Description

Lane Strayer

Image

Gender: Female
Date of Birth: 3/13
Age: 19
Determination: The need for an adventure.
Position: Captain of The Cardinal Rose

Appearance: Her black hair is usually kept up and out of her face making it easier to see. She’s thin and agile, making her preferred weapon easier to handle. Her face normally shows one of indifference, boredom or joy, depending on the situation.

Preferred Clothing: White blouse, black pants and boots. Dark grey trench coat.

Preferred Weapons(s): She prefers to use a sword and though she carries one, rarely uses a gun.

Height: 5’4
Hair Color: Black
Eye Color: Grey

Personality: She hates talking about her emotions under any circumstance. She tends be very feisty and sarcastic. She is not very good with emotional people and tends to be awkward when other people cry. She won't cry in front of people and refuses to ask for help from other people. She is very smart, even considering her background. But, despite all this, she has a fairly laid back outlook on life and will treat her allies and friends with respect. Going with that, Lane can be known to show some of her emotions to her friends, mostly happiness.

Likes: She likes swords, chocolate and her ship.

Dislikes: Traitors and mutineers, loud unwarranted noises.

Fears: Losing her ship, people who try to take away her freedom.

Skills: Skilled with a sword and in hand-to-hand combat.

Personal History: Being the youngest of four and the only daughter, Lane grew up in a very sheltered lifestyle. Her family refused to let her out of their sight and never really gave her her own freedom. By the time she turned 13 she was tired of it. She began to sneak out a few nights a week and would spend hours on the street learning how to pickpocket. She enjoyed her newfound freedom so much that she began to sneak out on a nightly basis. But soon her family found out when she was 15 and she was kept under even tighter watch than before. With the money she collected pickpocketing over the two years (which was a lot), Lane ran away and became a crewmember on a ship. By the time she turned 18 she could afford to procure her own ship and thus became a captain.

Other: She’s never had any relationships.

So begins...

Taylor Briggs

"Mr. Hothead? Heh, I'm thinking you got the wrong guy, ma'am." Taylor knew all to well that Trinity was the frisky type; she'd parade around teasing men and egging them into losing their heads and money. She was the typical treasure hording pirate, at least that's how she acted. He could recall numerous voyages with the vixen pirate, knowing full well her sexual tactics. Either way, he shrugged her off, eyeing her as she dragged the young newcomer out of the bar. 'Searching for a crew, heh, good luck lil' missy.' He knew full well that he could help her greatly, but he wouldn't offer his services so easily, she would have to ask him first. It seemed today would prove an interesting day with another newcomer entering the bar. "My, my." Taylor was simply muttering to himself now, figuring the patrons were loud enough to cover his talk. He watched as the second newcomer sat at the bar and swiveled around, examining the patrons. "You wont find a crew here, sorry." He didn't particularly enjoy killing anyone's dreams or plans, but he was simply being honest. Most of the patrons here are long retired or are simply here resting from long voyages. There were obviously the few like himself that were open for hire, but they wouldn't just openly brand themselves as up for hire. "You're going to have to prove yourself to these men, they're some of the toughest pirates in terms of judgement. I can say that being a woman doesn't help much..." Again, Taylor didn't enjoy killing anyone's plans but he was simply being honest in this situation.

Lavi

Brushing past the group of people that seemed to be flitting in and out of the well-lit tavern, Lavi happily made his way over to the crowded counter, snatching up the bartender's attention. Despite the drunken, chaotic atmosphere, the redhead wasn't interested in ordering a drink. Instead, he simply asked the man if he had seen a certain blue-eyed girl or white-haired male. His smile faltered a bit when the other responded in the negative, but the soon-to-be captain just shrugged it off with a lazy grin and a warm 'thank you'.

The slightest edge of a pout seeping into his features, Lavi shifted around and scanned the popular room himself. That redheaded girl he had met a while ago really wasn't here, nor was the small kid that reminded him of a puppy (for some reason). A sliver of doubt crept up his spine, but he quickly shook it off. He was pretty sure they wouldn't stand him up—that's just not who they were. And Lavi was a pretty good judge of character. Or at least, so he thought.

Not wanting to melt into the background like all the others draped around the edges of the room, Lavi set off to get some fresh air, only to pause mid-step as his gaze landed on a certain charcoal-coated beauty. Like wow. She was cute! Not to mention, she appeared to be alone at the moment. All the better to go over and chat her up, yeah? A catlike smirk slid across Lavi's features as he strolled over to her, head held high and expression clearly devious—but friendly. "Heya, beautiful~ Mind if I keep ya company for now?" He didn't mind spending some time with a pretty girl such as herself; he needed something to do while he waited for his potential crew mates, anyway.

Lavi

Taking her silence as total acceptance to his oh-so-generous offer, Lavi plopped down in the stool next to her, smile widening with every second. "Are ya shy? If you are, 'tis kinda strange for a soft-spoken girl like you t'be found amidst these rambunctious fellas, eh?" Perfectly okay with having a one-sided conversation if that were truly the case, Lavi propped his chin atop his palm, drifting closer, well aware of the lovely lady's personal boundaries. "Speaking of, are you lookin' for someone in particular? I couldn't help but notice, Miss...?" Trailing off, he lazily gestured toward her with his free hand, expression lit with benign curiosity. "You can call me Lavi, by the way."

While he awaited a response, his gaze involuntarily drifted to the entrance again. Where in the world were those two? They didn't make off and join another crew, did they? No... Of course not. Blinking out of his momentary daze, Lavi instantly switched his attention back to the girl next to him, a hopeful thought trickling into his mind. With or without the other two main members of his crew, the redhead would always need more aboard his ship. Would this girl be interested?
