"I want whatever opinion you would feel like giving me sir." She stated as she watched him. Hopeful.
He walked over to a small plinth near a wall, and poked it. Seconds later, a hologram showing Jenn, and her info, appeared above the plinth. "She's got the markings of a good leader. Strong, intelligent, compassionate. My only issue is this. She's still a student here. She's still learning."
"I understand that, but even though she is still learning, she has a better understanding of these things than I do. And having her with me on board the ship would be a welcome comfort as well, she would know how to run the ship better than I would, so I would need someone I can trust to help run the ship. Someone who I know can give me good advice and can help me decide on what to do."
"Okay. And what of your relationship with her?" He raised an eyebrow, having known of it since day one.
"I love both her and Cody. But that is not the basis for this request sir, the basis is about people I trust. I barely know anyone aside from you, Sergeant Logan, and Cody. So having them nearby would be a comfort for me when I run the ship."
"I just wanted to know, due to....nevermind. I won't encroach further. Request granted. Wait.....you want Cody?"
"Well...both, but jenn as my XO." She giggled."Like I said, I love them both. But I am willing to wait for Cody's schooling to be over if that is okay with you."
"The schooling is not an issue. I need to know what Cody would be doing on your ship. He's an infantry officer, nothing more."
"Orbital Drop Shock Trooper training, but that's it. Your ship does have a contingent of ODST's....hmmm." He smiled. "He could lead them."
"I'll make sure to set up a demonstration for you at some point. For now, how's about we take a look at your ship?"
"Oh, yes, that." He pulled up the specs on the UNSC Fast Progress, which was currently docked in the UNSC Infinity for refit.
"Lemme check." He looked at another screen, showing the names of all ships in the fleet. "It's not taken. It's gonna take a few days to get approved, but its available. Sure you want it?"
"Alright." He tapped on one of the screens. "Request sent. Lieutenant Logan, c'mon back in." Jenn walked in with a look of surprise on her face.
