Introduction
Now, centuries later, the world is split in two. One half belonging to the humans, who hope to rebuild their world into what the legends say it once was. The other half is home to the Wildborne, a race of once-human creatures that have evolved into a more animalistic race.
The Wildborne clans carry the physical traits of the animals native to the dense woodland that makes up their home. (For instance, a member of the snake clan would be born with scales and a forked tongue, while a member of the wolf clan would have fur and other lupine features.) They live in peace with the land and the ruins of old civilizations, content to leave the earth as is. Humans, however, are more ambitious creatures. They build into and change the world around them. These conflicting goals and beliefs led to many conflicts between the two races in the past, once even building to a war that caused the extinction of entire clan of deer-Wildborne. Because of this, the inhabited land was divided with a massive stone wall, preventing any contact between human and Wildborne.
Time has passed. Humans have all but forgotten the existence of their wild neighbors, recognizing their existence only through stories that most disregard as fairy tales. Oddly enough, the situation is almost exactly the same on the other side of the wall. Even Wildborne mothers tell their children seemingly outlandish tales of the humans that used to live along side their kind.
Though these two civilizations have gone to great lengths to prevent any kind of interaction with each other, sometimes, through curiosity or luck or even wicked intent, a wayward human or Wildborne will find themselves face to face with a myth come to life.
Are you human or Wildborne? Are you peaceful or vicious? And with the secrets of what lies beyond the dividing wall revealed, what will you do next?
Your story begins here.

The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 5 authors
Dean hesitated at first but ends up walking toward her and rubs her ears. They feel the same as any other dog ears, the difference being that they were attached to a girls head. He felt along the base making sure that it wasn't attached with glue or some other substance. It didn't seem possible but it was most definitely part of her. He couldn't help but scratch behind her ears like one might do to a husky.
"So... you guys are real?" Dean looked at the fish boy,"There really are wildbornes on the other side of the wall?"
When he scratched her ears she immediately started wagging her tail like a dog would do.
Rin noticed what she was doing and blushed, she felt a little embarrassed by wagging her tail.
She had never done that in front of a stranger, and she was surprised by her own behavior.
"Y-yes, there are much more like us on the other side"
He didn't notice Rin's reaction at first, since he was busy looking at the fish boy. Once he did notice, a smile creeped across his face. It was amusing to see the girl embarrassed by a reaction that any other dog would do. Then again, these were wildbornes and were not to be confused with any regular animal or human. He attempted to keep the conversation going and stopped scratching her behind the ears.
"Then why did you two decide to come to this side? I thought wildbornes didn't like it here."
She calmed down and after had listened the question that Dean made she thought for a while and then said " I guess I was curious? I have heard stories about this side of the wall so many times, that before I realized I started to dream about coming here...And you could say I was tired of being bossed around in the other side, and then the opportunity came and I'm finally here..." stopped talking and smiled at him.
"And what are you doing so close to the wall?"
Dean let the butt of his rifle rest on the ground. It didn't seem like they wanted to attack so he might as well relax a bit.
"I was out for a bit of hunting," he looked back in the direction he came," I thought I would find something good but then I heard you talking. So, I decided to see who else was out here." He couldn't get comfortable so he kept switching his weight from one foot to the other.
Any little bit of self-control that Keo might have had dissipated the instant he saw the human petting Rin. He immediately dissolved into fitful gurgling laughter that only intensified at the Wolf's reaction. He didn't even notice Dean's eyes on him for he had to duck back under the water for a moment to catch his breath before resurfacing.
He did however catch Rin's questioning of the stranger, and it was a good question indeed. What was he doing here? He seemed to at the very least know something of the Wildborne, but not enough to one one when he saw them apparently. It was curious to say the least, and that was enough to make Keo take some interest in him.
Rin heard what he said until she heard the word hunting, for a wildborne that word was something evil, because they too were part animals. Her grandma always told her that humans were dangerous for wildbornes because they liked to hunting and killing them.
She got a bit stiff and asked him "Hunting? Are you gonna try to hurt us too?"
"Gross, no," Dean let the gun drop into the dirt and shook his head,"I'm not supposed to hunt stuff I wouldn't use... or sell I guess."
Why the heck did this girl think he would hurt them," I mean, you hunt too right? I mean, you are a wolf girl."
Keo went rigid. Hunting? Real human hunting? As in with weapons rather than claws or teeth? It sounded unnatural and it wasn't something he wanted to see close up. Simple animals were one thing; even his clan sometimes ate smaller fish, and they always hunted with respect to their clan's namesake animal; but from what he'd heard through stories and legends, humans didn't distinguish between the simple creature and the Wildborne.
He eyes the resting weapon. The human had put it down at least, but that wasn't as reassuring as it should have been. Maybe Keo could grab it if it came to that, but considering his nonexistent experience with human weaponry, he really hoped it wouldn't.
Rin sighed in relieve and said "I guess you are right, but I don't hunt wildbornes in particulary, in the other side are also animals like rabits and so...hmm...I heard about a "box" that can take people to many places, do they really exist?" she asked with her eyes glowing.
Dean saw the fish boy eye his gun. He wasn't very good at reading faces but judging by Rin's previous reaction this boy didn't like it. He couldn't help but put his foot over the gun and inched it closer to himself. If his dad realized he lost his gun he would be in so much trouble.
"... You mean a bus? Or do you mean a car?" he wouldn't really think them too much like boxes but he supposed that fit the description best, "yeah they exist. I rode a bus to get closer to the woods if you felt like knowing."
Rin heard the explanation until the end "Yeah it was that! Wow that's so cool!".
She was really impressed by that information, she had tons of questions to do, but she were a bit embarrassed of doing them because it was all new to her. In the other side of the wall, were she lived, it was all very simple and didn't have that cool stuff, so she was really happy to be able to learn a bit more of this side of the wall that was completly new to her and to the fish as well.
Dean started blushing a bit. No one had ever thought riding the bus as cool before. It was just a run down thing that could barely make it to the edge of the woods. He almost felt like offering Rin a ride home if he didn't remember that she lived on the other side of the wall and that no one would react well to a girl who had a tail, whether it looked real or fake.
"They aren't that good and tend to break down a lot but my Dad says that they are much better than they used to be," he was just trying to keep the conversation going now. He didn't know what else to say to these two.
Keo listened to Dean with equal attentiveness, but a little less enthusiasm. "Buses" or whatever sounded interesting and all, but he'd gotten by just fine swimming where he needed to go. In fact, if Wildborne could get by with what they had the way it was, why did humans need to live differently, so differently that the two races had to separated even. It seemed about time that he got some of his questions answered too, even if he couldn't exactly voice them. He tried gesturing to the human, beckoning him towards the water where Keo could reach.
He hesitated but walked toward the fish boy anyway. He had picked up his rifle again so no one would take it, not that he was sure they would know how to use it. "Yes?"
He hoped he didn't look too nervous.
Keo took Dean's hand, holding his arm out by the wrist. It was highly doubtful that a human could understand his language, but he was tired of saying nothing so he began to trace letters on the human's open palm in hopes that he get something across.
y-o-u-u-n-d-e-r-s-t-a-n-d-?
He wrote slowly at first, just to test this method, but it was painfully slow to write out each letter and wait to see if Dean could decipher it. Without waiting for a response, he traced out:
r-e-a-d-l-i-p-s-?
It took him a bit to understand it but eventually he nodded in comprehension. This was going to be a bit difficult but he would be able to make it out.
"Yeah, I can sorta do it if you can be really obvious," he might have done better if he had some paper and pencil to have the boy write on but this would have to do.
She heard about them breaking down but even so she was still amazed by that!
Rin saw the boy going in the fish direction. She approach them and stayed quiet to see what the fish was trying to say to Dean.
It was a bit awkward, but Keo gradually managed to make the unvoiced words feel right in his mouth. The clumsy false-speech bent his mouth into shapes and expressions that the river-dweller was far from accustomed to, but harder than that was coming up with the right words. Land creatures really had no grasp on how inferior their language was.
Keo let go of Dean's hand and looked up to speak. The human had to crouch down just to look him in the eyes. It made him feel sort of estranged-- like he was the weird one!-- and he found himself looking Dean up and down, half-glaring at his lack of animal features. Again he struck him as too bare, too smooth.
Your face is weird, he mouthed without really meaning to.

Dean took a moment to think, staring slightly longer than necessary and possibly making the fish boy a little uncomfortable.
"My face is weird?..." He looked back at him snickering slightly. He hadn't really thought about them thinking him to be the strange one at all. After all, his entire life he was considered average and, of course, human. His snickering was becoming awkward so he decided to say, "Yours is too."
Rin watched the conversation between both of them, when she heard what the fish boy said she tried her best to not laugh. But he did have a point, he was human and had different facial features, and his body was also different from theirs too, she didn't notice that she started staring at him and observing his very movement. Until the moment that Dean told the fish boy that his face was weird too, that time she couldn't control herself and so she started to laugh really hard.
"Kyahahahaha! What kind of conversation is that?!" She said while laughing until she couldn't breath anymore.

Re: Wildborne
And to answer, most definitely still accepting characters and yes, romance is allowed between any characters.
I think it's probably safe to say that our MIA member is gone, but let's try and work around that. And since we have characters in different places right now and not everyone can post as frequently as everyone else, all rpers should try and move around on their own if necessary without relying too much on other people's posting.
Let's all do our best to get things moving smoothly again. :)
Re: Wildborne
I THINK that is okay :D
But we should wait for Inspector-Storyhead to confirm ;)

Re: Wildborne
It's hard for me to liken the era humankind is in to any real-life era, because the city as a setting and its people have basically built their civilization on the ruins of the previous one (modern day as we know it or sometime thereafter I think). Because of this, the human's civilization has some modern elements, but it's still sort of in the process of becoming what it was. I guess I'd say to think about it as if a city you know now was suddenly reduced to having only the technology and resources it might have if it were say a third world country. Does that make sense?
Re: Wildborne
joining as both a human, and a Wildborne. My only question is - what sort of era
is the human race in? I reckon some sort of feudal/medieval?
