, but she was quickly caught by her father. He promptly dropped her as she began to overheat to the point his hands gained blisters after putting her on the floor.
As the parents searched for answers to the incidents, they stumbled upon the word “Magni”, and realized that was probably what she was after extensive research. At this time, she was twelve. A representative from Liuena Academy confirmed that Kit was a Magni after their daughter was seen by the person. Luckily, their daughter had fallen down the stairs, and the representative saw the healing in action.
All the evidence pointed to her being something more than human, so despite the science pointing against such a thing being real, they sent her to the academy.
JAZZ
Gender: Male
Element/Type of Magic: Fire is his element, and he mostly has heat manipulation, meaning he can manipulate the air around him to be warmer. Jazz doesn’t typically come out, so it’s hard to say what his other powers are.
Appearance: Jazz is a deep orangeish-red bird with a black crow’s beak. He is about raven-sized. He appears to have no other form, but he doesn’t appear often.
Dislikes: He appears to dislike the sound of running water.
Flaws: Well, he doesn’t talk, so no one but Kit can tell what he’s thinking or about to do.
He often pecks at people who come near Kit.
Talents: Jazz seems to be a good listener(?).
Fears: Dogs are a big fear, but he also appears to be scared of being abandoned, as shown with some clingy behaviors towards Kit.
Bio: He started hanging out around Kit when she was six, and even she hasn’t heard him speak. She just kind of knows his emotions in her mind, and knew his name. Often, when she’d see him, he would just sit there and seem to listen to Kit complain about parents and boys.[/center]
