Hayden

A sharp rapping on her door rose Hayden from her slumber. Glancing at her clock, she grumbled. 9:12. She stood up and rubbed her eyes; incessant rapping yet continued. Sleepily, Hayden made her way to the door of her suite, and opened it while yawning. A redheaded girl stared back at her, a slight shock on her face upon seeing Hayden like this. Hayden looked at her questioningly. The girl spoke her name and rank, but stumbled over the words and Hayden didn't pay attention to them. Then she put something into Hayden's hands while quickly explaining what had happened. Hayden read over the letter, taking the words in as a blur, but catching one: Raenin. Suddenly, Hayden was awake.

"Jace Bel-" The soldier was cut off by Hayden.

"Meet at the Sigil? Yes, I know. It better not be freezing when I get there..." She stepped back into her room, quickly doing her makeup and getting ready hastily as she shouted to the soldier. "What did Jace order you to do?" A loud crash sounded from the bathroom. "Shit. Nevermind. Just go tell the others." Hayden finished getting ready and returned to the door. "Watch out for..." The soldier was gone. "Vlad..." Hayden sighed, then reached for her .45, and holstered it.

She made her way to the Sigil, stopping at the various mirrors and shiny surfaces to fix her hair, until she reached the door. She touched her hand to the scanner, and the door slid open, revealing Jace. The cool interior wafted out and struck Hayden, a California girl, and she shuddered. She took her seat and said nothing to Jace, though she kept stealing glances at him.

Catherine Alest

“Well we have training in the morning for the 8, 9, and 10 Clubs, as usual
I know it’s early but I figured I’d run or something, get targets ready considering accuracy is a big point in today’s training regimen. Will you be joining us?” Catherine asked this and spoke generally with a light smile.

A small curiosity built inside her, and again, this might have happened because of the weird feeling, she hoped she was getting from her hangover, about today. Catherine had never sparred the King before, though they had trained and gone on missions together. They'd been through critical situations like Raenin’s first revolution attempt. She’d seen him fight but now wondered whether she could take him, if not for a few rounds then at least one. Of course she knew that if she was more powerful than him, she’d be a Queen, an elite soldier like himself. But that didn’t mean Catherine was curious as well as willing to learn from him.

Sunrise found Moira Spade leaning on the back of the chair with her long legs placed on the office desk, one across the other. The sun’s rays were reflecting on her black shoes, making them shine even brighter than they already were due to the polish.

It would have suited the woman to have a long cigarette between her slender fingers, like “les femmes fatales” from the ‘40s, but Moira never smoked. She cherished her health more than that. The Queen of Spades had her office and her personal chambers on the 13th floor of the Spire building, at no.13. A rather odd option for a higher-up such as herself, because she was supposed to get one of the apartments from one of the high floors. She chose 13 as her lucky number since she was five and learned how to count..to 100 that time. Of course, her parents never sought to check on her intellect or to encourage any kind of activities that would enrich the mind of a genius. Actually Moira was never one to begin with, but she was brighter than most and had a “thing” for information. Her outstanding memory helped her as well and that is how she came this far, 22 years later, a SUIT that reached the Queen position.

She was lost in thought, holding a file in the right hand and some other pieces of paper scattered across her desk. A picture of a man laid on top, his blonde hair covering a part of his grey eyes.
“A little too handsome for a an outlaw.” Moira thought looking at the former King of Spades who brought quite an uproar within the Hierarchy before his escape. It was her top priority to find his whereabouts and make sure that he was brought to justice in front of the current Aces. The Queen of Spades had little to do with justice or any other form of morality as the humans saw it. She just loved to do her job well, as close to perfection as possible and using everything from the most meaningless details to the most important information.
One of her eyes and ears from the top floor entered her room after asking permission. He related to her about a low rank female being dragged by two undead soldiers inside the building. This made her raise an eyebrow.

So something must be up since the Phantom of the Opera is so pissed. Moira thought, using the nick-name given to Vladimir Tappaja, the Ace of Spades because of his constantly hidden face. There was surely a way to find out what happened, but she had to act quick.

She followed the man to where he saw the red-headed girl last time. There was no doubt about it, an horrible fate awaited her. If she was still alive after she left Vladimir’s quarters, that was a good sign, but time was not on her or on Moira’s side either. She rushed toward one of the many training rooms of the Spire. This was the one in which the undead soldiers were usually trained.
Dragging her long black dress behind her, Moira entered the basement of the building. The foul stench made her place a hand over her nose. The ones in charge with the training were wearing masks and special suits to keep them from touching the new-living bodies.

“You, there!” she pointed at one of the trainers. Where are the new-comers?
The man showed her an entrance. The moment she entered the room, the red-headed girl was already placed on the table, her hands and feet tied with leather straps. Moira approached her and looked right into her teary eyes.

“Please, let me go, I promise no one will ever see me again!” she pleaded, her voice weakened from crying and shouting.

“Shhh...tell me now, why are you here?” Moira said wipping a tear from her cheeks with her finger.

“I only delivered a letter...to the Aces...I swear I had nothing to do with the traitor..please, please let me go!”
“Traitor?” Moira asked licking her finger. It was salty.

“Rainen, the former King of Spades.” It was the second time that day Moira came across the name.

“Thank you girl” she said caressing her hair.

Moira left the room, the girl’s shouts and pleads echoing behind her. This time, she knew exactly what there was to be done.

Lex Ashford

"I'm awake! I didn't break it this time!"

Lex woke up with a start, sweating and panting. The sun was streaming in from the canopy and the birds were calling. It couldn't have been later than 10:00 AM. Lex wiped the sweat off his brow and tried to get his bearings. He moved around from day to day so he had to make sure he knew where he was before even thinking about traveling elsewhere. He scanned the nearby grounds for any signs of predators or "breakfast." Then raising his head into the canopy he searched for any fruit or nuts. Seeing no threats or food, he relaxed and dropped his head into his hands.

"My god. I don't think I can handle these dreams anymore. They're getting more and more realistic." Lex's dream was about his family. The family that he had, so long ago, left behind to become the "man" that he was today.

"Now why do my legs feel so stiff?" he thought. He looked down and saw that everything below the waist had become oak.

"Urgh! Why do you do this to me?" he groaned. Bending his legs tentatively, he began to see the humor in the situation. "This brings a whole new meaning to morning wood." Laughing, he packed up his bag and stomped out the fire carefully trying not to light himself on fire. "Maybe I can find someone to follow into the city. I've been low on food anyways and the plants aren't having much luck growing fruit." He pat himself off and stretched before seeing a bird fly from the direction of the city.

"That's the first bird I've seen in days!" Breaking into a sprint, Lex picked up a stone and began chasing after the bird, already planning on making breakfast.

"Come here birdy! I'm a nice guy! I just want to eat you!" he shouted, throwing his stone at the bird.

Lex Ashford

The bright neon sign blinded Lex when he first saw it. The bright pink flash disoriented him for a second and he managed to walk right into one of the diner's windows, scaring the patrons on the other side. Apologizing, he walked through the door Raenin had opened and was lead to a booth in the back. He heard that Raenin mention that everything was on him.

"Well in that case don't mind if I do." said Lex, before cracking open the menu and muttering to himself about what he wanted. Raenin was looking at something when the bell dinged, signaling that someone had walked in but Lex was completely oblivious to it, being too distracted by the choices on the menu. As soon as he figured out exactly what he wanted, he waved at a nearby waitress and saw two men standing in the middle of the diner but disregarded them and began ordering.

"I'd like a dozen pancakes, half a dozen eggs scrambled, three slices of ham, a dozen slices of french toast, and a gallon of orange juice. Oh! And bacon! A big plate of bacon. You guys don't serve pigeon here do you? Wait. Never mind don't answer that question. And... Yeah that's it. What are you having Raenin?" The waitress had a look of disbelief on her face and asked if that was all for just him and Lex replied, "Yeah that's just for me. Why wouldn't it be?"

Lex was rather unaccustomed to the city and as such didn't have the same guidelines and etiquettes but he ignored everyone and decided to just enjoy the free breakfast.

Nicolas
"Keep your guard up, we're not as....alone as I would have liked."
Dmitri whispered to Nick.
Nicks eyes widened for just a second before he smiled behind his mask and clapped Dimitri on the shoulder. While chatting meaningless bull to his friend Nick did a quick scan of the area to see what Dimitri was talking about, noting seemed out of order until he noticed the blonde man sitting in a table at the back... damn. Nick had seen the man enough to know who he was even without his signature white coat, it was Rainen. "Oh look at that can!" Nicolas exclaimed as he groped the nearest waiter. She promptly spun around and slapped him. This restaurant being what it was, it wasn't unusual for the women to be harassed and there were certain rules against it. A big man who had been sitting in the corner stood up and walked towards Dimitri and Nick. "Dammit Nick!" the man exclaimed "I told you to quit messin with the girls last time you were here, you know the rules; no touching allowed in the restaurant." Nick raised his eyebrows at the big man "Oh come on Jerry, I barley even touched her" Jerry squinted his eyes at Nick and pointed at the door. "Out Nick and you cant come back for a month, you know the rule, youve broken it enough times." Nick sighed and held up his hands in defeat. "Ok big man I understand. I didn't want to eat here anyways." Nick said as he tugged Dimitri to the door way taking them both outside. He stopped ten feet away from the entrance to the restaurant and looked at Dimitri. "It was to dangerous staying in there, if a fight broke out innocents may have died. So please tell me that that wasn't who I thought it was and that I just got kicked out of my favorite restaurant for no reason. Cause if it was him then the shit is about to hit the fan..". Some one was always getting kicked out of the restaurant and Nick figured that if they had turned around and marched right out after seeing Rainen then it would have raised the mans suspicious, but if they got kicked out because Nick was trying to have fun with the ladies which happened more than it should, well hopefully Rainen would believe that they had left to find breakfast else where.

Catherine Alest

"What a weird woman... yeah Maxus just start helping me set up targets."
She sighed, still looking off into Moira's direction as she pulled open a trunk. Catherine really didn't understand the Face women higher than her. Most of them wore the most uncomfortable looking clothing, and walked around with their butts and noses in the air like they had a pole stuck up their asses. It freaked Catherine out. And not to mention, Moira was also a Spade, a different thing to be freaked out by all together.

The trunk contained small packages, almost metal-looking boxes, with red buttons on the tops of them. She ran out a ways onto the field, and when seeing Natalie she made sure to wave a little, she placed them down in a strategic line and pattern and pressed each button, different proportioned targets popping up out of the boxes almost magically. She thanked the Diamonds every day for their amazing ability to provide them such technological advances... because really, what could she do? Break stuff?

"Test one to make sure it closes properly?" Catherine laughed a little to Maxus, considering when you hit the target with a mortal blow it closed right back up again. She wanted to really get an eye at the way Maxus would approach and non-chalantly attack the target, for now Cat was hoping for a duel with him before the day was done.

Megoritte Defronza’

Megoritte’s laughter could be heard from outside the Sigil as she left because she had seen pieces of Hayden’s thoughts.

As she glided to her room, she adjusted her hair a little, and in entering the elevator she adjusted her makeup in the glass walls. The meeting had gone interestingly, and she figured she’d ask Vlad who he would pick for the spy assignment at a later hour. Meg, when exiting the room, had figured if Vlad decided to have a spy sent out that he would want to decide who it would be, and she didn’t really care.

Upon entering her room, the cold air tickled her skin and she let a real, honest smile hit her face. When Megoritte really smiled, it was not the thin line that curved slightly upwards; it wasn’t that pretend smile she used on everyone in the Hierarchy. Her upper teeth gleamed a little in the sunlight, and the left side of her lip lifted higher than the right by just a little. The small imperfection was an interesting sight on such an un-human creature like Megoritte. In fact, it made her seem mortal
 almost.

The Ace slid off her shoes and went to the closet, stripping off her robe and tossing it onto her bed, which was now all nice and orderly (it had been made by the staff after she’d left). She lifted the clear red beads that stood between her and her gowns, and walked up to her suit. The liquid steel suit, a brilliant silver color in the light coming from the closet’s window to the right, was positioned at the center of her walk-in closet. A fitful position, considering it was one of her most prized possessions. She took it down and slid it on, the suit ending at her ankles and wrists, but covering her neck. Megoritte then shifted her weight to her other heel, turning to the section of gowns that were simple but vivid in color.

Coming out of her closet, Megoritte’s hair was half up in a fishtail braid that laid over the rest of her curls. The dress she’d picked out was a silver gown that sleeked down her legs and up her torso. The top of it ended around her neck, closed in with no neck line but it had no sleeves what so ever. From beside her closet she grasped her sword from where it hung and sheathed it at her back beneath her dress, into the steel suit. The red ribbon at the end of the katana wrapped around her neck like usual, as if it had a mind of its own. She was putting on her usual red heels and gloves when she heard a familiar Ace’s whisper getting louder, closer.

”Come in, Jace
” Megoritte muttered, opening the door and watching him closely. To Jace, she was only wearing a silver gown, and the katana’s ribbon was a simple decoration, a choker. Because he was an Ace, of course he’d seen her in battle and knew better, but she tricked his eye just the same as everyone else. “Close it on your way in.” the woman added as she walked over to her favorite love seat, settling down and taking up a small candy that sat on the table in the center of her seating area. Around this area, her love seat against the back wall. The table of glass in the shape of a heart was right in front of said loveseat, and a couple more deep red chairs were to her left, a single couch on her right. With her usual wistful carelessness, she gestured over to a seat, but then sharply met his eyes with a cold but content face.

”What business do you have?”

Moira, Queen of Spades

It took Moira about twenty minutes to get changed. For the very first time in the last months she didn’t choose a dress and settled for leather pants and a dark blue t-shirt. With regret, she had to leave high heels and slip into something more practical. She tied her hair on one side in braids, which made her look younger and less intimidating. Stepping out of the Spire, she had time to check her phone one more time before getting into the car.

“Brown eyes, grey hair, about 18 years old, wears a hat and leather jacket. Spotted on 23rd corner with 7th 40 minutes ago with the silver-haired man.” It said in the email. Five minutes and four blocks later, the phone beeped again. “Lucy’s Diner, thirty minutes ago. The silver-haired man went outside to meet two persons.” Moira ordered the driver to take a right turn without speeding up..yet. “Received a call from Jackie, the warehouse by the docks, ten minutes ago. It could be the same guy, but she’s not sure, couldn’t see his face ‘cause of the food.” This made Moira raise an eyebrow, but ordered the driver to speed up toward the docks and email her contact to send two men over there. It was more than enough for a brat. She just hoped he was the one they've been looking for all along.

"My Queen, we've identified the silver haired man. It's the former King of Diamonds, Rainen Exillis. Two men from the Spire are with him now, trying to bring him into custody. We only have Jack on the spot. Waiting your oders."

Do not interfere. Tell Jack to stay put and write up a report. I need all the descriptions. She had no idea who the men from the Spire were, but she doubted that they were any of the Aces. If the fight would last more than two minutes, then that meant they were part of the Faces. Few SUITS, even from the Spire could stand against Rainen.

The black C6 Corvette pulled over in front of the large warehouse. Moira wondered if the kid ran away from home, maybe he was the rebellious type. Or maybe he had a drug addiction and this is were he got his stuff. She didn’t actually care as long as he was conscious.
The two men sent by her contact arrived five minutes earlier. They didn’t even have to force an entry, the door was already unlocked. One of them remained on the ground floor while the other went to search upstairs. He found Lex waiting there, matching the description. This had to be him. The tall man in the grey suit approached him.

“Come with me, boy! We’ll take you to meet some nice people.” He said in a natural tone, obviously there was no need for violence. Moira always hand-picked her men, making sure they had both the intellect and the strength to work for her. Mindless brutes, all brawn without brain never suited her style.

Moira, Queen of Spades
The man in the grey suit gave a half smile. He didn’t want to learn the kid’s name, it was better off he didn’t knew much about him to burden his conscience. He liked working for Moira, she wasn’t as bad as the other Faces, but she worked for the Aces. And the Aces were...well, things like mercy and justice – the right kind – never suited them. Some of them were just gruesome and the man hoped this kid, Lex Ashford –damn, he already learned the name – had nothing to do with the Aces.

“This isn’t a picnic, kid. We’ll let you come back to your breakfast in a short while. For now I recommend you come with me.” The man said sternly. He didn’t really like to repeat himself. Just to let the kid know that being a smartass would only make it worst for him, he held his right hand up. The arm got longer and longer, twisting as it went up in a spiral, looking like it was made from rubber.
“We can take a walk, or I can drag you there.” He replied, not having much patience left in his body.

In another part of the same district, Jack Seer was watching a quite interesting display of power. All he needed was some popcorn to make the experience just right. So the one who can make himself disappear is Rainen. he thought We have someone controling the wind, and an electrokinetist, both male, same height, about 5' Jack wrote down everything he could see or guess from a safe distance, without being seen himself. Raenin last words echoed in his brain along with the determined look in the man's eyes.

" The Hierarchy is dead!" Jack wrote... "Replaced by the Totalitarian Regime we have now."..every word of the conversation was pinned down on paper. Heavy words that had more power than Rainen's dispersion abilities. Jack made sure to mail Rainen's little speech in that moment. He knew what they meant and if things went further the same way as they had until now, a Civil War was about to start. If it hasn't already.

Moira, Queen of Spades

Moira received Jack’s email just before she stepped into the warehouse. Rainen’s words only proved her theories, that a rebellion was about to start within the Hierarchy. She walked upstairs using her stealth abilities, making herself invisible. She passed by her agent in the grey suit and stepped behind Lex Ashford, watching his every move. “Though kid.” she thought and a smile brightened her pale face.

Her agent did his work just as she wanted: natural and intimidating, but the kid wasn’t easily impressed. She made herself visible about the same time Rainen clinged to the window outside of the building. She opened her cherry red lips to speak when the kid replied to the man.

"I highly doubt you guys would let me come back. Anyways I'm a big fan of not going anywhere. So I guess what I'm saying is... Come at me bro!" he said and jumped out the window.
Moira thought she’d seen the former King of Diamonds outside for a brief moment before he dispersed again, just when Lex Ashford flew out in a twirl of scattered glass. Moira Spade had no time , nor will for playing such games. She jumped right behind him, touching the ground graceful like a feline and headed for the car. Running after a teenager wasn’t fit for a Queen. She ordered the driver to follow the boy and the car passed by him only to stop sideways a few feet in front of him.

What Lex would see in the next second was the black door of the car opening in front of him and a milky white arm pulling him inside. Moira closed the car door and ordered the driver to go a few laps around town.

“My, my, aren’t you playing hard to get, candy boy.” Moira said in a teasing tone. Her voice was charming, her red eyes sparkled with content. Fate’s thread started to spin.
“I apologize for taking you into...custody like this, but it was necessary in order to keep you safe. Yes, boy, I am not talking in metaphors, you’ll soon see that we’re actually the good guys. Well, at least I am.” She smiled without mischief and bid him to sit comfortable.

“You see, my name is Moira Spade, I am Queen of Spades, a position you certainly heard of within the Hierarchy. I’m not saying this to intimidate you, I merely want to make a point. I happen to know that you are part of Rainen’s men...which isn’t a crime in my book, but it certainly is in front of the Aces. You do know about the Aces, I suppose.” She looked straight at him, trying to figure out what he was thinking. What Rainen was thinking when he recruited such a young man. Did he even told him what he signed up for, or did he took advantage of a confused teenager who had no idea what a rebellion implied?

“All that I ask of you is to sent him a message. In return, he will give you a reply which I desire to get from you as well. Not much work, now is it?” She didn’t wait for him to agree.

“Tell Rainen this: Moira, the Queen of Spades has the task to find and bring him in front of the Aces. However, she will do everything in her power not to find him as long as he agrees to an alliance. He wants a world where humans and suits live in peace? I can help him acquire it. I won’t ask for much in return.” She looked in front, holding her breath for a moment.
“I won’t hold it against you if you refuse, but refusing is not an option. Other Faces saw you with him at the restaurant and they won’t be as understanding as I am and I can give you and Rainen protection. A greater protection than he can even imagine. What do you say Lex Ashford, do we have a deal?” she said turning her eyes toward him.

Megoritte Defronza'

A soft, honest laugh escaped Megoritte as she listened to him, also touching the snowflakes around her mixed with her glittery illusion. "I will help you, Jace, but do not think of it as me following you." and then she stopped smiling so widely and looked at him, her face almost freezing over with a thin layer of ice.

"What do the others want?... have you asked?" But of course Megoritte new this answer, he hadn't.

Now the Ace was looking at a loyalty concern. The thought of her Suit along with the others ruling over the entre human race... and not even in a cruel way but in a just way, with her Suits at the top and them on the bottom, but all of them at least comfortable. But what about the other Aces? She knew Vlad's tendencies, and Hayden was the controlling sort but... didn't they have their own ideas? Their own plans close to this but certainly not the same? Megoritte had not tried in the past to pry at their minds for information when she heard those slight words and phrases... but now she was wishing she'd perhaps paid more attention?

"Tell me the next steps, and what exactly my role is." She sighed, cutting off her illusion and sitting back down. She gestured again for him to sit, they were partners now, weren't they?

Kite Tiede

Another 30 minutes or so. Kite thought as he looked at the island looming in the distance. He was driving a speed boat headed directly for the hierarchy and he was accompanied by his only partner Rain a girl one year younger than him that had an ability that he could not pass up and with her help Kite had hoped that he could continue with his goal, well at least the part that she knew about. As far as Rain knew she was just helping Kite eliminate the Hierarchy but his true motive was to kill each and every suit no matter their age, gender or race.

“Don’t worry Rain we are almost there only a couple more minutes.” Kite shouted fairly loudly over the wind and the crashing of waves against the boat. He looked down to his left where Rain was curled up into a little ball with her head pressed down into her knees and chest. The poor girl had a severe fear of drowning and Kite was trying to do his best to keep Rain from literally having a heart attack from fear but all he could do was lie to keep her calm and he may not have been doing the best job at it.

“Besides you don’t have to worry about anything unless we crash on something. And besides we have life jackets so we won’t drown. Then all we have to worry about are sharks. So we’ll be fine don’t worry Rain!” Kite continued trying to keep her calm with rationalizations thought Kite didn’t realize that Rain probably wasn’t thinking rationally at the moment.

Rain K. Rommel

"Hmm. Yes we will have to find some food for you then." Rain lit up, quickly forgetting her previous fear. She moved lightly to Kite's side. "Let’s go Rain we will find something up ahead." She followed him, ecstatic and imagining luxury food; fried chicken, tuna sandwich, a hamburger. She would eat like a Queen.

In a few minutes, she was drawn from her trance by Kite's voice.
"Are you ready Rain?" She looked around for a moment. They were standing in front of a house in a secluded section of a residential area. Peering though the window, there were two Suits who looked like they were not very powerful. Rain was just beginning to understand what would happen.

"Ready, Kite."

He opened the door, and moved in. Before anyone could react, the two people were engulfed in Kite's fire, burning them to death before they could even rise from their chairs. Rain clenched her fists. She didn't like what Kite was doing, but knew it was necessary. After all, they couldn't just walk into the nearest diner and order a fine dinner. They had neither money nor the looks of belonging on the island, so they'd have to make due. "Kite..." she said softly behind him. Despite how much she liked him, his cold attitude with killing scared her, and she worried for him. She followed him in, and hugged him from behind. Letting go, she realized they'd likely need to clear the rest of the house. She nodded to him, and proceeded up the stairs.

Reaching the top, she felt the involuntary part of her SUIT kick in. She began to feel another heartbeat nearby, and tensed up. She cautiously stepped to the upper level, and peered down the hallway. Seeing nothing, she followed it slowly. The heartbeat got more pronounced as well as faster. She neared the end, and stopped, readying herself. In a quick step she turned the corner, and was met with a ball of water to the face. She was pushed back, and in a panic reached out with her powers. In a second, her assailant's blood began to fill his lungs, and before he could muster a second blast of water, was drowned in his own blood. Rain wiped her eyes to see, only to realize she had them shut tight. Opening them, she laid eyes on her assailant.

Before her lay the fresh corpse of a young girl of about 15. Blood trailed from her mouth and nose, and her body was still warm. Her eyes looked up blankly as music trailed from her room.
Changing to your point of view.
Fading as I follow you.

Rain fell to her knees beside the girl. Her eyes started to water as tears welled up.

A boyish notion of false emotion.
These words are spoken, despite my love.

"Kite!" She shouted through sobs. "Kite!"

A fool's devotion was set in motion.
My eyes are open now...

Her thoughts raced. She was so young. So beautiful, and now she's dead because I was hungry! Stupid Rain! Stupid!

It's a glass cage so I can't pretend.
You hide beneath the physical.

Why did this happen? I'm so foolish."I'm so worthless..." She sniffled.

I see it coming but I can't defend.
You cut so deep, my belief is gone.

She looked up through tears.
"Kite?"

Moira, Queen of Spades

Moira chuckled. Her laughter was rather intimidating.
“You have humor. I like that.” She ordered the driver to stop and she bid Lex to leave the car. “We’ll talk again, give my regards to Rainen.”
She was eager to let him go as her phone started beeping again. She doubted he was the best choice for a messenger, what he had to deliver were hardly newspapers, but he was the only one available at the moment.

The two are heading for the Spire. Jack. the short message informed her about their action, but not about their identity. It didn’t matter, she got what she came for. The Corvette pulled somewhere near the Spire’s back entrance and Moira headed for her chambers. One of Vladimir’s “friends” was waiting for her outside the room, on the hallway and she could see some scratches on the door knob. Apparently he took his master’s order “enter or stand outside” literaly and tried to accomplish his task both ways.

Moira shuddered, the smell was just all over the place. The man had a note in his stretched hand. A single “yes” was written on it. This made Moira happy, but in a way she did not expect. It was almost as if...Impossible she thought and a half smile brightened her pale visage.

Entering her own room, the Queen of Spades untied her ebony hair and changed into a simple black dress, letting herself go, falling on the bed. The events from that day were exhausting. What she wanted more than anything was to talk with Megoritte, but she knew that would have to wait. Moira grabbed her phone.

“Yeah, Don, it’s me. Please fill in a marriage licence and deliver it to the Ace of Spades at the Spire. Yes, write just that for the courier. First name: Vladimir Tappaja. Second name: Moira Spade. No joke Don, I’m getting married. ”

******

Two hours and a good nap later, Moira opened her eyes only to see the white ceiling from above. She felt refreshed, brand new, full of vitality. New horizons were opening for her and for the first time in the last year she could afford to daydream like a normal SUIT. Nevertheless, her twisted mind couldn’t stop from plotting and analyzing every step. She knew there was not a thing certain in the world and her own journey just began.
There is one more thing I have to do before I can relax she thought and called one of the lower suits in her office, a ten of spades. The man was lean and young, without being particulary handsome.
“Find the King of Clubs, Maxus Ekklesia and tell him to choose a place and a time suitable for him. There is something we have to discuss.”

Nicolas

"Yeah right behind you" Nick said as he took off to catch up with Dimitri giving the taxi cab one last look.Wonder what their waiting for he thought. This whole situation is complete bull Nick thought as he walked beside Dimitri. They got kicked out of his favorite restaurant, attacked by Rainen, and now they have to go and tell the aces that they failed to capture the man.... this was just not a good day. "Who knows" Nick said with a cocky grin "maybe lady luck will give a debonair man like me the attention I deserve and help us out of this jam" The train station was just up ahead, it would take them to the aces and whatever fate had in store for them.

Rain K. Rommel

Rain's cheeks reddened as Kite moved towards her. She looked sheepishly to the side, averting her gaze. Apparently, Kite was not interested in cereal. Who was, when getting this close? Was Kite making a move, being romantic? Rain put her hands up, mere centimeters between them and his chest. She felt Kite's hand on her chin, and let him lift her face up. She looked into his eyes.

"Rain
you’re right. You are weak and useless person when alone."
She almost pulled away and started crying again. When Kite said things like this, it made her feel so useless. She did everything to try and impress Kite, and she still failed. Rain didn't want anything more than to kiss him right now. She felt his hand move to her cheek, caressing it as he spoke again, and she held her breath in.
"But
you are not alone Rain. And when you are with me you are not weak or useless, and you won’t ever be alone."

The breath she was keeping was taken away. Kite always knew just what to say. Rain knew she could rely on him, and she was glad. In a quick move, she wrapped her arms around Kite, hugging him around the neck. She stood on the tips of her toes and buried her head next to his. Her heart beat faster; Kite meant so much to her; and in her excitement, her powers extended themselves. She synced Kite's pulse to her own, speeding it up significantly. She only hugged him tighter.

The feel of Kite's pulse was like a drug to her. It was so calming, and Rain loved to feel it's steady flow. After a moment she removed herself from him, and traced her hand down his arm. Their hands touched, and she couldn't help but instill a noticeable warmth in his blood as she left him.

"I promise it won't happen again, Kite. I promise to be strong."
She reached up and wiped the remainder of her tears, offering a cute smile.
"Lets eat, huh?"

Catherine Alest

"Sounds like a plan."
Catherine smirked and waited for the rest of the numbers to clear away from the training field. She side glanced and noticed Natalie, but only saw a displeasured stature and not how she coddled her hand.

"So I propose a challenge, whoever to pin the other first is the victor, not too much cutting up of one another, we do have missions to attend to throughout the day." Ms. Alest made the point of their duties and then backed away from him towards the center of the grounds. A few tens stayed to watch their higher-ups fight one another, some knowing one day they would try to take their positions themselves, though others were just curious.

Catherine smiled and assumed a defensive position.
