Avatar: The Last Airbender RP

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby DCLXVI on Fri Aug 08, 2008 3:15 pm

This RP is based on the Nickelodeon show Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I would like to play out the series, remotely close to the actual plot line, starting after the Book 2 finale.
(Contains spoilers up to the Book 2 finale.)

Image

In the show, there are four nations. The water nation is divided into two parts, located at the north and south poles. These are known as the North and South Water Tribes, and are in light blue on the map. The largest nation is the Earth Kingdom, which is in yellow. The two small nations are the Fire Nation and the Air Temples. The red on the map is the Fire Nation, while the white parts are the land containing the Air Temples.
In this world, there are certain people called benders who are born with the ability to mentally manipulate certain matter. Each nation was comprised of benders (and their non-bending allies) of four types of matter, fire, water, earth (soil and rock, not plants or animals) and air. There is one special person called the Avatar who can control all four. The Avatar is reincarnated when he or she dies, and is born again in the next nation in the Avatar cycle. This cycle goes water, earth, fire, air. So if the Avatar is a born earthbender, she would be a firebender in her next life. The Avatar is born with the abilities of his or her birth nation, like a normal bender, but must master them, as well as the abilities to bend the other three elements, throughout his or her life.
In our story, the Avatar was an airbender, who, to avoid an untimely death, froze himself in a giant iceberg at age 12. This was not a good move.
Around this time, the Fire Nation was getting cocky, and decided to take over the world. They knew the only person who could stop them was the Avatar, and they knew, since the last Avatar, a firebender, had died, the next one would be an airbender, and a child. So, they killed all the airbenders. Hence "The Last Airbender."
After 100 years of war---Fire Nation vs Everybody else---two kids living in the Southern Water Tribe found the Avatar, and awakened him.
So far, those two water nation kids, one of whom (the girl, Katara) could waterbend, flew with the Avatar (did I mention he had a giant six-legged flying bison?) to the Northern Water Tribe, which was much larger (probably because it hadn't been decimated by the Fire Nation) and had many waterbenders (Katara was the only waterbender in the Southern Tribe) to teach the Avatar, and our novice bender, waterbending. Along the way, they were pursued by Prince Zuko of teh Fire Nation, who had been exiled by his father, Fire Lord Ozai, and sentenced to hunt the Avatar with his uncle Iroh. Book 1 ended with the Fire Nation siege on the Northern Water Tribe, where the Avatar mastered waterbending and took his first venture into the Avatar State. Also, Sokka (the non-bender from the South Tribe) met his first girlfriend, who turned into the moon. And we meet a mysterious girl who seems to be Zuko's sister.
In the second book, the trio meets Toph, a blind earthbending daughter of a rich family in the Earth Kingdom. She runs away with the Avatar, and begins to teach him earthbending. Meanwhile, that girl we met at the end of the season 1 finale turns out to be Zuko's younger sister, Azula, who is a madly good firebender. She has mastered the art of bending lightning, a very advanced version of firebending. She also has two cronies, Mai and Ty Lee. Mai is skilled with shurikens, and Ty Lee can poke people in certain spots to paralyze them and take away their bending abilities.
At one point in the story, the Avatar and his group find out that there will be a solar eclipse, which is the time they need to attack the Fire Nation, because all the firebenders will lose their bending. Appa, the flying bison, is stolen here.
There was a Fire Nation siege on the Earth Kingdom city Ba Sing Se (sp?) which was initially thwarted by our little group of heroes, but then we found out that Ba Sing Se was a pretty creepy place, kind of like Soviet Russia. (In Ba Sing Se, TV watches YOU.) After our group escaped, the leader of the creepiness, Long Fang (or was it Lon Fang? I could never tell.) ended up sacrificing his agency, the Dai Li, a group of elitely trained earthbenders, to Azula. Oh, and Zuko sets Appa free from his prison, allowing the Avatar to get him back. (OK, I'm getting sick of calling him "the Atavar" all the time. His name is Aang.)
I missed most of the rest of the series. In fact, I had thought they'd canceled it. However, the finale of season 2 came on TV, and I watched it. An unsuccessful attempt at attacking the Fire Nation, led by Katara and Sokka's father as well as a huge attack force occurred.
I didn't watch the rest of the series up until the season 3 finale (must get it on DVD) because if apparently wasn't playing. Zuko has joined the Avatar's group.

OK, so here we go.
Characters from the show who will be played by me if nobody takes them (all pics, abilities and personalities sections taken from Wikipedia):

ImageName: Aang
Gender: male
Age: 12 (or 112, depending on how you see it)
Nation: Air Nomads
Personality: Aang is a vegetarian, because the Air Nomads taught him that all life is sacred. Aang is reluctant to fight; he hopelessly negotiates with a spirit who is destroying a village instead of fighting. Due to his non-violent nature, he also shows ethical reluctance in killing Firelord Ozai.
Aang wishes he had been there to help his people a century ago, but would rather live a child's carefree life. He demonstrates how much he cares for those close to him and his childish qualities, even to the point of deceiving others to keep the group together.
Abilities: He demonstrates flight abilities with airbending. One technique for this is to make a ball of air and ride on it, which Aang calls the Air Scooter. Other methods of flying include his glider, and Appa.

ImageName: Katara
Gender: female
Age: 14
Nation: Southern Water Tribe
Personality: Katara is very nurturing, acting as den mother for the group. She usually cooks their meals and washes their clothes and personally takes responsibility for her brother, Sokka, and later Toph, and especially Aang. Her maternal instincts, while with good intentions, can make her overly nagging and bossy.
In addition to that, she is very stubborn, often butting heads with the abrasive, independent and often hygienically challenged, Toph. She is flawed in that she feels that she has to help everybody and is also somewhat naive, leading to Katara getting hurt through betrayal.
Abilities: Katara can use water to cut through objects, can summon lashing waves and whips of varying sizes, cover herself with a sheath of water and manipulate it at will, surf on a surfboard made out of ice, melt and control existing ice, forming it into various shapes, and can freeze water and objects surrounded by water with little effort, create giant walls of mist and steam, transform steam into ice instantly, evaporate large amounts of water. Katara once used the water from her own sweat to break herself out of a wooden jail-cell. She has learned to use and take the water from the moisture in the air, in plants and underground within the Earth. She also has learned to manipulate people and animals using the water within their bodies through a rare and sinister form of waterbending that can only be used during a full moon called "Bloodbending."
Katara is one of the few waterbenders born with the sub-talent to heal using water as a catalyst, manifesting itself when she was burned by a reckless Aang. She has used it to relieve sickness, temporarily undo brainwashing, heal seemingly mortal wounds such as burns and bleeding injuries, and even the almost dead with the help of the magical water from the Spirit Oasis. Her healing powers do have limits though as she can't cure all sicknesses, can't completely undo brain damage, and can do little for internal injuries and disfigurement like birth defects.
ImageName: Sokka
Gender: male
Age: 15
Nation: Southern Water Tribe
Personality: Skeptical, abrasive, and sharp-witted, Sokka is detached from Aang, Katara, and Toph's pursuit of the bending arts. Not gifted with bending abilities himself, Sokka instead prefers the ways of the warrior and the scientist, and he takes his responsibility as protector very seriously. He is also very intelligent and good at coming up with ideas and plans on the spot--even if said ideas are not always very good.
Patriotic and long to hold a grudge, he strongly wants to exact vengeance for the Fire Nation's decimation of the Water Tribe and the death of his mother. He holds little interest in the mysticism surrounding bending and prefers to solve problems using his strength and his wits. He tends to be rash, however, and his pride often leads to embarrassment. Despite his obvious cleverness, Sokka sometimes acts very silly if not outright foolishly. His sarcastic and absurd behavior can sometimes carry over into important decisions.
A passionate carnivore, Sokka has demonstrated his love of meat on multiple occasions and is the main hunter in the group. Sokka also has an affinity for sarcasm.Abilities: Sokka shows a remarkable proclivity towards science and is something of a jack-of-all-trades. He seems naturally adept at creating weapons out of practically anything at any time. He learned how to construct amateur explosives from his father, which he once used to simulate Firebending. In another instance, Sokka used trickery and optical illusions to help his sister Katara fake the ability to Earthbend. Working side by side with fellow technologist, the Mechanist, Sokka has managed to engineer a system of control for an experimental hot air balloon as well as conceptualize the design for waterbending-powered submarines. Sokka also demonstrated advanced math skills and a talent for geometry towards the end of the series. Alongside his trademark boomerang, Sokka is proficient in a variety of weapons, including clubs, a machete, spears, and the newest addition, an all-black jian (sword) molded from a meteorite that is capable of cutting through solid metal, that he fondly refers to as his "space sword".
Image
As the only non-bender in Aang's group, Sokka is often overshadowed by the bending skills of his friends. However, it is usually Sokka who comes up with a plan for victory. His skill in Martial Arts noticeably improves as the series progresses, though earlier in the series it was usually his persistence rather than skill that often allowed him to fight against more extensively trained opponents.
Sokka has come to learn the art of swordsmanship in order to improve his contribution to the team. Under the tutelage of the Fire Nation swordmaster Piandao, Sokka undergoes various activities, including sparring matches with the butler Fat to hone his sword wielding skills as well as arts such as painting, calligraphy and rock gardening to sharpen to his mind. Eventually, when instructed to make his own sword, he uses fragments of a meteorite that fell the night before to collect the metal needed to forge his blade. Sokka's sword, like his master's, is patterned on a Chinese jian, but unique in that due to the properties of the alien material used for its creation, the blade retains an unusual all-black appearance. The sword is also able to slice through the toughest materials, including regular metal.
ImageName: Toph Bei Fong
Gender: female
Age: 12
Nation: Earth Kingdom
Personality: As a tomboy, Toph brings a totally new personality to the group. Unlike the nurturing Katara, flighty Aang or gruff but goofy Sokka, Toph is fiercely independent, sarcastic, direct, brutally frank, and confrontational---the choleric of the group. She appears to have the same carefree and adventurous personality as Aang, and she is very tomboyish in the way she acts and dresses---a contrast to the delicate doll her parents see her as. However, unlike Aang, who avoids fighting whenever possible, Toph loves battling and takes great pride in her earthbending skills.
Toph is brutally honest when criticizing others. She is vocal about her opinions on others regardless of status or age. Her occasional spoiled attitude or aloofness may be related to her being the only child of one of the richest families in the Earth Kingdom. Thanks to her time as a competitor and champion of the earthbending tournaments, she is an expert in verbally taunting and insulting her opponents, and on occasion her friends, particularly Sokka.
Abilities: Though blind, Toph has the unique ability to use earthbending to "feel" even the most minute vibrations in the earth, be it the presence of trees and buildings or the march of ants several meters away. Through this heightened seismic sense, she can visualize where people are, their relative distance to her, and their physical build. This sense provides her with a distinct advantage when facing other Earthbenders in combat, as they characteristically require contact with the ground and extract rocks from their surroundings. As another result of her blindness, Toph has acquired an acute sense of hearing, enabling her to recognize people by the sound of their voices and home in on distant conversations. Most significantly, Toph retains the ability to sense when a person is lying based on their heartbeat and breathing patterns.
Unfortunately, due to her dependency on vibrations in the earth, Toph is left considerably vulnerable to attacks initiated in midair or opponents who require little constant contact with the ground, such as the case with Airbenders. Terrain that impairs Toph's ability to sense vibrations also hinders her abilities. She has some difficulty with sand, which constantly shifts and lacks solidity, disallowing her to accurately "feel" her surroundings, describing the vibrations as "fuzzy."
Toph is the only known Earthbender with the ability to bend metal. Metal is just a part of Earth that has been purified and refined. As a result of her ability to feel the vibrations in earth, Toph is able to locate the impurities (the small fragments of earth) and manipulate them to "bend" the metal portion. Later on, Sokka gives Toph a small piece of meteorite, which being composed of earth (of course, not earth per se) and metal, she can easily mold into a myriad of shapes, and subsequently transforms it into an arm bracelet she now wears. She has said to have learned Earthbending from the original earthbenders, the badgermoles, when she ran away to a cave and came upon them.
ImageName: Zuko
Gender: male
Age: 16
Personality: Zuko has numerous contradictory traits, beliefs, and behaviors. As a result of being raised as Fire Nation royalty, he is domineering and not afraid to assert authority, yet he adamantly refuses to view people as expendable; it was Zuko's belief that it is wrong to sacrifice young troops as a diversionary war tactic that led to his exile when he voiced his opinion and angered his father, Ozai.
Because the prospect of returning home and being forgiven was Zuko's sole motivation, he is marked by abject despair at having lost his chance early in the second season. He finds himself in perhaps the most dire situation possible, hunted by his cruel sister, Azula. Zuko had nothing, even less than his days of banishment, something he could not seem to accept. At first, Zuko turns to robbery, even stealing from those who have been kind to him. After some time, however, partially in thanks to a talk from uncle Iroh, Zuko gains a more reasonable outlook. Although theft is still necessary from time to time, he refuses to steal from already needy people, or people who have been generous in the past. He also defended an Earth Kingdom village against a group of thugs who terrorized its people after having been appointed to protect them. Over time, Zuko becomes more patient, kind, precise, and calculating; traits necessary to evade Azula's pursuit while staying incognito from local authorities.
These traits would become dominant as he displayed a considerably more optimistic attitude towards life and seemed quite content to settle for a peaceful life in Ba Sing Se. However, Azula - discovering him within the city - successfully tapped into and manipulated his still lingering desire for the love and approval of his father, and convinced him to betray Iroh and become her ally. Zuko continued to insist that he had truly changed even after joining Azula, but it became clear that he was still conflicted about his choices, and is uncomfortable with his betrayal of Iroh, who had become a father figure to him. Zuko later gets a note revealing his destiny, which leads him to learn about his great-grandfather Sozin's history. Not finding much significance, he turns to Iroh, who tells him that Avatar Roku is his mother's grandfather, whom Sozin betrayed. Iroh claims that Zuko's inner conflict is due to his good and evil nature that he inherited from Roku and Sozin respectively.
Zuko comes to realize that he must restore peace to the world by joining the Avatar and fighting the tyranny of his nation. He discards his previous beliefs in the Fire Nation's greatness, proudly proclaims his Uncle as the source of this inspiration, and defiantly swears to his father that he will help Aang defeat him.
Zuko has shown himself capable of loving very deeply. This is first shown during flashbacks of his childhood, where it is apparent he and his mother are very close, close enough for him to be devastated by her disappearance. He shows he cares a great deal for his Uncle Iroh. Even when his uncle is imprisoned, he continues to seek his advice, and is visibly hurt by his uncle's refusal to talk to him. When he finally decides to help the Avatar, he tells his father that Iroh is the source of his inspiration, not his father.
He also continues to hope for his father's love and affection, despite his banishment and his fathers treatment of him, enough for him to betray his uncle, who has stood by him through his banishment. However, on The Day of Black Sun he stands up to him, and defies him by helping Aang and his friends. Zuko also seems to share a love for his sister as he shows concern during The Southern Raiders when he believes Azula will 'not make it' due to a fall, though he quickly denies that concern when he sees she finds a way to survive.
Zuko's newfound sense of humility and peace of mind does give him the courage to ask the Avatar's forgiveness, however not the words to express it. Initially rejected by the group, he does partially earn their faith by saving them from the Combustion Man, a fact which he expresses with much joy and enthusiasm. His past crimes still haunt him, however, since even though the heroes have welcomed him, he still must work to earn their trust on account of everything he had done to them, especially Katara, who has implicitly threatened to kill him should he give her any reason to think he would betray Aang.
As for the Avatar himself, despite their past conflicts and fights, both are showing a rapidly developing friendship and trust. Though Zuko still has some issues to work through, he is far more composed and receptive. Since coming to terms with his own true feelings he has become a much more laid-back and empathic person, even though he admits to Sokka that he's "never happy."
Abilities: As well as being a proficient Firebender, Zuko has also shown to be highly skilled in the use of the dual Dao swords.
Zuko is also proficient at stealth. Zuko entered hostile territory and managed to reach his objective without being caught, although the circumstances of each separate at this point. Also, the different natures of those fortresses show that he is adaptable to circumstances as well. He is also skilled at the art of the ambush, laying cunning traps for his victims.
Like most other Firebenders, Zuko is generally agile, as can be seen in many of his battles with Aang. He is also very strong physically.
ImageName: Azula (a.k.a. Your Worst Nightmare)
Gender: female
Age: 15
Nation: Fire Nation
Personality: Ever since she was born, she was raised by her father to be a cruel, ruthless firebender and to manipulate people by controlling them through fear. She is a dedicated nationalist, relentlessly drilling herself towards perfection and will settle for nothing less. Even as a child she was seen to react with hostility when outdone. In a flashback, a young Azula is shown pushing Ty Lee over after Ty Lee beats her at cartwheeling. She is rather vain and believes that power and domination are what makes a person strong. She is known for being one of the cruelest characters in the series. From a young age, Azula demonstrated sadistic aggression and lack of remorse. She lacks empathy, treats people as objects and seems unable to view them as living beings with feelings and emotions. Her cruelty and seemingly total lack of compassion extends to many born into her family. Her apathy also accounts for her ability to create and direct lightning, as the skill requires peace of mind. It's this peace of mind that enables her to be such an excellent tactician, regularly displaying a perception and resourcefulness that allows her to take advantage of almost any situation as well as predict a person's actions and thoughts with confidence that she's right, referring to herself as a "people person."
Abilities: Azula is proficient in the difficult technique of using lightning, a pure form of Firebending. The second most noticeable feature of Princess Azula's bending is her ability to create blue flames. Azula has been seen using flames in previously unseen ways, such as jets of flames and whirling disks. Notably, Azula often firebends using only two fingers, rather than a closed fist or open hand. Azula can fight for long periods of time without tiring. She is also able to generate powerful shields of swirling flames, which she once used to withstand the simultaneous combined attacks of Aang, Zuko, Katara and Toph. She is even able to charge up her fire before releasing it, as was seen during one fight with Aang. She is able to propel herself, using her flames, in a manner similar to a rocket. This ability has also been extended as a means to fly for short periods of time. Azula is also a skilled melee fighter; she can easily block or parry all attacks without the use of Firebending. She is an extremely skilled liar, as even Toph was unable to detect her lying. (This ability to lie without altering her heart rate and breathing patterns may stem from her discipline, or from the detached aspect of her personality that allows her to inflict savage cruelty without any hint of hesitation or remorse.) She is also an accomplished tactician, as she was able to conquer Ba Sing Se, a city thought to be impenetrable.

Characters who we don't really need, but I'd like to have:

ImageName: Suki
Gender: female
Age: 15
Nation: Earth Kingdom; Kyoshi Island
Personality: As a supporting character, she wasn't fleshed out much in the episodes I saw. At the age of eight, Suki began her training, and grew up to become a fierce warrior of Kyoshi Island. Suki left Kyoshi Island not long after Aang and his friends.
Abilities: Suki is a warrior with quick speed and agility who wields razor fans as her primary weapon. Suki is a sword specialist, and a hand-to-hand combat specialist. She is revealed to be a traceuse, or a female who uses parkour.

ImageName: Mai
Gender: female
Age: 15
Nation: Fire Nation
Personality: Born to a noble family, Mai was trained from birth to hide her emotions and personal problems from other people so that she would not cause any problems for her father's political career. As a result of her mental conditioning, Mai appears constantly bored with life, and even seems to be withdrawn from her own family and friends. As such, her personality developed over time to meet the external demand to be a quiet and obedient daughter.
Initially Mai was an aloof individual. Mai usually was emotionless and sarcastic. Rarely displaying any signs of anger, sadness, or even happiness, she cared little about the events of the world, and was constantly bored with whatever is going on around her. Mai occasionally expressed a hatred for the world, and had little appreciation or fondness for beauty or vivid colors for that matter. In one instance, she displayed a strong sense of disgust when forced to wear the primarily green-colored clothing and intricate makeup of the Kyoshi Warriors.
Later though Mai's personality would change somewhat. Although she still has a thorny disposition concerning life, there are a few occasions where Mai openly expresses her emotions, usually towards Zuko. Mai would later actually display a cheerful demeanor during her time with Zuko. She was openly heartbroken when he left her to join the Avatar and his group.
Mai is not intimidated by anyone, displaying her defiance towards Azula on multiple occasions. When faced with the prospect of either swimming through a river of lava or potentially facing Azula's wrath, Mai chose to ignore Azula's orders. In another instance she threw Azula a glare when the later interrupted one of her dates with Zuko. Mai would later help Zuko escape a Fire Nation Prison, betraying Azula in the process.
Abilities: Mai specializes in throwing weapons, generally electing to pin her opponents to the nearest object rather than killing them. Her merciful streak does not blunt her effectiveness as she once soundly defeated an entire platoon of Fire Nation guards, Katara in a one-on-one battle, and held her own against a team of skilled Earthbenders.
Mai has long sleeves that conceal many throwing weapons and she carries spring-loaded holsters that carry stilettos on her wrists and ankles. Besides stilettos, Mai has also used an assortment of daggers, knives, and shuriken in battle.
In addition to her skill with shuriken, Mai is also very agile. While her agility may be inferior to Ty Lee, Mai can outmaneuver and chase down various fighters, including Firebenders, Earthbenders, and the non-bending Kyoshi Warriors.
ImageName: Iroh
Age: somewhere in his sixties
Gender: male
Nation: Fire Nation
Personality: Easygoing, friendly and dryly good-humored, Iroh treats his self-imposed exile of the first part of the series as though it were an extended vacation. Something of a hedonist in his old age, he focuses more on the pursuits of relaxation and amusements than on the pursuit of the Avatar, clashing with the dedication of his nephew. However, beneath the easy going exterior lies a wise man experienced in the ways of the world, a seasoned and wily strategist, and a powerful Firebending master.
Iroh is particularly fond of food, a good cup of tea, the strategy game Pai Sho, and pleasant music. Most likely because of his love of tea, he has shown himself to be an amateur botanist with knowledge of a wide variety of plants, though misinterpretation of some plant characteristics lead him to accidentally poisoning himself.
Abilities: Iroh is a renowned and powerful Firebender in the Avatar world. A wise old man who exercises neutral jing, Iroh's style of Firebending tends to be less aggressive than others. Iroh has a tendency to not involve himself in battle, but when he does partake in them, he displays great skill. He has a famous "Breath of Fire", which resembles a dragon breathing flames on its opponent.
Iroh stands as one of the select few Firebenders the show has revealed who possess the ability to generate lightning. Most notably, he is also the inventor of a unique technique involving the absorption and redirection of lightning. Iroh developed the technique by observing Waterbenders, who use their fluid movements to redirect attacks.
Recently Iroh used time in prison to secretly improve himself in a more physical manner, although the exact level of fitness that he has reached is unclear. He was able to perform clapping push ups and one handed pull ups. Later, it is shown that underneath his prison uniform, he has lost his ever present belly and that he is now very muscular and trim. After his escape (off screen) the bars of his cell are seen to be bent and the tied up warden informs Zuko that his uncle was "like a one-man army". Due to Sozin's Comet, Iroh finally realized his dream to re-take Ba Sing Se, albeit in the name of the Earth Kingdom.
ImageName: Ty Lee
Gender : female
Age: 14
Nation: Fire Nation
Personality: Ty Lee is a happy, sometimes ditzy, carefree individual who usually craves attention and loves having fun. Her girly personality is almost in direct contrast to the majority of Fire Nation residents, whose culture values discipline, conformity, and a streak of meanness. In short, she is the anti-Azula. She wears her feelings on her sleeves and is seen crying in front of others on a couple of occasions. Her decidedly un-Fire Nation outlook on life is known to, on occasion, annoy others, namely Zuko. She has a sense of humor, and unlike her good friend Mai, an appreciation for colors and things that are beautiful. Her desire to be the center of attention stems from the fact that she grew up with a number of sisters, all of whom, apparently, look exactly like her, and whom she thought to overshadow her. She has always wanted to retain some individuality. Her fun nature helps her bond with and eventually join the Kyoshi Warriors (after "showing them a few chi blocking tricks"), ironically making her part of another matching set.
Abilities: Her cheery disposition and harmless appearance belies the fact that she is a particularly dangerous fighter. Ty Lee specializes in striking her opponents' pressure points. Ty Lee incapacitates her victims in various ways, depending on her sequence of blows to specific pressure points and the type of blow she uses. She has the ability to render opponents unconscious, as she once does to Toph and Sokka. She can also temporarily paralyze her opponent and parts of their body, demonstrated against a sizable amount of Earth Kingdom soldiers and eventually Azula in order to protect Mai. She can even prevent her opponent from bending by blocking their chi, as she uses against multiple Earthbenders and Katara. Although Katara was able to move the affected areas, she was unable to waterbend for the rest of the fight. However, the Earthbenders were bedridden due to a large amount of pain and were barely able to move their bodies.
Additionally, Ty Lee has an unusually fantastic level of agility, able to somersault and flip several times in mid-air and perform numerous acrobatic stunts. She typically uses this ability to get closer to her opponent, where she can do the greatest damage. Ty Lee also has a great sense of balance; she is able to run on a tightrope with relative ease. Her level of agility and balance are likely gained from her time performing in the circus. One of Ty Lee's weaknesses is that she has to be close to her opponent to be effective. An opponent that keeps her at bay has the best chance of defeating her in battle although it is possible through hand-to-hand combat as demonstrated in a "re-match" with Suki.

There are other characters who appear in the series who you could play as if you like. Or, you could make your own character.

If most of the people who join, or at least show interest, would prefer a cast of all original characters, I will base this several centuries in the future or the past, and we will do that.

Right after the attack on the Fire Nation during the eclipse. I didn't see much of the series after that and up until the season 3 finale, so I've got nothing to go on for a fixed plot.

Also, if you join, you will have to put up with these: ImageImageImageImage
And me correcting your grammar all the time.

Okay, I'll join:
Name: Iroh

But the season 3 finale ends the whole series. Kind of a really short RP...

Sure. And you don't need to redo the thing like almostinsane did. Just say you're Zuko.

Now that this is going somewhere, I might as well say that I CALL SOKKA. You might have noticed by me putting TWO pictures in his description, I like Sokka.

And we will play past the season 3 finale, if it gets that long.

I call Aang. I have rather extensive fighting experience with wind/air elementals, and I have watched the whole series.

Also: May I suggest that after the season 3 finale is reached, we go to a different time with a different avatar and big villian? I think it would be great.

Sounds great. We can start once we get a Katara, but as I said if all the main roles aren't filled, by, say, the day after tomorrow, I'll play everyone I said I would. Or they can be NPCs.

Yeah, I was going to call Azula, but I figured she'd be too popular. And: Come on, it's Sokka!

As for you, Dragonlight, you can play anybody you want. If you want to make up a character, go right ahead. And don't worry, you don't need to have such a long, detailed description---I got those from Wikipedia.

Also you said this: OCC: Just PM ME with all the info discarding characters k?

Alright heres my person

Name: Shiro
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Home town: Water tribe (North Pole)
Personality: More of a quiet person who occasionally goes out of his way to crack a good joke.He enjoys reading but he especially likes books on close combat and using pressure points like ty lee but he is also a master of the Sappara blade (if sword picture doesnt show just type sappara in on google) He is a self trained fighter and swordsman and is known to be almost as skilled as Master Piandao. He is almost constantly bored and finds excitement in 2 things battle and combat books. Because he is a water bender he tends to use the power of ice to aid his battle and is known to make a second blade out of it if need be. He was also born with a unique trait... the ability to breath under water so other water benders cant do much harm to him any way. His main fault is that if he is knocked into the air... well he has his swords but he is not very agile he also is not the best jumper...but does have strength comparable to an adult man

Abilities:Ice bending, sword weilding, dual sord weilding, water breathing
Weakness: airial manuevers

Grand. Accepted!

And you know how picky I can be about grammar. (Oh, wait, you don't. Well, I can be picky about grammar.) Pretty much the only thing you can get away with (as in, I won't think to myself how you sound like a hick) is starting a sentence with a conjunction (see previous sentence.) That, and misuse of parentheses, because I don't really know how to use them...

And I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to end a sentence with one of those triple dot things...

But hey, I won't yell at you for it, other than now, unless you do something really dumb, like say "cereal killer" when you meant "serial killer."

thx i took forever to make that description and for the bad grammer i can say 2 things. 1 im just a 14 year old so what do you expect. and 2 it's summer break for me and i really dont care about my grammer right now lol. On the other hand i should be more carefull because im working on writing a book {i have up to chapter 3}

P.S. could you see the sarapa blade? if so imagine it out of steel and it being alot less dull and you have shiro's sword

Right. You're 14, so you get to use bad grammar? How old do you think I am? I'm going to be 16 in December.
I don't actually mind text speak too much, it's stuff like "your" instead of "you're" and other stuff I learned in third grade that bugs me...

But anyway, if we don't get a Katara soon I'll just start the thing...

oh i see you don't like the little errors that everyone makes i'll try to be careful. If we can't find a katara will she just be a NPC or will you just control Sakka and Katara?

NPC would work better. I find it's easier when you have someone to bounce your character off of, so we can all use her. Now, if I remember correctly, the season three finale ends with Team Avatar flying away to safety on Appa, and Zuko following in a hot-air balloon, right?
