The year is 2013. The Mayans were right when they predicted that utter chaos would be unleashed on December 12th, 2012. It was our advanced civilization that said that the end had to do with natural disasters. They were wrong. You see the creatures we thought never existed had been around for at least 100 years before the Mayans made their predictions. With the date of chaos set they built their numbers and waited for the day to come. On that day they attacked, killing those with political power or where high in the military. After the attack the mortals were taken and then sold as slaves.


The date was January 25th, 2013. The day is a blur to me. I can’t remember waking up, getting dressed, eating, or anything else. All I can remember was the event that took place that night.


I remember the starting bid for the 16 year female virgin; whose specialty was cooking but can do anything; was $10,000.


I remember the other numbers. $12,000, $14,000, $16,000, $18,000, $20,000, $25,000, $30,000, and $35,000.


I remember the one number that stood out the most, $1,000,000. As my head snapped up from looking at my feet for so long; which were turning blue from the cold room; to look at the highest bidder standing, I became in awe of his features.


His round mescaline shoulders and his flat well built midsection. The dark brown hair that was in a messy just woke up kinda look that, for some reason, made his icy pale skin look natural. But out of everything that I noticed about him the one thing that stood out the most were his pitch black eyes, which told me it had been awhile since he’s eaten.


I stared into his eyes for so long that I blocked out the auctioneers voice, and had been so lost in them that I couldn't feel the two men who were violently dragging me off stage, after the word sold was yelled.


I remember my mind being so trapped in my thoughts that my body went into autopilot.


‘What is this man like?' The paper work had been finalized, and the man I was standing next to was now my master.


‘Is he cruel like the men I've heard about, or one of the nice ones?’ I followed the man out of the dark, dusty, dingy warehouse, and over to his limo.


‘Will I have to live in fear again, or will I finally be safe?’ We get into the limo. Him first, then me. I sat to the left of him, closer to the window, and stared at the floor.


‘What will my new home look like, and where will I sleep?’ We arrived at my new home, and I slowly get out of the limo. My new master, who I think told me his name, lightly wrapped his arm around my shoulder and led me into the house. He walked me over to an elevator, walked me on, pressed a button, walked me down a long hallway, and into what I thought to be his room.


‘What will be my day to day activates?’ He sat me down on his bed and smiled at me while he sat down next to me. He moved the hair lying on my left shoulder, exposing my neck.


The next thing I remember the most. He started kissing my neck, softly and slowly. Then I felt a lot of pressure, like if someone wrapped their hands around my neck and was choking me.


Then the unbearable pain came. It felt like my insides had been lit on fire. I screamed in pain as I felt the burning sensation slowly moved through out my body.


As I started falling asleep, even though I was in massive amounts of pain, I watched as my master looked at me with worried eyes. I wondered why he was looked so worried when he did this to me. I watched his hand reach out to me, and then I felt him lightly stroke my hair. I watched him as my body slowly fell backwards on to the bed, and kept watching him until my eyelids finally gave up on me and I fell asleep.


Yes, for the most part, I can say I remember the day I died. The day I died and became something new and completely different. Something that would take sometime to get use to.

• It is now 7 years later, and mortals are still being captured and sold/treated as slaves.

• The law also states that mortals are not to be turned. She was turned before this law was in place, but they believe that no one would believe them.
• For some unknown reason Blessia still smells and is warm like a human, which is why no one has questioned if she is or not.
