[color=#424242]The contents of this role-play are based off of the movie Short Term 12.
The kids lash out; physical fights and verbal turmoil erupt daily. Emotional break downs, panicked fits, and nightmares occur often. The food is decent, the rooms are just alright. Temporary. Short term.

Purposefully geared toward the teenage population, these companions are young adults. Many of whom have flawed backgrounds and can find solid meaning in the work. Some have even been in the system themselves. They're sole purpose is to provide a safe and loving environment. Nothing more. They are not to interpret tears, or be a therapist. They are supposed to be solid providers, but maintain a sense of detachment.
But how are these young adults supposed to remain unattached when they take care for the children? They feed them, speak with them, play with them, help them with their homework, and everything in between. It's a hard balancing act.

Starter rules for being a companion:
1. If a child wants to leave, they are legally allowed exit the community. However, there is someone trained to talk an emotional child down at the gate 24/7.
2. If a child sets foot outside of the property line you are not legally allowed to touch that child. If you pursue the child, you must follow 10 paces behind or walk beside them with permission.
3. Companions are to encourage communication with and between children. It is vital that they trust their roommates, housemates, and companions.
4. If any fight occurs, verbal or physical, there is to be prompt separation of the children. Punishment and restrictions will always follow suit according to the situation.
5. If there is no community phycologist available, any kind of emotional break down or outburst is to be directed to the Cool Down Room; a room full of sensory tools and a sling back punching bag.

THE KIDS
Everyone has a reason to be in the system. Not everyone talks about it though. From a diverse set of backgrounds, these kids find more then things to disagree with than otherwise. It's hard to set your differences aside when all you can think about is how you're going to survive.
The rules:
1. There is no cussing, dirty language, or obscene gestures
2. You are not allowed in a bedroom you are not assigned. With strict regulation and permission, those with good standing in the house may visit in another bedroom. Those of the opposite sex must keep the door open.
3. All residents must attend the community meeting every evening before dinner.
4. Anyone who is danger to themselves of others is subject to having the bedroom door removed at any time.
5. Positively no fighting, no bullying, and no name calling.
6. All potentially dangerous objects are stowed in a safe in the kitchen. A companion will gladly lend out these items when asked.

Side note: If you don't see any kind of character that you like, please just ask if you can make something else. I'm open to ideas of having therapists, other kids from a different house, and other kinds of workers in the RP as well.
RULES:
1. This is a literate role play. That requires at least a good three or four paragraphs a post.
2. Reservations are roughly 48 hours from the time you ask for it. Even just a WIP is great. It shows you're actually working on it.
3. Don't just disappear, if you're going to be gone at least warn me.
4. Post often, I'm expecting at least a couple posts a week.
5. Don't be afraid to be creative!
6. I want there to be history and drama between the characters, create it!
7. Have fun, don't be rude/mean and all that jazz!

Collectibles

I would love to play a girl who is pregnant here. I feel like it would add a good layer of drama to the story. If girl 1 is still available that would be perfect. If not I might be able to work it into another character. :) this idea is just amazing honestly.
