Asimov Zelazny

An eccentric, blue-haired Child of None with the ability to traverse various planar regions.

0 · 519 views · located in Solinus Sea Eastern Bay

a character in “The Multiverse”, as played by Mencith

Description

Children of None

There exists a plane, non-physical and without form, that has the occasional tendency to manifest a physical creation. These creations often traverse the many planes of reality, surreality, dream, and death. These creations call themselves "Children of None", for they are formed of all that can and cannot be. Once a child leaves the home plane, they immediately adopt the physical aspects of the first plane they travel to. For example, there have been some Children who first travel to a plane of shadow and thus take the form of shadow. Occasionally, a Child will travel to a plane with life and intelligence, and imprint on the first creature they encounter. This process is immediate and unknown to the Child and will usually take on a fully evolved form of its imprint. Many worlds and civilizations have been created by Children and thus has been since the expanse before time.

Asimov's Beginning

Asimov, a Child of None, was formed like all other Children of None and departed its plane and immediately came to stop in a physical plane, teeming with life. The first creature it came upon was a small blue-haired mammal with sharp teeth and pointed ears, resembling a sort of polecat or weasel. Knowledge of its new form and sex, lead it to seek out a name.

After exploring this realm of life, the small boy learned what his new body was capable of and how the plane he was visiting worked. Eventually, he decided that he needed to learn from other humanoid and beings of intelligence, so he left the first plane and arrived in a physical plane of spiritual humanoids, where he was given a name and teaching. He found that this realm had the ability to imbue inhabitants with a gift of elemental magics. After years of training, Asimov was given a name and was even allowed to adopt the tribal name of Zelazny.

Living with the Zelazny, Asimov learned of the other Children of None, for the teaching spoke of horrors that had come to planes, due to the chaotic nature of they're creation. Mid-lesson, Asimov asked his teacher of the horrors, but before the lesson began, another Child of None arrived and destroyed all but Asimov. Upon asking why, Asimov was given one response, "If it is not right, it must be left... So none may be left, for things to be right." With those words, the Child left and Asimov was alone and confused.

Asimov Zelazny chuckled and sniffed at her again. "Murmur... Fish?", he attempted. He inched near the water again and smiled happily, "You're different, Murmur!"

Asimov Zelazny jolted suddenly, startled by her movements and then tilted his head for her to touch his ears. "Ears. You don't have ears?", he asked curiously. He looked at her and her tail, "You don't have legs..." He looked somewhat alarmed and asked, "Are you broken?"

Asimov Zelazny jumped to his feet at the sound of the helicopter and hissed, baring his fangs. He glared at the helicopter, confused. He had never seen machinery and especially an aircraft. "Monster!", he shouted as he picked up a rock from the sandy beach and chucked it at the primary rotor of the helicopter.

Asimov Zelazny jumps again, startled by the girls touch. Upon realizing it was her and seeing the fear in her eyes, he returned his attention to the helicopter and bent low as if posed to leap. Bringing his arm behind his back, he growled a low throaty growl, as his hand clenched tightly as a few pebbles and grains of sand slowly levitated off the ground. He gritted his teeth and roared, slamming the hand on the ground and sending a wave of sand in the direction of the monstrosity.

Asimov Zelazny stood up and stared at the helicopter at the wave hit. Immediately, he ran over closer to the machine and hissed at it. Sniffing the air and looking for the man that has exited, just prior to the impact.

Asimov Zelazny stared at the man for a moment and then stood up straight, puffing out his chest. "I have released you from the bowels of the monster!", he gleamed as he picked up another rock and chucking it at the helicopter.

Asimov Zelazny scoffed and turned from the machine, moving closer to the man, sniffing. "No knowledge is common, I am learning much here.", he explained as he examined the man. "You appear different from the other I have met so far."

Asimov Zelazny found himself thinking about it again. That color, black, the color he hated more than anything else in existence. It surrounded him now and it often did when he traveled, along with a crushing weight in the pit of his stomach. He was used to the feeling now, but he couldn't stand the darkness. With a retching feeling, the world exploded in front of him as he suddenly appeared on the edge of a forest, falling to his knees. The light was bright and hurt his eyes, but it was better than black, pain was better than black. He opened his eyes and saw the grass under his hands, grasping it tenderly with slight curiosity. "What?... The ground is completely covered...", he commented.

Asimov Zelazny released the grass and lifted his head, sniffing the air. Something was in the air, something unfamiliar. He rose to his feet and continued to analyze the scent. His long blue hair blew wildly in the wind as he turned slowly. Wearing a garb of tightly clasped leather and buckles, only a fur loincloth could have been considered clothing. Nearly every inch of his visible body was covered in tribal tattoos and scars. He continued to sniff, raising his nose in the air, a single fang protruding over his lower lip. It was plainly visible that he wasn't human and exhibited many animal traits and behaviors. He knelt slightly, looking up at the sky, tilting his head slightly much like a curious dog.

Asimov Zelazny had indeed smelled the blood, but its unfamiliar to him. He heard Kylan throw the belt and speak to the corpses, his ears perking with the sudden interruption. He leaped down onto all fours and lowered himself down close to the ground, slowly making his way to the edge of the wood. He stopped at the edge of the taller grass and looked through the blades at the form moving by the log. The scent was bolder now and it only increased his curiosity of the creature. He let out a sort of "Chirp", like a rodent and ducked his head back down as if to see how the creature reacted. He was beginning to excite, flicking his tail like a playful feline and sneering, baring his fangs. He was new to this plane and its inhabitants and really wasn't sure what was coming next: Play, fight, attack or mate. Being an omnivore but evolved from a carnivore, it could very likely have been the scent of blood causing this behavior.

Asimov Zelazny watched at the creature up righted and looked around. It had obviously heard him and Asimov slowly raised his head again, noticing the smell of the steak that now permeated the air. He completely forgot that he was supposed to be hiding and sniffed openly at the air, chirping again. He made a soft clicking sound as if begging and perked his ears again. He knew he smelled food now and his stomach was overpowering his brain, this happened often with him. "Reesem?", he asked aloud. He immediately ducked, realizing he had spoken aloud.

Asimov Zelazny lifted his head again, hearing the whistle. He wasn't sure if the creature was luring him out into a trap or being friendly. His stomach wanted him to go on and his brain told him to stay. He sat up and knelt on the ground, looking at the creature. "Ril roo-ayk... Reestee?", he asked slowly. Lowering his ears, he could still smell the meat. "Ril zeeg-lah...", he spoke to himself quietly.

Asimov Zelazny tilted his head and rose higher. "Treat...", he repeated, thinking to himself. He tilted his head again and asked the man, "Dogi-tsah. Ril roo-ayk?" He hoped that the man was peaceful and had no idea what treat meant, at least not yet. He had an odd ability to learn rather quickly, being able to learn languages through a few sentences and body language. "Shorah...", he spoke, greeting the man, guessing that since he used a singular word it was most likely a greeting of some kind. He sniffed the air again and stood up, showing he was in fact the height of a full grown man, but exhibiting the features and behaviors of an animal.

Asimov Zelazny responded with one word, "Out?" He felt a little calmer as the man stood up but the momentary flash of the dagger caused his hair to raise slightly as he clicked threateningly. "Roo-ayk! No out!", he shouted, backing up and taking a defensive posture. Completely ignoring the greeting, he stared at the mans eyes. One of his hands was pulled back as if reading to throw something.

Asimov Zelazny warned the man, "Ril heek! Boroo-ayk!" He looked at the dagger and twitched the fingers of his attack hand. "There heek! Heek out!", he spoke nodding at the dagger. Although his hand was empty, the tall grass beside him was beginning to scorch and turn black, a few blades setting fire like long matches. The whole time moving his sight from the dagger to the man eyes and back again.

Asimov Zelazny snarled and clenched his fist as the heat could be seen visibly, distorting the air around it. "No dagger! Don't like!", he growled. He was learning rather slowly he thought and was beginning to think he would actually need to attack. He heard something in the distant forest and hissed, causing his hand to burst into blue flame. He was now afraid that there were more creatures like this man coming to attack and backed away slowly, his hair stiffening like quills. "No wait... no out! Don't like!", he tried to convey his frustration and feelings.

Asimov Zelazny turned his gaze solely to the man and glared at him till he put away the dagger. He relaxed slightly as the flames dissipated and he knelt to a similar level. "Treat? No treat.", he didn't understand the word and was more focused on defense than his hunger at the moment. He continued to growl quietly at each of the man's movements as if warning him to take it slow. He continued to look over the man's shoulder at the trees, occasionally watching for the sounds he heard.

Asimov Zelazny watches the man's movement and snorted, scratching his head slightly before returning his gaze to the trees. He was sure he heard something and maybe even saw a slight flash of red. He looked back tot he man and the rummaging of the corpses, "Well?" He heard the man use this word before and was unsure what it meant. He scratched again and glimpsed up at the trees, waiting for an appearance.
