characters disappearing?

site is painfully slow on and off so hopefully this even posts.

recently in one roleplay i'm in with a friend (more like storage, but that doesn't really matter lol) i've noticed that basically all of the character profiles are just missing? only three are displaying, and i've tried checking on other devices, browsers, clearing cache, etc, and nothing has worked or brought them back. they're still displayed in my actual characters list (and their's) just not on the actual page. is there a reason for this/can it be fixed? i'll link the page, at least, so you can see for yourself.

Try adding an avatar to the character! Since images are some of the biggest load on the site, we don't show entities for public roleplays without having a valid image — this includes Universes themselves, Places, and Characters.

I'm planning on overhauling the way we handle images altogether, but I just haven't had the time yet.

hey! so actually, all of the characters had images, so i don't think that was the problem? all my characters are still displaying in my profile with their images, so it doesn't seem like the avatars have been wiped or lost either.

Alright, I'll take a look! I haven't touched that code in maybe 5 years, so it's likely to take me some time to figure out what's going on. I'll let you know!
