Introduction
The country of Fallon is a complex one. A single King with several wives, his first of which is the Queen. Many princes and princesses, each with their own guard. A new rumor every month. Nothing seems to be going right in Fallon, a country once envied for its prosperity and peace. And on top of everything, the King is dying. He is to leave the throne to an heir of his choice, but recent complications have left the man unable to read and write.
Inside the walls of Fallon's Royal Castle, everything is falling apart. Siblings are vying for power. Nobles and mages are backing up their obvious choices. The servants are planning a rebellion. What's next?

The House of Velicylus is the House that belongs to the first prince of Fallon and his mother, the Queen. He has the largest following of all the candidates for the throne because of his firstborn status. However, most servants resent him and he is not popular with the Order of Mages because he believes Magic should be outlawed.

In the country of Fallon, Magic is considered powerful, rare, and difficult to control. Very few people possess the gift of Magic and even fewer choose to pursue a career as a mage. If someone chooses to become a Mage, they are subjected to rigorous training to control their Magic and project it into the form of spells. However, despite popular belief, magic is very limited.
First and foremost, spells are not spoken, they are formed in the mind. A trained eye can tell when spells are being used, but this is a rare skill. Spells are more or less thoughts put into action. If a mage wants to move a leaf, he would think of the action and it would happen. Of course, it is not that simple. For spells to work, a mage must tap into the Essence of the object the spell is being forced on. Some objects may willingly take in the magic, others may take a bit more persuasion. On another note, spells must always act upon something. Wind, a chair, a person, the ground, they all contain an Essence that is manipulated to control Magic. A larger object will take more Magic and therefore, more energy. A mage cannot will something into existence neither can they act upon an abstract thought such a time or thought.
Note: The more skilled the mage, the more Essence they can control at one point in time.
The Order of the Mages was created to set boundaries on acceptable kinds of Magic as well as teach young Mages. The Order is headed by the High Mage and the organization itself is scattered throughout the country. Guardians come from the Order.
Guardians are the protectors of the royal family. When a new prince or princess is born, they are then connected to a newborn or young mage. This connection is a difficult process that strings the Essence of the two children together. It is a bond that cannot be broken. The bond itself has benefits as well as drawbacks. Telepathic communication and the ability to move Magic between the Guardian and royal child is a power that comes with the connection. However, even if the Guardian and royal child hate each other, the bond can never be severed. After the death of one or the other, the living side will slowly descend into madness, feeling the Essence of their partner, but never seeing them.

I've been on this site for over eight years(this isn't my first acct.) and there has always been certain people who seem to enjoy making RPs but not finishing them. At this moment I have a short list of people whose RPs I won't even bother joining anymore. They have WONDERFUL ideas and BEAUTIFUL time-consuming RP pages and CS Templates, but they NEVER see their RPs to fruition. It's like they have ADD or simply enjoy the process of writing up an RP and accepting CS's but not actually maintaining it.
There's also a small group of writers who seem to be more interested in making CS's then posting. The same few people will create incredibly elaborate CS's that put mine to shame - and mine are time consuming enough - then never post or post once then go MIA. They enjoy the process of creating a ton of characters but never actually writing as them o_O.
Seems easier to maintain 1x1s then group RPs nowadays, which is sad...because while I love 1x1s I also love group RPs! =(

Yeah you know, I'm starting to go into RP's on this site with the mindset of "this probably won't start" or "this probably won't last." It's sad but true. In recently memory I've only found one person on this entire site who kept an RP with me going past the 2nd or 3rd page....and even he is nowhere to be found now. It's the sad reality of things on here atm. It's the same people ditching after a post or two, the same GMs who are more into creating RPs then keeping them going(Not including Starlight in this because I'm not familiar with her/his RPs), and the same sad group of us who are always left wanting to start or wanting to post again but not being able to because everyone else has left or gone MIA.
