The idea of super humans has always been part of mythology, Hollywood stories, and science fiction. Scientists study animal DNA in a bid to continue improving human existence and improve technology. One such group had big dreams to create the new generation, complete with inhumane abilities. They wanted to evolve human race beyond what it was currently and current evolution was taking too long for their liking. The project was funded by the government and started in the year of 2010. The main goal was to harness elemental abilities, earth, wind, fire, and water. They began small with animals and many of their experiments died early or with gross mutations like extra arms and legs, blind, and some even were born without without appendages. It was truly a horror story in the lab but the scientists didn't want to give up. Not yet. They did finally have success and saw animals that had minor elemental manipulations but considering that these were animals, they thought it was wise to stop there. Animals wouldn't know how to control their abilities after all and there had been cases of fires, floods, and even a random tree growing in the middle of the lab.

It didn't take long after that before the Alloyed project extended to human testing. They were certain that now that the animals weren't dying, that they would continue that success in their human projects. They started with test tube babies that proved promising, though weak and the babies always died in the third trimester, so they decided to move on to the next stage of testing. Perhaps the embryos were dying because they didn't have a human host. They sent out research proposals and studies asking for volunteers. All the volunteers were screened be women who were in the first trimester of pregnancy since they needed the embryo to be young when they injected it with their concoction. The women were told that the children were being injected with something that would improve their health and fight against certain genetic disorders. Many happily agreed, hoping to improve their children's life. Some of the mothers could not carry the babies to term and had miscarriages. Few mothers also died during their pregnancy, taking their children with them. Unfortunately, none of the children survived the birth if the woman was strong enough to carry to full term and give birth.

Or at least, that's what the doctors of the project told the distraught parents that did survive the ordeal.

In fact, many of the test subject children did die, but not all of them. The first subjects that survived was born in 2020. Many of the first generation died days after birth, or a few years down the line. Not a single one reached maturity, but the project was onto something. It took 2 more years of testing before they finally had a success. The project was under threat of being terminated because of the fetal death but their first real success staved off pending closure. It kick started the project once more with additional government funding. A single child survived to maturity. This female of the new generation had the ability to control water and everyone was excited at the prospect of finally having a living specimen. They termed her a 'Hydro' to shorten 'hydrokinesis'. The scientists quickly began their second generation. Since they were failing so much with regular human mothers, they decided to plant a modified embryo into their living first gen Hydro and waited with bated breath.

It was a success. The Hydro gave birth to another Hydro. Then she had a fire wielder or 'Pyro'. Her third was a 'Geo'. And finally, an Aero. Their first gen however, had grown weak with the multitude of experiments and the birthing of the four children. When her last child was born, she died under the stress. Unfortunately, her fourth child had many complications. The scientists weren't sure why the Aero had so many health problems, but they came to the conclusion it was probably due to the fact that they had experimented on the mother during its pregnancy. What they altered in its mother was altered in turn, in the growing child. They were forced to care for the Aero and use much of their resources to keep the child alive. It being their first gen Aero, they didn't want it to die. The Aero was male so at least they didn't have to stress it with birthing. They did however use all of the children to create further generations for the project and each generation grew stronger. Except the Aeros. The Aeros continued to have a variety of complications and all of them died between the ages of 17-18. All had some sort of health complications and many were either born deaf or blind. The Aeros came to be known as the weak-link of the new race and were generally seen as failures. The scientists would have stopped creating the Aeros but they decided that they could at least learn from their failures and see if they could somehow alter their DNA to make them stronger. And in the end, The Aeros have proven to provide the most genetic variety when breeding, bringing in two new elements they hadn't been coding for: umbrakinetics and photokinetics.

Our role-play begins 5 generations after the first hydro. If your alloy is mature, there is a high possibility that they have been used to breed to create the next generation. The lab itself is one two stories and most of the experiments occur during the day, though the umbrakinesis experiments happen at night. All alloys have a room to themselves though it is generally small. There is one common room for children and one room for adults to engage in activities together though they are heavily monitored. The aeros would not be allowed anywhere near if someone is sick. Contact between aeros is limited since they can get each other sick quickly. Most of the scientists if you want to bring them in, are NPCs. There are three that will be actual characters and those of you who wish to play the scientists, please pm with ideas you have for them so we can work out plot and the like.

What happens next for the alloys can be the same ol' routine of the past or they can start something bigger. Will they fight against their fate or accept it? There are alloys who want to be free from the reign of lab coats and experiments and see the world beyond the white-washed walls. Some may even die or be killed in the process. What legacy will the alloys leave behind or will they all be swept under the rung as if they never existed? Their pain and stories forever locked behind the doors of science? The paths is yours to decide.
