The Races

Belua are a race of beastly creatures, which range in appearance from humans with monstrous characteristics to sentient animals. They are not as widespread as humans, but they do have their own kingdoms and lands. Two of their kingdoms, Saturyn and Inikua, struggle to maintain peace with humans due to prejudice on both sides. Morflowis and Westyria both are intermingled with humans, and as such are mostly peaceful with the other kingdoms.
When Belua are not born with magic, they may have parts or bodies of non-magical animals such as wolves or bears, including the ears, eyes, tail, limbs, teeth, or fur of such beasts. When they are born with magic, or exposed to it, they may develop parts of magical creatures such as the horn of a unicorn or wings of a dragon. In some cases, they develop something else entirely, and in such cases, they are often either a powerful magic user themselves, or they were exposed to a very large amount of raw magic.
Similar to Fel, those Belua with claws or fangs of beasts have the ability to change the size of them, up to several inches in length. Some Belua have the ability to completely change their form into that of the beast they may have acquired similarities to.
There is a rarer subgroup of Belua which has powerful magical capabilities, as well as the ability to move through dimensions and a greatly extended lifespan. These Belua are known as Demons. They are not born among Belua or humans, and it is unclear how they come about.

Dragons are a powerful magical race which are believed to be immortal, as the death of one has never been recorded. They are naturally curious beings that seek knowledge from birth, and are known for their wisdom and wit. Some see the smaller races as inferior beings or pests, while others regard them as friends, food, or disciples. Dragons have the ability to sense the otherwordly and have a strong connection with the world and magic, leading some to revere them as gods.
Most dragons have a strange sense of time, seeing a century as a mere blink of an eye. They often have exceptional memories and some can remember dates and times of events they've witnessed.
Dragons have the ability to shapeshift and many use this to gather knowledge from other races.
Very few dragons will give knowledge on distant history, and will usually only give information on events which were not fully recorded by the other species, but still witnessed.

Fel are an animal-like race similar to belua, with cat-like ears and tails. They have far keener senses than that of belua and humans.
Royal fel are often larger, stronger, and have the ability to make their claws and fangs larger than wild fel. There is only a single fel kingdom, mostly containing royal fel, but the kingdom is sprawling.
Wild fel are much more spread out, though elusive, and most act as semi-nomadic tribes. They are fully nocturnal as opposed to their diurnal royal counterparts, and their appearances are closer to humans than royals are. Wild fel often do not care much for other races and avoid them, only making contact to trade.
Wild fel are capable of making their claws and fangs grow several inches and razor sharp, and royal fel can make theirs somewhat longer and stronger. Fel teeth and nails are naturally sharp, strong, and pointed, and rarely break.
Fel are very adaptable, and within a few generations can evolve certain traits to help them in their environment, such as larger ears or shorter, more compact bodies.
When Fel are born with or exposed to magic, they acquire avian or bovian traits such as wings or horns.

Lastly, there are humans, a hardy race capable of quickly bouncing back from whatever the universe throws at them. Their population and technology develop quickly in comparison to the other two mortal races.
