The story of a peasant girl who won her place in high society through love and personal virtue was enchanting to a lonely, home schooled six year old.

Rika's closet had always been filled with clothes picked out by Mama. A wealthy lifestyle left the girl never wanting for money, a plethora of talented tutors made grades no trouble at all. The biggest thing the ten year old ever had to work for was her individuality. It was easy to just be like Mama; it was hard to try to find 'Rika'.
