Daessee 's amber eyes flicked to the man who had taken a seat at the bar. She raised an eyebrow as she noticed his hair, clearing her throat. "Raining, is it?" she directed the question to Nevan. She chuckled softly, the sound as clear as bells. tinkling quietly.

Daessee leaned on the bar-top, another large gin ordered and lifted to her lips. She sipped it, still studying the man with her piercing amber eyes. "Aren't we all?" she cocked her eyebrow, tilting her head. Her eyes were still trained on him, intense and unnerving.

"Problem is, it's so hard to hide when you look like this" Daessee waved a hand at herself, shaking her head. "I can't go missing for long" she sighed, taking a large mouthful of her drink. "But no one ever finds me here, no one recognises me or knows who I am" she smiled, adjusting her hair in her reflection in the glass.

Daessee nodded slightly, glancing from her reflection to him. "Part of the package" she shrugged lightly, pouting at her reflection. "What happens when you go to private schools and finishing schools. You don't survive if you aren't big-headed and a bitch" she laughed, louder this time and with more feeling. "You want another drink?" she offered, despite his being still half full

"Oh yeah? And why's that?" Daessee questioned, sipping her drink instead of studying herself in it. She checked the time on her phone, smiling slightly. "I'm guessing you can't hold your drink" she giggled, finished her second drink without flinching. She placed the glass down with a small thud, raising her eyebrow. "Do you have to go home? They have rooms here" she asked, pointing to the stairs

Daessee considered his response rather thoughtfully before replying. "Well, that does pose a bit of a health and safety issue" she nodded, grimacing a little. "Well I would, but if I turn up at 2am and drunk, they don't let me in. So I don't have much choice" she shrugged. "And if you live where I do, this place is much more free and bearable" she nodded knowledgeably, crossing one slender leg over the other.

Daessee paused, her brow furrowing. "Where's the fun in that!" she exclaimed, laughing whole-heartedly. She flicked her hair from her eyes, waiting for him to finishing talking to the bartender before she replied. "Possessive huh?" she bit her lip, shaking her head. "I'm not possessive. I just think you need to get out more. Be spontaneous." she nodded, ordering her third drink

Daessee nodded slightly, laughing. "Well then, that's up to you. I'm not for life-risking to be honest" she replied, uncrossing her legs and standing slowly. She walked over to him, smiling slightly. "Wouldn't you like to know?" she raised an eyebrow cheekily, her amber eyes sparkling mischieviously. "I do have to depart home however, it was very nice to meet you" she smiled, kissing his check softly before strolling out of the bar.

Daessee strolled into Gambits, her blonde hair somewhat tamed and her clothes just about covering what they needed to to be publicly decent. She took a seat at the bar, using the screen to order a glass of red wine. Crossing one leg neatly over the other, she adjusted her shorts on narrow hips and checked over her overly-ripped t-shirt before she totally relaxed. Lifting the glass to her lips, she sipped it, glancing around the bar at the distinct lack of patrons

Daessee barely batted an eyelid at the outburst of noise. Seemed like every other week something dramatic went down in this bar. Sighing, she glanced over, watching events unfold with waning curiosity. Laughing softly to herself, she knew where she'd never run to if she was wanted. Daessee sipped her wine again, aware of someone hiding in the roof but not the least bit concerned

The doors clattered once again, and Daessee just about found the energy to glance up. She studied the newcomer while she had the chance, in case he was planning any acrobatics. Her stare was cold, empty in fact, as it gave the stranger a once over before she returned to her wine. The first person to enter the bar wasn't in fact a person. All the same, he behaved oddly enough for her to want to avoid him, as he settled down to sleep. Shaking her head to herself, she took a much larger gulp of wine

"Well it isn't my seat, so go for it" Daessee replied, her voice rough but pleasant to hear. She leaned back in her chair, switching her legs so the other was crossed over the top. "So why Gambit's?" her question was simple, although it would seem she was rather disinterested in the answer. She fiddled with her top, the rips falling in all the right places as she continued to sip her wine

Daessee let her eyes flick over his features again, pursing her lips for a moment. "Uh-huh" she nodded, her brow furrowing for a moment as she considered his question. "Daessee" she replied simply, her lips flickering into the resemblance of a smile. "And you?" she asked politely

"'Cause I haven't heard that before" she scoffed, rolling her eyes a little. She looked at Curtis again, frowning. She went to speak, but stopped herself. "Surprise me" she shrugged, the smile on her lips not quite reaching her eyes, which remained empty

Daessee pushed open the bar doors, looking around with a frown on her face. Empty once again, she was almost grateful. Taking a seat at the bar, she ordered a drink from on of the screens and pulled a book from her bag with a flourish

Daessee had taken to watching Raiden, a small smirk playing on her lips as she watched him struggle with a simple bottle top. She coughed to cover her laugh, shaking her head as her drink arrived

Daessee looked at Raiden, slightly puzzled at his actions towards his weapon. "Are you threatened by me?" she raised an eyebrow, her tone making it sound like it was totally ridiculous. She lifted her drink to her lips, shaking her head slightly

Daessee was still watching Raiden curiously, chewing her bottom lip. He seemed awfully tense, although that was no real concern of hers. She lifted her drink to her lips, sipping it slowly

Three months after Dominic Hagan's return...

The sun was setting on Caprica City, golden pillars of light streaming into the atria of a large, lavishly decorated ballroom. Finely-dressed patrons milled about the room, a live band providing a tasteful musical atmosphere before the festivities began. Plates and silverware were set at silk-laden tables - priceless works of art were poised about the room - the finest foods and drinks were on display, the very best of Caprican cuisine. This was, after all, the fifth annual Tech Con Charity Silent Auction. There was a standard that came with a name like 'Tech Con', a standard that couldn't fall short of anything other than 'excellent'.

But course, things were different this year. Tech Con was under new management. Miles Hagan had retired, and his recently-returned son, Dominic, had taken the helm. Doubts were already surfacing. The young Hagan had a reputation for lavish parties and toting around gorgeous harems of women ... his thirteen year misadventure throughout the Multiverse had left a trail of public scandal and gossip in its wake. He certainly wasn't a businessman. This little gathering, the first Tech Con hosted event since Dom had taken power, would be an important chip in the Langaran aristocracy's opinion of the young Hagan's competency. The guests were already chattering excitedly among themselves. Would he show up drunk? Would a parade of supermodels precede him? Maybe he wouldn't show up at all ... leave the public appearances to his aides...

But show up Dominic did - in a finely tailored tuxedo, no less. Entering with his butler, the young Hagan systematically went through all the major Langaran families, shaking hands and laughing it up with the Aschen aristocracy like a seasoned businessman. No matter what the opposite party's opinion of Mr. Hagan when he introduced himself, they always seemed to end up thinking better of him when he left. It was as if he knew the biographies of every individual he spoke with - and he knew just the personal tidbits to talk about to win their favor.

"Thank you so much for coming! I heard your daughter took first prize in the Athena Archery Competition..."

"...bought another land skimmer? I must take you out to the Aries sometime. I just bought a new skimmer myself and-"

"...to die for. Really, if you haven't had the gyros yet, I'll take you to the buffet line myself..."

The party went on. The music played. Glasses clinked and drinks were had. Socialites did their thing.
