A 16-year-old tawny-haired blue-eyed British apprentice-sorcerer, and a cheeky little blighter at that.
He has a rather charming English accent, along with a facade of cocky charisma. He thinks himself rather witty, but there's a kind of insecurity beneath this. Girls intimidate him, but he tries not to show his awkward innocence.
He has a collapsible wand--no Harry Potter-style stuff here, mind you!--and a backpack with his magic textbooks and snacks. He also has a pocketknife which he never uses, various pens and pencils, and a wallet.
He studies magic in Scotland with a group of other boys his age, apprenticed under a descendant of Myrddin/Merlin (famous Welsh wizard). He's rather bright, but school bores him, and he seeks adventure... and of course girls.
