Introduction
...IS MY FRIEND.
AVENA...
A land of magic. The human race has evolved to use it in many ways, as now magic- what used to be an idea in a child's fantasies- are now real. The human race has been split into 4 different races, Elementalists, Witches, Necromancers, and Shadow Walkers. It's basically what happened to the dog race- it developed different kinds of breeds. These 4 breeds are now what makes up the human race, each with their own unique yet similar powers to another.
The Wizards, Witches, and the Elementalists had eventually all shunned the Necromancers and the Shadows Walkers due to their corrupted magical powers. The latter two races were driven out of society, or were killed. There was a great war after that, one that was against these two sides. The Necromancers and Shadow Walkers wanted revenge for being kicked out of the villages and towns, but they failed again when the war was fought. They hid in the mountains, in the desserts, anywhere that didn't have the Wizards, Witches, and Elementalists. They bide their time... sending out messages to each other, trying to view the status of the society where the Wizards and Witches and Elementalists lived together. They still hungered for revenge, but they will wait for the right moment.
There was peace soon after the war, after all the mourning and crying had gone away. The two races lived together peacefully, although there were still tensions. Then certain countries began to ban one race because another race was in charge, due to how each race uses the elements in their spell. It was like an argument between little kids that ended in the silent treatment. A thousand years later, when they hated each other so much, a war broke out between the Witches/Wizards and the Elementalists. It was childish, really. And it was also their bane.
... IS MY ENEMY AS WELL.
Seeing an opportunity, the Shadow Walkers and the Necromancers came back, allied with each other. They swept the two warring sides off their feet, and they became the dominant race to the Witches, Wizards, and Elementalists. Now they rule with a mighty dark hand, oppressing anyone who uses magic without permission. Many began to be thrown in dungeons, many were killed, many of those were public executions. Either way, it was now a living hell. The Witches, Wizards, and Elementalists didn't help each other, as their hatred and pride prevented the aid of one another. They only helped themselves in this living hellhole, which still helped the Necromancers and Shadow Walkers keep their power.
THE ELEMENTALISTS
Elementalists are humans who command the elements on their own accord. They command a specific element around them to cast a spell. For example, a Fire Elementalist can command the heat around him to condense into a fireball, which he could then send at an enemy. The Elementalist him/herself must have some kind of understanding towards the element they control, as this is how that specific Elementalist would get his/her power. An Elementalist can control up to 3 different elements (Fire, Water, Ice, Lightning, Air, Earth, Darkness, and Light). However, controlling more elements at the same time causes more energy to be consumed. There is a need to chant for a spell to work, but stronger and more elite Elementalists are able to control the elements by thought rather than vocal commands.
Witches and Wizards can also control the elements, but in a different way from an Elementalist. A Wizard or Witch uses his/her own energy, using the elements themselves as their source of energy. Unlike most Elementalists, Wizards and Witches are able to cast a spell without the need to chant, but they use more energy to do so. This also means that the elemental power source must also be present, like a lake or sea to aide a Witch who specializes in water spells. Their elements consist of Light, Water, Earth, and Wind. Like Elementalists, they are bound to 1 element.
Necromancers are Elementalists and Witches who have corrupted their magic whilst using the dark arts. Their spells are just like all the other elements, but darkness would actually accompany that element (such as a black flame that produces no light). These people are shunned because of their misuse of powers by Witches and Elementalists, and they were driven away from society so the Necromancers would never be seen again. Their power source as a Witch/Wizard is the shadow and darkness, wherever light doesn't reach. As an Elementalist, the Necromancer needs only a place where there isn't direct sunlight (cloudy weather also helps them). Necromancers cannot use the pure element of light, however they have a substitute for the light's healing spells. Necromancers can raise the dead and make them fight on their side. A wound can be stitched up by darkness as well, but the body would soon be corrupt by darkness should it be done too much.
You can become a shadow walker through various means. From a Wizard/Witch and Elementalist, you just need to harness enough power over the darkness and command the shadows to do your bidding. However, this would mean losing your ability to control other elements, and your weakness is now light. From a Necromancer, it would've been from a ritual to make yourself a shadow walker or to corrupt your body by absorbing the element of darkness. As a shadow walker, you are able to go into a form of a shadow and walk upon them. What you do to an object's shadow is also what happens to the actual object. During battle, the opponent's shadow must hit yours in this form. Shadow Walkers are also able to manipulate the shadows themselves without doing anything to the actual object. The shadow would be turned into a physical object, which the user can then use for various tasks.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 2 authors
Now, here she was, riding in a magically protected cage to an FWP camp. The three young girls riding beside her had looked to her for leadership and guidance for many years now, and for the first time, Maxine felt as if she truly had nothing to give them. Within Lancelot's home, they were at least given enough freedom to practice without being noticed or punished for it. Maxine herself had never been or seen an FWP camp, but had heard many things about them. The first rumor that proceeded them was the fact that not a single prisoner could exercise their powers, ever. This in itself was torture enough for any witch, let alone one like Maxine who seemed to cling to her own gift as much as she did the air passing through her lungs.
The guards driving the carriage were lower ranking necromancers themselves. Maxine had full confidence, that if there wasn't a binding spell put upon her enclosure, she could take both of them out at the same time. However, the moon was high above the trees, shining brightly over the entire forest; the spell resting above their heads was strong enough that it nearly had a glow about it. Maxine hung her head low, and covered her face with hard edged hands. 'Survival would be much more easier in this wretched world without a bunch of different blood thirsty necros barging in and out of my life every day.' There was not a single ounce of hope to be found in any of the girls' eyes. Maxine was exhausted; so much so, she almost entertained the thought of sleeping for the rest of the journey. Almost.
Ian sat upon a tree branch, concealed by the leaves. He waited, watching as the carriage approached his position. Already did the elementalist prepare his first attack; there were several explosive tags that ran on the side of the road and on the center. Detonating them with the right timing would result in a wall of ice blocking the carriage, as well as Necro-popsicles.
Ian smirked. 3. 2. 1. Now. A large explosion occurred, and half the Necromancers were frozen as well as a large wall of ice had appeared, blocking the carriage's way. Ian jumped from his branch, landing on the nearest Necromancer's back and dodging a Shadow Lance from another Necromancer. A Necromancer comes up behind him, about to attack him with a sword, but Ian managed to roll away before placing a specially made tag to release the binding spell that was cast on every prisoner-transportation method. Smirking, Ian threw the last of his tags at the rest of the Necromancers, either burning them or freezing them to death. "Well... That was surprisingly easier than I thought it would..." Ian muttered as he stood up.

She barely caught a glimpse of a person darting alongside the carriage, before she could feel the binding spell lift. "Brace yourselves." Maxine ordered to the girls as they still sat upon the benches. They knew this warning well, and lifted their legs to tuck their heads down between them for protection. Maxine took in a deep breath as she extended both arms out to her side; with a flick of her wrists, powerful gusts of wind tunneled through the bars from above. Each end of the cage broke from it's hinges, throwing the locks out unto the ground split into tiny pieces. "Run for high ground." was all that Maxine said before darting off the ledge. Maxine wasted no time smashing the entire carriage at the foot of the ice wall with the standing by trees. Manipulating the harsh wind that raked through this particular forest could not have served her better at any point of her life. The trees crashed atop the ragged contraption. As Maxine was positive the girls had gotten off the path winding behind them, she lifted herself atop the pile of lumber. She clapped her hands together, and threw her arms vertical above her head. Roughly, a line of twenty trees toppled atop the path. 'That won't stop a Shadow walker, but it will certainly surprise them.'
Maxine shot up into the air, kicked off of the ice wall, and landed atop a densely covered tree. She grasped hold of the trunk, and paused before moving on. 'Someone helped us, who and why?' Her eyes skimmed the forest floor in question.
Looking around, he saw nobody, well, nobody in plain sight. He did catch a glimpse of a person's leg running away, but that's just it. Ian caught one last breath before he began to move back into the forest. Huh.. Guess someone else did my job for me. Ian thought. Less work for the tired on- The Elementalist's thoughts had been interrupted when he landed on a branch, specifically one that was taken by another. Ian found himself facing a girl's face, and the Elementalist lost his balance when recoiling in surprise, landing flat on his back moments later. "Ow....." Ian groaned. "My back...." What the hell... I didn't think anyone was up there....
She shot a glance down the path to assure that there weren't any more Necromancers haunting the area. Satisfied, she stepped off the branch and glided down closer to ground level. She still perched in the tree roughly 6 feet above the person lying on the ground.
"You there! A-Are you alright?" The man didn't seem concerned with anger, but his physical pain. Only because of this, did Maxine even bother to offer help, which she hadn't done yet.
The Elementalist slowly looked up to see a girl in dark clothes, high up on the branch he fell from. "Ow..." Ian groaned quietly and stood up. "You.... Ow... I'm good...." Ian called up. "Ian brought up a pair of knives, holding one on each hand. He then stabbed one and pulled himself up. Wash, rinse, repeat. The Elementalist repeated this process until he reached a branch, and the boy swung himself onto a branch. Upon closer inspection, Ian realized that he caught a glimpse on her face while assaulting the Necromancers. "Are you one of the people from the carriage thing?"
"Hargh!" Ian pulled himself up on more branch. If there was going to be a fight, the least he could do to prepare would be to make sure he has enough time to grab another branch or slow his fall should his branch snap. "I freed you people... Because it's an act of rebellion..." Ian smirked. "I'm sick and tired of all of this shit. I mean, really. It doesn't really matter if you're a Witch, Wizard, or an Elementalist... We're still being pushed into the mud. It's time we all rebel..." Ian explained. "And I don't care if you're against my idea; I'll still go through with it."
Ian couldn't help but smirk at this. The Elementalist jumped off the tree branch, using his power over wind to slow his fall to a safe speed. Ian dropped and landed on his legs, smirking. "There, see? Not a bit of mud on me." Ian winked at the girl, chuckling. He then began to walk into a certain direction. Unfortunately, they couldn't stay here as Shadow Walkers would soon arrive.
"Hey." Ian said. "Let's go to town and talk there, alright? Maybe get some room in the inn, because I don't want to have my butt dragged into the shadows and not the mud... in fact, I'd rather be thrown into the mud than the realm of the shadows." Ian said as he broke into a jog. Stopping and turning after a few steps, he urged the Witch to come with him. "Come on!"
