Madalene doesn’t always care about what she is wearing so her style might be a little eccentric for some. She likes to use bright colored make up, especially purple since it’s her favorite color. As a reminder for when she was lost that year in Romania, she has a small drawing of some creature engraved in her skin on her right shoulder.
After what happened to her in the past and the learning to surpass her fear of the outside world,she still hates to go outside of the house and sometimes has the impression something is watching her. That could be her wild imagination at work but one thing is for sure she isn’t your average lady.
She loves her cats the most, one of which she got from Romania while she was working there as a reporter. Madalene feels that she owes her friend Harvey for helping her move here in America after all that had happened. One important trait would be her strong believe in justice and truth for which she would do anything.
The thirst for knowledge had always pushed her further into life threatening situations, like the time she went searching for the moth man in the middle of the night. Thank God Harvey went with her and saved her from falling in a giant trash pit!
There is no stopping Madalene when she wants to accomplish something .And as loud as she is at times I guess it would be a pain to even try.
Her photo camera is always in her purse together with her gun , an abnormal amount of sweets and cigarettes.
Of course she could take her beloved Colt with her, instead she made sure she had enough cigarettes with her.
And yes she has a huge purse that sometimes seem like the solar system could fit inside of it!
Madalene is the adopted daughter of D’Abenville family; they are very rich and influential people that had several estates around the world. After their untimely death in a plane crash, Madalene took the decision to donate most of her inheritage to the Romanian orphanage from where she was brought.
Keeping for her a small amount that would ensure a normal and relaxed life in which she could pursue her plans.
At this time she meets with Harvey, a young man that had his own magazine “The Supernatural Flavor”, which helped with a job and with some contacts in Romania. She wanted to learn of her real parents and the reason they had to abandon her as they did. The trail took her in a small village somewhere in the Carpathian Mountains, where the sky was gray and sad as the people inhabiting this place. She managed to find an address and names of her parents, the men here seemed to know them well but they didn’t want to give many details.
In the last conversation she had with Harvey on the phone, she told him she was going to visit their home. Harvey waited for a sign from her almost a week, he called the embassy and went to Romania himself to search for Madalene. No matter what he tried or where he looked for her, it seemed like she disappeared in thin air. In the village where Madalene was born, he found no clues and the people there said that she left the next day.
A year later, an old woman who was gathering mushrooms in the forest found a girl covered in dirt near a local fountain. The police identified her and called Harvey to come and pick her up. He took her back in America, where he helped her come back to her senses. She didn’t know what happened to her , the only memento she had of that lost year was a weird scar on her right shoulder that looked like a strange animal.
