Introduction
Five heroes march through the great storm, charging through debris and defeating feral beasts on their way towards the grey funnel. All five of them have made it through It's trials; the trials of Apocalypse. They enter the daunting twister, pushing into the eye of the storm. Once they enter, they encounter It for the first time. Apocalypse in a form suiting their world.
He turned around to face them, fully expecting them.
"Ah, champions of Tyrosia..." Apocalypse spoke in a voice befitting the embodiment of evil; deep, sinister, and somewhat amused, "you did not disappoint. I only lament that we do not have much time to talk. You have come too late; your world will come crashing down around you, and all will perish and burn as a great wave of fire purges this world."
In an instant, like a flash of lightning, fire burst forth from the tornado and engulfed the whole of Tyrosia. The heroes were cast aside like rag dolls, flying through air and landing on the scorching earth. Indeed, all life throughout the land had been extinguished, save for a single hero. One of the five had survived, and again been chosen. This time, as the hero of the earth. All of its natural energy, and the energy of the other four hero's poured into this one man.
He then embarked on a journey to defeat fate, and restore his world...

The Story
Time can be represented by a straight line. It is rigid, unbendable, stable. That was until the catastrophe that was the Time Break. Not more than a century ago, a group of five heroes went on a quest to destroy a creature known as Apocalypse, perpetuating a cycle that has been in effect since the dawn of time. However, they failed against this world-ending evil called Apocalypse, but discovered that they were mere tools of fate; born and predestined to continue the cycle of balancing light and darkness.
Though four out of the five gave their lives, one survived to break the cycle. He confronted fate's greatest agent, Destiny. With the legendary power he had gained from his fallen comrades, he struck down the being known as Destiny and attempted to end the cycle once and for all and perhaps save his world. However, in the process, the hero had destroyed time as a rigid structure. He had created a fluid time-line that could branch off and take different paths. No longer was man and the rest of the inhabitants of Tyrosia confined to a single destiny, no longer would they be ushered on a straight path. The Time Break had occurred, creating separate time-lines and separate dimensions.
The World
Tyrosia is a fantasy world, however, humans are the featured race. There are only two others, Vialans (fish people) and Drakonians (half dragon half human). However, it is possible in other "worlds" for different races to exist. The world in which you live is an alternate time-line that broke off from the main continuity. Apocalypse has risen again, but this time, it is almost certain it will succeed against the forces of the light and destroy the world. All characters start on the west coast of the continent Grandia, the largest landmass in Tyrosia. You are all in the metropolis known as Golden Rock.

Re: [OOC] Ripple Effect: To the Dawn of Time
Answer: Drakonians(half dragon half human) and Vialans(half fish half humans, not mermaids, think abe sapien from hell boy). Countless others my exist in other worlds/timelines/dimensions.
-What is the technology like?
Answer: Everything is powered by Essence which also grants spellcasting abilities. Weaponry is all medieval-esque, however many technological marvels exist in Tyrosia. From record keeping orbs, to never extinguishing lanterns, Tyrosia is by no means backward.
-What's the plantlife like?
Answer: I always imagined it like earth's but I suppose it should be different. Do you have experience with botany, or maybe a great imagination for creating that stuff? If so I would gladly accept your help.
-What are the animals like?
Answer: There are many unique creatures which will exist in Tyrosia. However, some species from earth are common in the world. Wolves, bears, and primates are relatively the same. Sea monsters and other such great beasts are formidable, but rare in the world.
-How do people use magic? Is it common?
Answer: People use magic by taking doses of a refined naturally occuring substance called Essence. Doses are taken periodically to maintain the effects which allow spellcasters to use specific abilities. It is common amongst the military, but public use is not yet widely accepted. However, in certain areas of Tyrosia the people have taken to regularly drinking of natural Essence wells which causes strange and random effects.
-What kind of rule is the land under (Anarchy, Monarchy, Democracy, etc)?
Answer: Most nations are monarchies, but democracies and republics are not uncommon. I will go into more detail developing and detailing the nations when I have more members.

[OOC] Ripple Effect: To the Dawn of Time
Hello RPGateway! I am Gluttony, and I am honored to bring you this fantasy epic inspired by the melding of sci-fi and fantasy in JRPG's. However, it will incorporate western style storytelling as in LOTR. I don't mean to put it on that level, but promise that you will be in good hands if you join my RP. I have plenty of experience as an RPer and GM. This isn't a hollow or generic RP, this is a completely original RP. Everything introduced in this RP by me plot, character, or world-wise belongs to me. None of this has been borrowed, or stolen from any other sources. Every single name in this RP was thought of by me, or used by me without my knowledge of its previous existence. Thank you, and please check out the link and join in on the fun. It will be a hell of a ride!
