Lavi

Theme Song: Night of the Hunter - 30 Seconds to Mars

Gender: Male
Nickname(s): "Junior" ( childhood nickname that always stuck with him; given to him by Gramps )
Date of Birth: August 10th
Age: 19
Determination: Always on the move, traveling the world, dropping and gaining new aliases, Lavi was never able to maintain a stable relationship with anyone. Except his mentor, whom he referred to affectionately as "Gramps" or "Old Panda". Although not blood-related, the redhead grew deeply attached to the old man - despite being taught that "attachments" were inconvenient - and was hit pretty hard with his unexpected death. Lavi never took his mentor's age into consideration; soon, the very idea of dying scared him. What better way to avoid such a fate than to seek out this so called place of "eternal youth and wealth"? There was so much else he wanted - and needed - to do, yet, there was so little time in life.
Position: Captain! ...Although he still has yet to think of a name for his lazily put-together crew. Ah well. He figured it'll come to him eventually.
Though seemingly lazy and careless most of the time, Lavi could be a serious and focused captain if the time truly called for it. Though he has a bad habit of getting his ass into gear at the very last minute.

Appearance: Having been born with naturally-red hair, Lavi takes no shame in flaunting it once in a while, one of his favorite traits about himself. Bordering on obnoxiously bright however, he would admit that it attracts unwanted attention at times... Though, to be fair, the male normally likes being the center of attention nowadays. Regarding his other features, Lavi is almost always seen with his trademark eye-patch and bandanna. Or, if not his bandanna, he'll definitely be wearing his captain's hat, jokingly embroidered with a goofy little bunny with an eye-patch. Although he tends to misplace his hat a lot, for unknown reasons.
Lavi is of Asian descent, even if he may not appear as so, since there's other races mixed into his bloodline as well. Slightly muscular, he's rather lean, but ultimately fit through years of intense training with his mentor. A natural historian at heart, having not always been a pirate, the training was more or less a means of being able to defend himself if there was ever a moment in which he needed to do so.

Preferred Clothing: Warm and overbearingly friendly on the outside, the redhead can be seen dressed in whatever he feels like at the moment, never anything too formal. Casual and sometimes messily dressed, never paying attention to the lesser details. Besides, his personality - and others' - is what concerns him most.

Preferred Weapons(s): If not his charming good looks and witty nature ( how he wishes ), then he would more than likely draw out his scimitar. He tends to like traditional approaches.

Height: 6'1
Hair Color: A flaming red
Eye Color: A sometimes dark, muddled, forest green; otherwise, a normally exuberant olive

Personality: Quirky and talkative by nature, Lavi is easily excited by the idea of meeting new people, forming new acquaintances, gaining valuable allies... His new "relationships", however, are actually shallow and meaningless to him. Trusting others doesn't come easily to the redhead, especially now that he's on his own, without his guardian's advice or comforting presence. Distanced from nearly everyone he had come into contact with in the past, the present was no different. To gain his genuine friendship and care, one would have to work hard at prying away that sunshine-filled facade he plasters on.
Despite being generally wary and skeptical about other people, it doesn't change his flirtatiously cheesy and goofy nature. More specifically speaking, his attitude toward women. If anything, it could probably be considered a weakness, as Lavi can easily be distracted and rendered oblivious at times in the presence of pretty girls. That factor doesn't completely stupefy him though. He's well aware women can be just as dangerous as men, sometimes more so. And if a beautiful little lady were to strike at him for whatever reason, he'd more than happily engage in an almost "playful" fight with her, teasing and flirting all the while.

Likes: Steak, sweets, women, naps, reading, teasing, adventure, numbers, history, accents...and his real friends ( only "real" one at the moment is Gir )

Dislikes: Anything spicy, being nagged, too much manual labor, being forcibly woken up from a nap, not succeeding in gaining what he wants

Fears: Death in general, becoming too attached to something - or someone - and losing them too ( like his mentor )

Skills: Raised to be critical and perceptive of others, Lavi tends to notice subtle details about a person, sometimes mentally noting completely irrelevant information. He likes to think of people as books, simply meant to be read and nothing more. And once he's done with a book, having learned everything inside and out, it loses his interest. Same with people.
Besides that, Lavi is fairly educated on the subject of history, sometimes randomly blurting out facts that cross his mind at the moment when talking to someone. Of course, he's always eager to learn even more information about something, no matter how pointless or small the tidbit of info might be. It's more or less his job as a historian.

Personal History: Though his early childhood is a bit blurry to him, he remembers growing up on biscuits and oranges, too busy traveling from place to place to settle down and enjoy actual meals. When he and Gramps did stay a while in a certain town or city, they would always stay on the outskirts, isolated from the main hustle and bustle within the streets. The people they met varied; some shady and greasy, others puffed-out and stuck up, or, if Lavi was lucky, sometimes they encountered rather sweet and gracious strangers, even going as far as to offering them a place to stay. Not that the Old Man would ever take them up on that offer however.
After they had gained all that they needed from the places they visited, Lavi learned to discard the people he met like his aliases, easily adopting new ones when the time called for it. Or rather, when his mentor called for it.
Mentally unprepared for the elder man's death, the redhead's shock said what he could not. He was just not ready. Sure, he may have been a grown adult practically, at nineteen, but withdrawn from society all his life only to be thrown unexpectedly into the middle of it was a bit unnerving, to say the least. Unable to fully comprehend how alone he actually was now, Lavi left the rundown inn they had been staying in, not even bothering to disclose any information to the keepers of what had happened. They would take care of Gramps' body, he figured, maybe even bury it in a last minute, sloppily put-together coffin. Maybe. All he really knew at that moment was that his chest hurt, aching terribly with some foreign feeling. Attempting to brush the strange, new experience off, he swallowed the tiny bit of guilt he felt and kept walking. And that's when he heard the rumors. This glorious place; surely it wouldn't hurt to see it at least, right? To defy age and death, wouldn't that be worth the risk? Currently broken and desolate, Lavi promised himself he'd make it there. Some way or another.
To this day, though he hates to admit it, hijacking someone else's ship wasn't his brightest idea. Even if he wasn't exactly in the best state of mind in that present moment...

Other: Lavi's interest in women - more or less the flirting that ensues when he's around them - branches off of his subconscious need for some sort of intimate interaction. Despite his rather absent social life, he's still a teenage boy. Or young man. It truly didn't matter to him how others viewed him.
Most of the time, due to the bubbly and social personality he puts forth, he tends to slur his words together, almost as if he can't get the words out fast enough. If he's thoroughly pissed, or just being completely serious, he speaks more clearly, saying each word with slow precision.
When introducing himself, he simply tells others to call him 'Lavi' or 'Junior'. Plain and simple. However, 'Lavi' is not his real name - just another alias. And if he were to be honest, even if he wanted to tell someone his real name, he wouldn't be able to. He inexplicably forgot all his previous personas when the Old Man passed away. The 49th, 'Lavi', would be what he stuck with from now on.

Lavi

Brushing past the group of people that seemed to be flitting in and out of the well-lit tavern, Lavi happily made his way over to the crowded counter, snatching up the bartender's attention. Despite the drunken, chaotic atmosphere, the redhead wasn't interested in ordering a drink. Instead, he simply asked the man if he had seen a certain blue-eyed girl or white-haired male. His smile faltered a bit when the other responded in the negative, but the soon-to-be captain just shrugged it off with a lazy grin and a warm 'thank you'.

The slightest edge of a pout seeping into his features, Lavi shifted around and scanned the popular room himself. That redheaded girl he had met a while ago really wasn't here, nor was the small kid that reminded him of a puppy (for some reason). A sliver of doubt crept up his spine, but he quickly shook it off. He was pretty sure they wouldn't stand him up—that's just not who they were. And Lavi was a pretty good judge of character. Or at least, so he thought.

Not wanting to melt into the background like all the others draped around the edges of the room, Lavi set off to get some fresh air, only to pause mid-step as his gaze landed on a certain charcoal-coated beauty. Like wow. She was cute! Not to mention, she appeared to be alone at the moment. All the better to go over and chat her up, yeah? A catlike smirk slid across Lavi's features as he strolled over to her, head held high and expression clearly devious—but friendly. "Heya, beautiful~ Mind if I keep ya company for now?" He didn't mind spending some time with a pretty girl such as herself; he needed something to do while he waited for his potential crew mates, anyway.

Lavi

Taking her silence as total acceptance to his oh-so-generous offer, Lavi plopped down in the stool next to her, smile widening with every second. "Are ya shy? If you are, 'tis kinda strange for a soft-spoken girl like you t'be found amidst these rambunctious fellas, eh?" Perfectly okay with having a one-sided conversation if that were truly the case, Lavi propped his chin atop his palm, drifting closer, well aware of the lovely lady's personal boundaries. "Speaking of, are you lookin' for someone in particular? I couldn't help but notice, Miss...?" Trailing off, he lazily gestured toward her with his free hand, expression lit with benign curiosity. "You can call me Lavi, by the way."

While he awaited a response, his gaze involuntarily drifted to the entrance again. Where in the world were those two? They didn't make off and join another crew, did they? No... Of course not. Blinking out of his momentary daze, Lavi instantly switched his attention back to the girl next to him, a hopeful thought trickling into his mind. With or without the other two main members of his crew, the redhead would always need more aboard his ship. Would this girl be interested?
