Duncan was employed as head of Security in the Valdez estate. Mr. Miguel Valdez was a high profile owner of a rather profitable construction company and he felt that a security team would help keep his family safe. Mr. Valdez's son, James Valdez, felt that Duncan was much closer to his father than he was. He hired a skilled group of assassins and gave them all of the information to bypass every bit of security that Duncan had devised. Mr. Valdez did indeed feel that Duncan would be better suited to run the company than his greedy son. On the night of April 15th the assassins bypassed security, and murdered the Valdez family in their beds, leaving James alive who had left for an unscheduled meeting.

Upon entering the bedroom to check on the family, Duncan was electrocuted, and presumed dead by the assassins. They then sweeped through the estate, killing all of Duncan's officers. When Duncan came to his senses, the still living Mr. Valdez had crawled from his bed and dialed 911 before passing out on the floor, staining it a deep red with his blood. Duncan rushed to save his close friend and employer, and escaped the estate which the assassins had set ablaze and abandoned. Duncan and Mr. Valdez were taken to the hospital, and while Duncan waited his good friend, Mr. Valdez, succumbed to his wounds and died.

When James returned to find the estate burned he demanded that Duncan be tried for murder. By a stroke of luck, Duncan was acquitted of the charges, and released. This did not, however, stop James from firing him and leaving him out on his own. Duncan knows that James had planned the attack, and will one day be able to truly prove it.

The liquid would make Katie unable to feel anything, and her sight may shift colors or become slightly skewed. As she looked on, she'd be able to see Duncan turn on the machine, and Justice move it around her frame. His mouth would move and he'd point to her shoulder but all she would hear would be garbled noises. Duncan held the machine for Justice while the man drew a recently sanitized scalpel from his coat pocket and began to remove the tracker. If she tried to move she would not be able to feel if she was moving or not, which she wasn't. It was a small black thing that had a gold writing on it. Duncan dropped it in a yellow folder and then Justice set about scanning for any more.

When he came to the second one, Justice lifted her leg up and Duncan held it while Justice leaned beneath it and removed the tracker. They were close to the top of the skin, so they just put some band-aids over them. Justice snapped his fingers in front of her before he lied her down on her side. The two spoke for a while and Justice took the trackers and left. Duncan came over to her, and put a blanket over her. He liked to keep his house cold. She would begin to come out of her daze in thirty minutes to an hour.

Duncan looked down at her, "Ah. You're awake. Justice gave you some stuff that basically numbed you and we took out the tracers. You had two in you." He said, tapping his shoulder and his ankle.

"Do you feel alright? Sometimes people come out of that with a head ache." He asked, making eye contact and putting his television in mute.

"Yeah, but don't worry. We got them." He chuckled, winking at her. He had gotten comfortable and his vest sat on the floor next to the chair, "I suppose we just hang out until we need to move you." He said, pulling his blanket closer around him. The unreliable AC unit always made it very cold.

"There are some aspirin in the kitchen." He said, pointing towards the small cooking space.

"That's when we'll have to move you." He said, grinning. He had it pretty much planned out. They'd mover from safe-house to safe-house until the men stopped, and then she'd be free to go. He still had to calculate how much this was going to cost her. Perhaps he'd give her a discount for something ridiculous like being his first customer, or being pretty. She was pretty.

He was lost in his thoughts for a moment, and then snapped back, "I've got it all under control, don't you worry 'bout a thing." He chuckled.

Duncan took a sip of his glass of water, "It's fine." He said again, waving his hand in the air. She had been apologizing all evening, and he had answered the same every time.

"Take your time, I assume making contact with your bank as of right now could be risky." He said, stretching. They should be safe for another night, and then they would move.

Duncan paused, "Kind of. I was raised by my first client." He said, thinking for a moment. "His name was Miguel Valdez, and he was a building contractor." He continued, trying to remember details.

"He adopted me, and raised me as if I were his own child. Then I offered to do his security work, and he hired me." He scratched his chin, "You're probably wondering why I'm talking about him in the past tense, his real son, James Valdez organized a murder and tried to get me jailed, but I was acquitted."

Duncan sat silently on the corner of the counter. He'd just sit and listen to the goings on of the bar for now. He sipped at a glass of water, and watched a news report on the television. A few more drug dealers found dead. Someone was definitely 'fighting the good fight' out there.

He finished his glass, and spun the ice-cubes around inside of it. He watched quietly and listened. Sounds like Benito was warding off another mad girl. He chuckled at Benito's words. He liked to talk about how much respect was worth and how much he's helped Gabriel. Though, helping build a multi-million dollar empire was definitely something to talk about.

Duncan raised an eyebrow when the girl sent her foot into Benito's side. He stood, and dusted off his vest. "Looks like we've got another fighter." He said into the radio on his chest. He walked quickly after, and when he'd gotten close enough would make a grab for her arm to stop her.

If he made the grab, he'd quickly zip-tie her hands behind her back. After that, he'd take her up to the second floor and explain what had happened to his co-workers. If he missed, he'd try and make another grab, always for her arm, and attempt the whole process again.

Duncan took a step back after she hit him, and he was about to make a move towards her again until Gabriel told him to lay off. "Sorry, Gabe." He said, holding up his hands. He then turned back to Liz, "Sorry, ma'am."

Duncan pushed back through the crowd and back to the counter. He'd just stay back until he was more needed. He took his seat again, and ordered another glass of water for himself.

Duncan looked over at the other woman at the bar. Hadn't she asked for him earlier? "Ma'am were you asking for me earlier?" He asked, sliding down a stool. He didn't want her to think he'd ignored her.

Duncan didn't really know what he could help her with, but maybe she just had some questions about the bar. He knew enough to answer a few basic questions, though she'd be better off just asking the bartender.

Duncan chuckled, "He's not to bad when you get to know him." He said, smiling. "He's kind of like my boss." He added, nodding to her. He took a sip of his water, and then set it back down on the counter. He looked back to her, "He was just doing his job. You can't be mad at him for that. Just like a fisherman catches fish. You can't be upset at him for catching fish for people, and Benito is just there to make sure bad fish don't get to Gabriel if you know what I mean." He said, laughing to himself.

He got his glass refilled, and sipped at it. Nothing better than ice cold water.

Duncan chuckled, and finished his water, "Yeah, I think I can do that." He said, tapping in the phone number for a cab in his phone. His earpiece made the dial tone, and he pressed his hand to it to speak, "yeah, I need a cab at Taylor's Bar." He said, pausing, "Yeah, she'll be the pretty girl standing outside." He chuckled, winking at her.

After he hung up he smiled at her, "He'll be here in a bit, you just need to go wait outside." He said, gesturing towards the door.

Duncan watched the woman leave, and then turned to Jonathan, "Nah, you just walked in at the right time." He chuckled, and allowed the bartender to take his glass. He turned to Jonathan, "I'd like you watching the dance floor and the VIP room." He said, pointing towards an opportune seat across the bar.

The seat would allow Jonathan to glance across the dance floor and right into the VIP lounge. Duncan kept his gaze on the counter, the door, and the sitting areas. They were under staffed, but they had a guy on cameras, and two floor guards. Hopefully they'd be able to function well in case of anything happening.

Duncan laughed, and watched the young man on the dance floor embarrass himself. "Oh gosh, I'm glad I could dance when I was a teenager." He joked, taking a sip of his water. After a moment or two, the young man realized his fault and faded back into the crowd.

It had been a rather slow day today, and only a few things had happened. A threat to the bartender earlier in the day, and some scuffle were the only two things that Duncan had to deal with. He checked his watch idly, and turned back around to watch the channel ten news. Just a car crash on Main street, but nothing important.

Duncan drew his pistol, and aimed at the fleeing man, and shot at his legs. "Stop there!" He shouted, firing another shot. Duncan hadn't expected to react so quickly, due to this not happening often.

He had been trained for this though, and he guess that must've been the cause of his promptness. If he hit the man, he pull his arms behind him and zip-tie them behind his back. He'd always keep the pistol trained no him, and if he rolled over to fire back, Duncan would shoot him right between the eyes.

Duncan zip tied Leon's arms behind his back, and his legs together. That'd keep him in place. Duncan then jogged over to Titania and Aleksandra, "Hey, I can lift the clearance and drive you two to the hospital." He said quickly, kneeling, "Can you lift her?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.

He couldn't tell what was going on inside of the woman's body, but he knew it wasn't good.

Duncan's eyes widened a little, when he saw the tears. Miss Multiverse was dying. The security guard ran to the door, and tapped in the codes to lift the lock down. "C'mon!" He shouted to Titania. Duncan ran outside and got in his car. He started the engine, and pulled it right outside the door so that Titania could get to it faster.

He folded the passenger seat down so the back seats had more room, and opened the back door so Titania could get herself and Miss Multiverse in the car.

Duncan would've punched it if it weren't for the fact that most cars had peddles near a person's feet. He pressed down on the gas, and swerved out of the parking lot, and off towards the city.

"Hold her steady, it might get a little bump-" They hit a bump, "A little bumpy." He said, turning again. He was well over the speed limit now, and the sun right in his eyes wasn't helping his driving skills. He flipped down the sun visor, and conitnued driving.

Duncan swerved, running a red light, and barely missed a big blue truck. "Fuck!" He exclaimed, glancing in his rear view mirror at the two in his car. "Are you alright back there?" He asked, returning his gaze to the road. Just in time to turn onto the final stretch of road towards the hospital.

He really put the peddle to the metal, and the car's engine roared. He slowed down only to turn into the parking lot, and came to a stop outside the doors. He leaned back, and opened the door for them, "Here, go!" He said, looking in his rear-view to see if she needed any help getting Miss Multiverse out of the car.
