Alanna is a rare and mostly frowned upon specimen: a lady knight. She lives in Arthurian Britain, and alongside her husband, Lancelot, serves High King Arthur. Alanna has earned herself the position as the princess' champion.
Alanna tends to be very quiet, keeping to herself. She has a great deal of self-restraint, does not laugh easily, and prefers to settle differences with words before drawing her sword. That being said, when challenged Alanna is resolute and will stand in any way necessary for what she believes to be truthful and just. To Alanna, Justice is a law meant to be upheld above all others.
Alanna carries some light armor, but has none that is specifically her favorite or that she wears into every battle. She has a charger, a gift from her husband, named Gwidon. Also a gift from her husband (a token of love from when they were younger) is an enchanted ring that keep her safe from other magic. But Alanna's most prized possession (even above the precious ring) is her sword: a fine piece called 'Justice,' which her father wielded when he was alive.
Alanna was the third child of a humble Lord and his wife. When her father and elder brothers perished (and her mother shortly thereafter, supposedly of grief) Alanna was to be sent away to learn to be a proper wife for the new Lord of Greensbury. Instead, she slipped away and disguised herself as a boy in order to learn to be a knight...feeling that this was necessary to bring her worthy father's name honor. Once she achieved a position as a squire, she began to roam as her father once had in order to assist those who could not assist themselves...still disguised as 'Alan.' It was not until she stumbled upon an enchanted lake and its champion (a young Lancelot du Lac), and assisted in a life-changing quest, that the humble woman revealed herself and began life anew as a woman...who wielded a blade.
Alanna traveled for two years with Lancelot, the man she loved, and his two cousins, Bors and Lionel. By the time they reached Camelot, where Lancelot was almost immediately knighted, the couple had married. After impressing the High King with her talents by jousting disguised as a knight in a tournament to find a new Champion for the Queen, Alanna was made the Champion for the Princess Keridwen, who was old enough by then to need one.
Alanna has recently discovered that she is pregnant with her beloved husband's first child.
