Deirdre is quiet, but passionate. If her temper is up, she shows it. But it is not easy to upset her. Due to her situation, her being on the run, she has adopted a jumpy and nervous demeanor. But she does love to laugh and will do so without inhibitions.
With her she carries a small sack containing the essentials, i.e. a bit of food, money, clothes, soap. She doesn't know the first thing about fighting, but she does have with her a dagger she hides under her skirts. In case she is called upon to defend herself.
Deirdre Grace's childhood was normal. Up until she turned 18. But Deirdre wasn't at fault for it... In fact, the blame could be placed squarely on the shoulders of her parents. Her father to be more specific.
Before Deirdre was born, while her mother was pregnant with her, there was a horrible accident. On a peaceful evening, a fire broke out. This fire completely destroyed three homes and a tavern, killing many people. Nearly killing Deirdre's mother.
Deirdre's father was unscratched (having been away when the fire began) and so when he returned to find his wife severely burned, beyond recognition, he knew in his gut he would lose both her and the child in her womb. In a desperate attempt to save the woman and child he had loved so much, Deirdre's father let out a desperate plea, appealing to anyone who was willing to help him.
A man had approached then. A very calm man compared to the chaos the fire had caused around them. The man said he could spare the woman and unborn baby, but on two conditions.
Deirdre's father must sacrifice part of his life.
And Deirdre, when she reached the age of 18, must carry out whatever the stranger requested.
Deirdre's father agreed, he would do anything for his wife and child. So the stranger granted his request. Deirdre's mother lived, but remained disfigured, and her father died three years after she was born. When Deirdre reached the age of 18 she began having strange dreams. In every dream she would see a demon-like creature and it would command her to do things, small miniscule things like purchase something or say something to someone.
Little did she know that the demon-like creature was only getting started. As time passed the demands grew more and more outrageous. At one point, Deirdre found herself locked in a torrid embrace with a strange man.
And when she turned 20, her mother finally passed. That was when the demon-like creature from her dreams began appearing outside of her dreams. Deirdre was powerless to deny the thing. So in an attempt to escape it, she ran.
