"Ha, not at all," Tony smiled. "It's comforting. I do the same." He couldn't put a label on the way that he felt at that moment. Relief? Comfort? Or maybe it had been something else. "Some of the best times I have are reading a book or watching TV alone." Tony paused a moment. "Well, maybe it's the only times I've had, for a long time at least."

"Yeah... I'm not going to cheat him out of a hook up. I'll ugh... wait by the car." Something sticky was on his lips. He wiped it off with a sleeve. Red lipstick. He shook his head.

"Uh... yeah." Tony looked to Maya and shook his head. "I'm not very popular in that department." He laughed lightly. "How about you? What are you doing home all by yourself? Don't take this the wrong way, but you're one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen..." he trailed off, heat pouring onto his face.

Cam welcomed the glass of whiskey. "Happiness is only temporary," he said more to himself than anyone. He downed half the drink, the heat hitting his throat imminently. It felt good.

Tony reluctantly looked up at the large building behind Maya. He didn't want the night to end and he certainly didn't want Maya to leave. "Well, maybe we can go get lunch tomorrow? I'll pay," Tony offered hopefully.

"I'll drink to that," Cam raised his glass and then downed the rest of the drink. His eyes traveled upwards towards the bartender. "You have a very gloomy outlook on life, I must say."

Tony smiled after her, caught in his own world. He literally felt as if he were suspended above all of this watching it happen. Hopefully he wouldn't screw it up. It already felt too good to be real. He felt too happy. With his heart still racing, he made his way back to the club on a cloud.

"And what do you drink?" Cam tested. Just as he had spoken Tony stepped through the door. Cam spun around to see him, still smiling like a complete idiot. "Have fun?"

"Yeah, uh, ready to go?"

Tony laughed lightly. "Of course and if you don't, my number's on her phone."

"Great, now that you have a sex partner, my night is officially complete." Cam stood up from his seat at the bar. He set signed a check and was about to set it on the table, but thought against it and held it to Angel. "Ugh... here. I have no idea how much I drank so... this should cover it."

He turned and followed Tony out the club.

Cam chuckled as the door closed behind him.

"What was that about?" Tony asked, a smile still planted on his tanned face. Cam simply shook his head.

There was a knock on the door, making the quiet house echo. After a few more knocks, Cam opened his eyes. Cursing under his breath, he struggled out of bed and stepped to the front door and opened it. Brian was on the other side of the door, holding a Tupperware. "What's that?" Cam asked as he eyed the dish.

"Uh, lasagna! Koko wanted me to bring some over for you."

Cam turned around and walked to the living room, leaving the door open so Brian could follow. Cam slouched on the couch and Brian watched him, his arms crossed. "You have to work tonight?"

"You bet."

"Be careful..."

"Thanks."

Brian let himself back out the front door. Cam had a feeling that Koko had sent him over. It was her idea of 'helping' him. She must not understand that he loved his solitude.

"Uh... there's not really much to tell," Tony smiled at Maya. "I grew up in Rhode Island, only child, went into business school." He raised his eyebrows at his own story. "I guess I'm not that fascinating."

Everything was dark aside from a light. The weapon felt heavy in his hands. After that all he saw were images and sounds; her screaming in pain, the world falling beneath him, and the red, red blood spilling onto the cherry oak floor.

Cam sat bolt up right in bed, hot with fever. He managed to carry himself to the bathroom where he ran the shower. Striping down, his body felt colder than usual. The water was a relief on his hot skin.

"I don't know. I've always liked... dealing, making profit." He shook his head. "My dad owned a business once. It dealt with stocks and stuff. I guess I grew up wanting to be him," he shrugged. "See? Nothing too special."
_____________
He stepped out of the shower, droplets of water hitting the floor. He got dressed in a suit, shaved, and brushed his teeth. By the end, he didn't even look like Cameron Hills.

"What was it like growing up there? I've never been." Tony hunched over the table so he could hear her better. "Does everyone wear cowboy hates and go to rodeos instead of baseball games?"

Cam hopped into his midnight blue escort and backed up out of the driveway. He kept thinking of his dream. It wasn't good that he was remembering it again. He had to stuff it deep inside him. It would mess him up tonight and he needed his sanity tonight. He needed to be a killer tonight.

Tony listened intently of another life. It was a beautiful life and he had no problem believing it belonged to Maya. He could see it in her eyes, the longing she had for the place. "It sounds... like a completely other world. I wish I could see it sometime."

He pulled up to a large building, maybe 30 floors high. Or larger even. He parked his car and made his way into the building. The elevator ride to the 15th floor seemed never ending and he wasn't surprised to see Savaya with her arms crossed over her chest as she sit in her office. "You're late."

"Yeah..." Cam trailed off, but said nothing.

"What's wrong?" She stood from her seat behind her desk and stepped towards him. She rested a hand on his shoulder.

"Nothing. You called me here early. Why?"

"Uh... and I'll just have a burger, medium rare." His brown eyes found Maya's. "What's so special here?" He asked

"Because you have a new target," Savaya said, her eyes casting down for a split second and then a smile appearing on her face. "Here," she handed him a few files. "Anthony Shire is no longer a concern. He's taken care of. You need to find and kill Charlie Beckette. And that's all."

"And where will I find him?" Cam asked.

"Oh... home. Charlie works morning shift and should be home at around 7:30. The house is at 22 and Bleaker street. Town house 376." Cam nodded and before he could turn to exit, Savaya grabbed his shoulder.

"Don't disappoint, Cam. Remember what I can take from you."

"Oh, you don't have to remind me," he whispered as he continued on his way without turning.

Charlie Beckette was supposedly on the 3rd floor of Sunico Suites. Cam made his way along the damp streets, a feeling of relief following over him at the sight of the sign. His navigation skills have ceased to amaze him yet. He would be in apartment 21, meaning that he could set up in the building across from it. Savaya had gotten him access to a room above a restaurant where a sniper rifle was even awaiting him in the room.

He bobbed his head toward the owner and walked up the stairs until he found room B3. Turning the knob was torture, the screeches made him put a hand to his ear. Stepping into the room, it was like looking upon a creepy hotel movie. The room was well set up, but old.

In the corner of the room was a large case where his sniper was safely stored. Cam stepped up to it, opening it to reveal a black beauty of a weapon. Cam took it out and began the assembly. This took roughly 15 minutes. He perched it at the window where there was a clear shot into the kitchen window of Charlie's apartment. He waited several moments.

He saw a shadow on the wall of the apartment and he knew that Charlie was finally home. He readied himself and watched through the kitchen window. The person that came into view, wasn't Charlie Beckette. It was a woman. She had curly blonde hair tied back. "Wha?" He was about to call Savaya when a thought struck him. He flipped through Charlies file that he had kept with him. The file wasn't for a Charlie Beckette, it was for a Charlotte Beckette. The person he was to kill wasn't a man, but a woman. He looked back through the sniper and saw that she was doing the dishes. He swallowed deeply, memories flooding in, memories he wished he couldn't remember; memories he knew he'd never forget. "Bitch"

Cam took out his phone as soon he was outside the restaurant. He dialed Savaya's number quickly, ignoring his shaking fingers. She picked up in the innocent, business-like tone she always used. "Hello?"

"You're a bitch, you know that?" He brought his free hand up to his head where he pulled a lock of hair.

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"You damn well know what I'm talking about," he said darkly and in a near whisper. "Don't fucking tell me that you don't know what the hell I'm talking about! You set me up!"

"Cameron, calm down. What are you talking about?" Savaya asked.

"Charlie? Charlie? Charlie is a guys name...! Why'd you want me to think she was a guy, Savaya?"

"I really didn't notice, Cameron. I didn't know you had a problem with targeting women in the first place."

"Women, no. Women like that," he had to collect himself, emotion tried swallowing him. "women that look like her..."

"Like who?"

"Don't play dumb with me. You knew exactly what this would trigger... you bitch! You knew..." It was silent for several moments. Cam couldn't make out Savaya's breathing. He thought for a moment that she had hung up.

"Don't forget this life and your place in it, Cameron." The line went dead.

Cam was thankful for his bed back in Blueridge, but he couldn't sleep. He was sick with images of his past. He woke up in the middle of the night, finding himself with tears in his eyes. He hadn't been able to cry once since it happened all those years ago. He was alone and he felt that more than anything. He wasn't loved, he was pitied and it'd be like that for the rest of his life. The sorry things was, he deserved it. He deserved it and he knew he did.

Cam sat up in bed and walked to his bathroom. He made his way into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. Noticing a little stubble, he took out his razor and began quickly shaving it off. He pressed too roughly and a spot began to bleed. He watched the blood expand and begin to drip down his chin. He continued, not caring about the blood. He made another cut and another. He screamed at himself and threw the bloody razor into the sink.

Walking to the shower, her turned to as cold as it would go. He jumped in, trying to wake himself from this horrible nightmare.

Stepping out of the shower, there was a scratching on the door. After putting on a pair of boxers, he stumbled to the door and opened it. A beige puppy walked into the bathroom, licking Cam's wet legs. "Hey Fry," Cam pet her on the head. "You love me right?" He took the dogs wagging tail as a yes. "I've got to get out of here," he whispered. He pulled on jeans, a t-shirt, and a jacket over that. "Come on, Fry!" He called, putting the dog on a leash.

Blueridge was quiet, as it always was. Fry padded happily along the pavement, her tail wagging joyfully as she sniffed for hidden treasures. Cam looked out at the world around him, a world that he once knew. Maybe he never knew it.

It wasn't until they reached further out of the 'town' area that Fry kept yanking the leash. Cam followed in the direction. Fry was growling and sniffing and simply going crazy. Cam was about to scold her when fry came upon a person lying the grass, a car pulled to the side of the road not too far from the person.
"Uh... hello?"
