Introduction

Superpowers are a thing. In 2014, people suddenly began developing them. Telekinesis, mind control, super-strength, and otherwise. People who did not gain superpowers, obviously enough, began generally resenting those that did. People who gained superpowers were not the majority. Those with powers, dubbed 'Powered', were seen as threats.

The United States government decided to combat this dislike of Powered individuals by introducing superheroes to combat the sudden influx of supervillains. Teams of heroes were made to do this. This is project Atlas.

Our characters are part of a two person team. A Powered individual's ability is classified by the format of 'Type-Level'. An extremely strong super-strength Powered individual would be a Strength-B individual. An extremely powerful telekinetic would be a Telekinesis-A individual. The rankings(in order from greatest to least powerful) are: S, A, B, C, and D. The 'E' rank stands for 'Experimental', meaning that an individual's power is not measurable.

Our characters will be S-Class Powered individuals. So, every move they make will be monitored closely by the people and the government. They will face hate and prejudice. They will learn to work together. They will learn that their actions do have consequences.

'Rankings'

Powered individuals are 'ranked' based on how, relative to their peers or an average human, their ability is. The ranking system is written in a 'Type-Level' format. The 'type' section is replaced with the type of ability itself. The ranking systems used tend to vary on what country you're in or who you're asking, but most people tend to use the 'Veridian' format, made by Dr. Alex Veridian.

S Level - S level mutants are dangerous. They are the strongest of the strong. An S-level Telekinetic could could, with enough practice and determination, slice a building in half. An S-Level super-strength Powered individual could, with enough determination, rip apart nearly any substance. Etc.

A Level - A Level mutants are powerful, but not as much as A Level mutants. An A level telekinetic could carry cars, bikes, and otherwise. An A-Level super strength individual could carry trucks, cars, bikes, and the such.

B Level - B levels are your above-average Powered individuals. A B Level telekinetic could carry people, dogs, small animals, swords, and the such with relative ease. A B level super strength individual could carry people, bend metal, and the such.

C Level - C levels are your Powered individuals of average strength. C Level telekinetics could carry pencils, erasers, and small objects with ease. C level super-strength individuals could carry more than their body would normally allow, but not anything too notable. C levels tend to be looked down on by A/S level individuals.

D Level - D levels are 'weak'. D level telekinetics can move small objects, not carry, with a bit of effort. There are no D level super-strength individuals.

E Level - E levels are 'experimental'. These are, perhaps, the most dangerous. E levels tend to be those who's ability type hasn't yet been documented. They can be looked down on or revered, depending on the individual you ask. E levels are unpredictable, generally speaking.
