|{Hobbies || Talents}|

Boxing | When Quinn started his career as a Marine, he boxed a lot to help him stay in shape. He's taken up the sport as a way to relieve stress and escape the world around him.

Shooting | When Quinn was overseas whenever there was some down time, Declan always practiced his target shooting. He'd take a couple of bottles or cans and puts them at a distance and takes them out. This skill has been very helpful since the virus started spreading.

Combat | A strength of his while overseas was his stealth and his hand at combat. He's always been good at the hand to hand stuff.

|{Fears || Weaknesses}|

His wife | His wife was turned by a Zygr'n (which is what Quinn calls those who have been turned) and since then he's been more aggressive against battling the virus. She became a deadly weakness to him and rather than taking her out like he should have, he packed up his car and left.

Turning | Ever since the virus started spreading one of Quinn's greatest fears was getting bitten and turned into one of those horrid monsters.

Cold | With his wife gone, his many years overseas, and his complete loneliness Quinn has become quite cold and distant. He started off with a group of neighbors once the outbreak started but since then he's been on his own.

PTSD | Quinn suffers greatly from PTSD from serving 11 years in the Marines and the zombies don't help anything either.

|{Weapons & More}|

As a former Marine suffering PTSD, Quinn had made sure that he always had a house stocked of weapons in case any intruders decided to infiltrate his home. Although no one ever did, Quinn was always prepared. When it was time to leave home he packed up his Jeep with a sachel of weapons including;
two glocks
two Uzis
A Mossberg shotgun and
a collection of M9 army knives.
Quinn is also equipped with a knife that was given to him by one of his buddies at the camp at his last deployment.

|{Appearance}|

At first glance, Quinn looks intimidating. His shoulders are broad, weighing heavily on either side of his wide, strong chest. He stands at a height of five-foot-ten so he's not the tallest of guys but this muscular body makes up for hit. He keeps his brown hair short on the top and mostly shaved down on the sides - it's a cut he's gotten used to during his years in service. He has a few tattoos scattered across his body. He has a leprechaun on his left bicep that represents his Irish heritage, with a tribal that surrounds it. He has a few other tattoos that were done in thought of his family and close friends.

|{Personality}|

Daring, Charming, Intuitive, Cold, Secretive

Although Quinn has a very charming side to him, since everything has happened he's turned quite cold and distant. He doesn't really mean to be, well mean, but he's been on his own for quite a bit now and he doesn't really see that changing. Declan just finds it better for himself and for anyone else to be honest, if he just stays on his own. Other people just get in the way of things and he wouldn't be able to supply other people with enough food for all of them to survive. He was pretty secretive about his wife being turned when he joined the survival groups he did, they'd always ask but he'd never tell. It got to the point where Dec figured it would just be better off by himself so he packed his weapons and food into his jeep, he also took one of the radios from his last camp to keep an ear out for any survivors who might be able to help him.

From being on his own, Declan has become a very brave and daring character. He often finds himself at hand to hand combat with Zygr'ns, taking them out stealthily in order to get around them when he's on foot scavenging for food and materials. Even though Quinn doesn't do a lot of talking he is very intelligent and very intuitive. The man has learned how to survive on very little from his experience overseas. He has used very little material to get by day to day during this outbreak, simply making the most he can out of very little and trying to stay alive - which has worked for him.

Some will unfortunately only get to see the cold side of him, but Quinn has a very sensitive side that some were very lucky to know. He has a kind heart and does try to help people when he can. Times are tough right now but that doesn't stop Quinn from helping as much as he can. When he sees those who are in need of help, he gives a helping hand - some may see him only as selfish, trying to do things for himself (like surviving) but Quinn is very selfless and will do what he can whenever he can.

|{History}|

At the ripe age of 18, Declan decided that simple careers weren't for him. He took his brain and his brawn and joined the Marines. During his first deployment he met and fell in love with fellow marine Sarah McNeil, they dated while they were on leave and before being deployed for the second time got engaged. A few months later, the two were exchanging their vows together in front of some family and all of their fellow soldiers. Sarah and Declan were married for nine years before the virus happened and took his wife.

Declan was at a base camp when it happened - he was over at DC and when he stepped off the flight back in Illinois he knew something was wrong because his wife wasn't there to greet him at the airport like she usually is. He had heard of the virus distinctly on while in the airport but he didn't think anything of it. He especially didn't tie this to the sudden cold shoulder from his wife. It wasn't until his cab ride home that he started to notice weird things. People on the streets were awfully pale and lethargic. Everyone was slow moving and those who weren't slow moving were moving away from the other people and looting. The cab driver said it had been that way ever since the virus. He mentioned some neighborhoods were so bad they had to shut them down. When Declan got home he looked for his wife, he couldn't find her and began to panic. He packed his emergency bags and put them in the trunk of his car. He went out looking for his wife on the streets for a while to find her roaming around aimlessly. When he tried to talk to her she was unresponsive. He took her home and tried to take care of her but that only led to an attempted attack from her. That's when Declan realized he needed to leave. He tried to contact his Captain to try to find out what was happening but to no avail. He spent several days boarded up in home until food ran out, then he knew he had to move. Streets were being closed off, people were being quarantined, the army was rolling in and shutting everything down. People were looting and killing - the entire town was wreaking havoc in the towns and cities in Illinois and God only knew where else. That's when Declan made his escape from the infected streets of his town and started doing his own surviving.

"Canada... Can't say I've been there, but there is some sense in going there. The cold isn't the only thing it's got going for it. It is... was a lot less populous than the United States, particularly in the northwest."

He caught the look on Milah's face when he prayed. If he remembered right, he wasn't supposed to be paying attention to his surroundings when he prayed, but old habits died hard and survival tactics drilled in to you for over a decade died harder, he supposed. Did he believe in God? He suppose he did. There had to be some Good to offset all the evil he had seen. Some point to measure justice from. Justice couldn't be just an idea people made up. Still, he knew why it was hard to have faith in a loving God. It was hard to have faith in the pit this world had become or always had been if he was being honest with himself.

"Killer... That's what we should have named you. Killed your brother the moment you came into the world and then you killed your mother too."

Lukas shook his head. Now wasn't the time to dwell on bad memories. He ate in silence, looking up only when Milah spoke again.

"Well, I don't have a car. Never needed one or could afford one. There should be plenty of vehicles to siphon gas from in town to fill both of your vehicles."
