A long time ago, the secrets of the world were stored in a machine but all this data was put in a girl not long ago after the machine modified the girls brain with cybernetic components. Now monsters want to capture the girl. The monster look human and act human most of the time but they can transform or grow weapons out of flesh, bone and metal. In fact they were formerly abducted by the old cyborgs before the war to be changed so that they can be the new guardians of mankind. But the monsters have done more bad than good. Now they are out to find the index. There are three kinds of monsters: Those who want to destroy it, those who want to use it to upgrade themselves and those who want to use it to transform all of humanity. Now a group of humans have to protect the index until she reaches a place that is safe for her.

Japan: After a futuristic war 350 years ago, the world is back to a medieval state. Japan is back to where it was in the 1600s. Samurai, belief in kami and demons, wearing kimonos, wandering or riding horses and warring states. The most modern weapons at the moment are single shot rifles and crossbows.

Monsters: Monsters were formerly humans but were turned into a mix of machine and mutated flesh against their will, remembering almost nothing about themselves. They were supposed to protect but ended up as bandits or as murderers. The samurai have been taking them out recently. The old technology is still known even though Japan is in a medieval state but people only use it to make their bodies better. Otherwise they dont know how to use it for transportation or similar.
