Physical DescriptionCharity is tall and slim, with a slim, athletic figure. She has short, slightly curly pale blond hair and big, dark blue-green eyes. She has full lips and high cheekbones and even when she's not smiling, her heart-shaped mouth looks like she is. She dresses mostly in jeans and band shirts and her style can be described as comfy-casual or tomboyish.
PersonalityCharity is tough. She is able to handle a lot of things and usually looks out for herself and doesn't let people close to her. Of course, all of this is covered up with a smile and friendly, sarcastic nature. She is usually joking around about things and doesn't talk much about herself, keeping people at an arms length distance. She doesn't care what people think of her and can be extremely stubborn when it comes to being told what to do.
Historical BackgroundCharity was born in Los Angeles, California. Her dad left when she was eight and her mother taught her that all men don't really care about you unless they want sex. Growing up in a very poor neighborhood with a stripper as a mother, Charity was made fun of a lot in school. This led to her developing depression. After being forced to visit a therapist by her older brother when she was sixteen, they diagnosed her with depression and she has been on antidepressants ever since. It completely changed her attitude, making her have more energy and actually go out and participate in life. But people called her crazy for the sudden change in attitude she had.
But one boy didn't think she was crazy. Marcus was someone Charity had a few classes with, but she didn't know much about him and they had never talked before. But when they finally did, Charity fell head over heels in love with him. They dated for a while, but it wasn't until they had been dating five months that he started hitting her. At first, he just said he had a lot to deal with and he was sorry. But then he started blaming her. She thought he would stop after some time, but he ended up not stopping. It was after she ended up in the hospital with bruised ribs, a broken arm, and cuts all over her face that she finally decided to leave him, but it wasn't that easy. He wouldn't let her go and he would destroy any and all relationships she had. So she did the only thing she thought she could... She died her hair, cut it, and moved across the country. Now living in Brooklyn, she is working as a barista and at a diner while trying to make it as a singer and songwriter. No one knows her past here and she is hoping to forget it all and move on.
