Personality

Curious by nature, Stefka watches the world, and reaches out to interact with it when she feels little more can be learned through observation alone, sometimes using a childlike manner.
She runs hot and cold with strangers, open and friendly one moment, then closed and reserved, even surly the next. To those she has come to like though, she is loyal and fiercely protective.
Secretive, moody, impulsive, independent, and overbearing, what's not to love? In truth, she can be warm, friendly, empathetic, self-sacrificing, valiant, and even goofy, but it takes time for her to get close to people... trust is a big issue.

Equipment

At first glance, most people notice only a pair of jewel hilted daggers at her waist, but upon closer inspection, one would see she wears three throwing daggers encircling each wrist, with two larger, but similar trios around her ankles, affixed to the upper portion of her boots.
To be sure, she has other weapons and is well protected by magical devices, but these few can be seen with the naked eye.

The jewel hilted daggers are a pair of +3 Vampiric blades. Upon an attack roll of 18 or 19, there is a 20% chance that the blade will drain one level from the target. On a roll of Natural 20, there is a 40% chance of level drain, and a 10% chance of the target being killed outright from system shock.
She will only use the +3 Vampiric blades if she is certain that she if fighting someone evil.

The other throwing daggers (large and small) are simply +4 blades of Returning.

Unseen is a pair of +3 short sword energy blades, that teleport to/from her hands and also give her the ability to teleport 3tpd.

She wears magical bracers of defense that improve her armor class by 9 points, and provide her with a 60 point buffer.

History

Stefka was born to loving parents and siblings, in an idyllic community, steeped in a pastoral (fantasy) setting. Her father was a successful carpenter, her mother a cleric and ex-adventurer. Her life could not have been more on the healthy side of typical.
When she was ten, she awoke one night, coughing in the thick smoke, as rough hands grasped her from her bed and threw her out the window. She watched, helplessly, as her home burned. She watched as figures concealed in black clothes and hoods, fled. She watched as her older brother crawled from the structure, flames crawling up his back. All she could do was watch, standing there frozen in shock, scraped-up, cut, bruised and terrified.

Aegis, her brother, fled with her into the elven lands, where he, as a young mage, could be of service and support them. As time went on, it became more and more clear that Stefka did not fit in well with the elves, secluding herself for weeks at a time, within their ever growing and improving home. Already protective of his little sister, Aegis took time from his successful career as a mage of considerable power, and began to smother her, eventually becoming overbearing towards her, at a loss to figure out how to make her engage with the world at large.

When Aegis was called upon to travel to one of the human kingdoms on an errand for the queen of the elves, he took Stefka (after much protest) with him. In an unfortunate turn of events, they became separated, and try as he might with all his magical power Aegis could not find his sister.

Years later, Stefka returned to the elven lands, greatly changed. She seemed so outwardly calm and composed, self-assured, and at relative ease with whoever she came in contact with.
Despite many rounds of questions, Stefka never told her borther what had happened that day, nor the years that had followed it. Never did she even hint at the training she had received at the hands of a master assassin, the cruelty she suffered from his companions, or the internal struggles she endured after killing for money.

Though she keeps her skills honed to perfection, Stefka inwardly considers herself to be an ex-assassin, and has vowed never to kill for profit.

Many times Stefka has used the magical portals in the GateRoom of Aegis' home, in search of a spark that would make her feel alive again, of a connection that would make her feel real warmth towards another being, and in search of a purpose, a reason to explain why her life has been the way it is, why she is how she is.

So begins...

Quickpaw Hurojo awakes after having been asleep for several years. Around the area was only void. It was empty. Dark. Cold. "Where... where have the spirits placed me?" He started patting his body all over; ensuring that he was corporeal. "Not dead; that's a plus." Though there was no time to lose. If he was corporeal, that likely means that he could return to the world he knew, and hopefully return to his king. He began running, hoping to find an exit to this ethereal obscurity.
