She snorted. "By then they'll be attached to my voluminous hips." She teased him. She snuggled into him, resting her head on his chest. "I love you... Just let me stay here forever." She wrapped her arms around him. She sighed, closing her eyes again. It didn't take her long to fall asleep in his grasp.

The birthday party was a total blast. All of their friends came and brought their kids. Some weren't parents yet but they still came and had a good time. It was too short of time until Johnny had to go. Roni and the twins went as far as they could with them. There were lots of tears, not even from the twins. They didn't know what was going on. They were upset because their parents were upset.

She went home to and though her parents were still there, it wasn't the same. Half of the month went off with out a hitch. And one day she took the twins to the zoo, just her and the twins, well that and the camera crew. And just like that she was being rushed off to the hospital. She was in horrible pain. She didn't understand what was happening. But before she could even get to the hospital in the ambulance she was bleeding and not just a little. They told her that she lost the baby. She had only been there a few minutes, Stephen had the kids. They were waiting on tests on their baby to find out what happened when Roni picked up her cellphone and dialed Johnny.

She sniffled, wiping her eyes. She cleared her throat. She couldn't let him hear her cry. He still had plenty to do at work.

"I love you too." Johnny whispered, and snuggled closely to Roni, falling asleep with her in his arms.

The birthday party was quite a hit. The twins had fun, as well as old band mates, neophobia, grandparents, and camera crew. Rem even behaved himself quite well. Johnny guessed it was because all the people were there. And he stayed glued to Johnny. Mel doing the same with her mother. All too soon, Roni had both babies on her hips, crying and telling him goodbye. After he kissed both the twins heads, Steve took them, and let Johnny hug Roni. "I'll be back before you know it, alright?" He smiled softly, and stepped back, with his hands on Roni's face. "Love you." He whispered in her ear before slowly letting go of Roni, and walking away, towards his flight. Once on the plane, he called his new boss who was delighted to hear he took the job.

Half the month went by easily, Johnny keeping up with Daddy duties via Skype. He was staying in a luxurious hotel, and could see the building in which he, in fact, owned now. After accepting the job, he had literally as much authority as the guy who have him the job. Nice parking spot, grand hotel room to stay in, his own floor which included his office and two secretaries. It was the dream. He even had celebrity clients.

Then the day came for the official meeting, the day where all loose ends are tied up and Johnny is introduced. "This is Mr. O'Brien, guys. He's our new President of the Musical Association. "There was brief clapping, and Johnny felt his phone go off. Did he dare answer it? This was his new job. He had to make a good impression. He let it ring, checking his phone only when he got to his office, or his secretary anyway. "Mr. o'Brien? " Sammie stepped in his office. He looked up smiling. "No way." He stood up and they hugged." You're the secretary?" Sammie nodded, shrugging. "they called me too." Then she bit her lip. "Your wife called earlier during the meeting. "No voicemail." She nodded, as Johnny dialed her cell . "Roni? Hey?"

Johnny not picking up sent Roni into another fit of tears that only the drugs they pumped into her would stop they even made her pass out. That was until the doctor that came back and tools her they found a drug in her system. Misoprostol. Someone had slupped a large enough does into her drink to cause her to miscarriage.

How had they found out? Steve had been smart enough to bring the cup she had been drinking from. A tech there had heard of a case where a boyfriend poisoned a woman and caused her to have a miscarriage. So the tech knew what poison to test from. Apparently the tech was a huge fan of hers.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as the doctor left. Age hadn't had the heart to call Johnny again. But he veat her to that too. Her fingers were shaking as she answered the know. "Hi." She closed her eyes, leaning back in her pillows and willing herself not to break down again. Had it already been on all the news shows?

"We need to talk, love. Can you sit down and take your medicine please?" Her voice quaked with pain. Would he handle this? She needed him so bad but he needed to do his job. "Have you taken it yet?" Her voice shook as tears threatened to take over her.

"I lost Ash..." She said softly, the tears came again. "Someone has been poisoning me... and... they took are baby from us." She broke down now. She curled into a ball on her side as she sobbed, clinging to the phone.

"Take my medicine? Roni-" he swallowed, feeling his heart rate literally jump sky high. He slowed his breathing. "You know it's better to say what's wrong then tell me that what is it?" He grabbed the arm of his chair as he sat back. Sammie's eyes were glued on him.

"I know I should've called you sooner but my job was on the line when you called and-" he stopped. Listening to the silence on th phone, and Roni's confused mumbling while she cried. They'd lost the baby? She'd be poisoned? What? Did she think he did it? Who did it? Was she okay now? Johnny nearly dropped the phone if it wasn't for Sammie.

"I'm.. Sorry." Was all he mumbled before handing the phone to Sammie. She cleared her throat. "Hey, Roni. It's Sammie." She paused. "I promise I'll give the phone back to Johnny after he takes his medicine.. Again."

Roni nodded her head when she heard Sammie's voice at least he had her there. She didn't have anyone. "Yeah." She said to hear so she would know she heard her. She took in a shaky breathe, wiping at her never ending tears.

"Tell him the twins are okay? I didn't want... for him to hear it on the news... He has a job to do... I know he can't come home." A sob ripped through her at the thought of going through this alone. She couldn't drag him home though. She wouldn't make him give up his dream.

She closed her eyes wishing the medicine was doing a better job at keeping her emotions in check. She had to be strong for him. "Tell him... it's not his fault abd he doesn't have to come home okay? I... love him."

Johnny felt horrible, an awful sinking pit in hi stomach. While Sammie was coaxing Roni, as was actually stalling. Johnny was due to come home anyway, as he did so well the first time his boss let him leave. Johnny kissed Sammie's cheek before rushing off to the airport.

Sammie sighed a little, listening to Roni's sad voice. "Of course I'll tell him, sweetie. I am his secretary, after all. " she tried to joke a little. As she spoke Johnny was on his jet home, and he arrived at the hospital in his fancy suit shortly after 3. Sammie had texted him their whole conversation.

He went to the asleep Roni, slowly opening the door, and shutting it carefully. He smelled of luxury, his cologne clean, and he'd shaved himself up a little, leaving some scruff he knew she liked. "Shh.." He kissed her head and cheek. "It's okay, love. It's all okay.. " he gently sat On the edge of the bed, not wanting to get in the bed in his fancy clothes. "You're not jeopardizing anything with my job, I promise." He spoke softly, not knowing whether she was awake or not.

Roni didn't appreciate the joke but she knew Sammie was just trying to be nice to her, trying to help her stop crying. There way nothing that could stop her from feeling like she did. Nothing else in the world mattered. Nothing would be right again. Soon enough she got off the phone with Sammie. She left her phone on the table, not calling him again no matter how much she needed to hear his voice.

The nurses raised the doses again, causing her to finally pass out. She didn't hear when he finally came inside. She hadn't even known he was coming. She only stirred when he sat on the bed. She didn't open her eyes. She just listened to him. She slowly turned and looked up at him. "It'll never be okay again." She said in a small voice staring up at him.

She was tired and confused but she was sure she would never be whole again. She was like a chipped cup. Could she ever be full again? "How could I not be jeopardizing your job? You said you had to be there for a month. It's only been a few weeks."

"Oh, but it will." Johnny's eyes were soft and watery. "We'll make it through this." He took off his suit jacket, and threw it on the chair. He scooted closer, and caressed her face. "Boss said I could come home after I explained everything. And showed him my medicine. " he sighed.

"The least you could do is have some faith." He muttered. " maybe this is the universe saying we need to wait, or maybe something even better is going to happen." Johnny looked at her sadly, a tear escaping his eye. "It's heartbreaking, yes." He stood, paving the room. "But we can't let this hold us back." He then sat in the chair, and slumped down, rubbing his forehead. "Orherwise, we won't be on the same page. We'll get separated, and then we'll start fighting, and then before I know it..." He glanced at her pale- faced, tears running down.

"I'll wake up in an empty house. Alone."

"How can you say that Johnny? Someone killed our baby." Roni closed her eyes, trying not to let the tear up again. She ran a hand through her hair. She opened her eyes again, looking up at him. She sighed. "So... you won't loose this opportunity?" She asked him. "You've sacrificed so much already." She said softly.

She stared at him, unsure what to do. She placed her hand on his cheek, wiping away his tear. She was in too much pain to sit up away from her. "Maybe... maybe this is god's way of saying, maybe two was all we were meant to have." She said sadly. She wrapped her arms around her stomach, looking down where she no longer carried a child. She couldn't believe that she had lost the baby, even if it wasn't her fault.

Roni looked over at him startled. "You want us to get separated?" She asked, biting her lip. She shook in terror. Was he breaking up with her over this?

"I'm saying not to lose faith? " he looked at the ground his hands in his hair. "That's what I said, yes. Are you even listening to me?" He looked at her tiredly.

He then nearly died right then. "I didn't mean that. " he sighed heavily. "No, I don't want us to be separated. Not over this. I'm not divorcing you ever, so just get that out of your stubborn little head." He stood again, pacing the room. "I thought you'd be glad I came home to support you. You're the only reason I came home. I wouldn't of left in the first place if you didn't want me to. " he then scratched his chin, turning and continuing to walk. "heck, there are a lot of things I wouldn't of done if you didn't ok it."

Roni watched him, tears in her eyes. She didn't understand what was going on. Was it her medication or was it just there was too much going on for her to wrap her mind around. She rubbed her forehead. "Of course I want you here. But I don't want to hurt your chances at work." She told him honestly.

"I love you so much." She said softly. She shook her head, closing her eyes. She opened her eyes and looked at him after she sighed. "Please... Johnny... can you just... hold me?" She asked softly.

Johnny's eyes were watery, and he nodded simply as he walked over to her bed, and sat next to her, rolling up his long sleeves. "Y-yeahh.." He said softly, sitting next to her and letting her bury herself in him, letting his tears fall. "I.." He paused and let out a breath. "I'm so.. Sorry." He then buried his face in her hair:

Roni scooted over carefully, not to hurt herself more as she came over. She curled herself into him, resting her head on his chest. She cried softly. She nodded, silent when he said he was sorry. She was too. She wanted that baby so much. The one thing in life she knew she did really well was to be a mom. So why had this been taken away from her?

"Just promise me... promise me who ever did this is going to get what they deserve?" She asked him. "They can't get away with this." She sobbed into his chest. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect him..." She said softly. "He was still born... they let me hold him... he was so little." She told him through the sobs. "How could someone take him away from us?"

"Roni.." He swallowed. "you're asking things I can't promise or even know. I have no idea why someone took him." Johnny sighed, rubbing his hand up and down her back. He tried to just let her get it all out.

"Shh.." He rocked her for a minute, his fingertips all Up and down her back. He wiped away her tears, and let out a sigh. "It's gonna be okay.. "

Roni nodded, covering her face with his chest. She hated being so weak in front of him. She was so used to taking care of everyone else that she didn't know how to let someone take care of her. "But we'll try?" She finally looked up at him. "I need justice for our baby."

She reached up and touched his cheek. "He looked just like you. They said we can bury him after they do an autopsy. They aren't doing it until tomorrow so... if you qant to you can see him... he's so small.... he's only three pounds four ounces."

"Of course we will try. Don't play dumb." He snorted, and held her head in his hands against his chest. "I.. Don't think that's a good idea if I go see him. " Johnny quieted drastically, and he had his nose in Roni's hair. "Let's see what's on tv shall we?" Johnny had no idea how big of a mistake that was.

Every single news channel had their story on it. It was probably international by now. "Dear god." He snapped, and shut it off. "Can't we have privacy to properly mourn our loss? Our did we give up our whole life to some news channel?" He muttered, talking to himself more than Roni.

Maybe he'd go see the baby if Roni fell asleep.

Roni nodded slowly. "I wasn't sure if you would... mom and dad couldn't... they have the twins and the body gaurds are with them." She told him. She rested her head on his chest as he flipped on the tv.

Her heart sank. Seeing just clips from someone with a camera who caught video in pain and then the ambulance. She winced, closing her eyes and burying her head in his chest again. She didn't need to relive it. "Price of fame." She said weakly. The pain and antidepressant drugs started dripping into her system. "Thank you for being here." She said softly.

The drugs were high doses so they made her sleep a lot. The doctor came in to check on him and was a bit surprised to find him there. He was quiet as he xame over and extended his hand. "I'm Dr. Coleman. I assume you are Mr. O'Brien, I'm so sorry for your loss."
