Introduction
Our story began one summer night, under the light of the stars and Senoa's twin moons, Pholos and Nessos. Just like any other night in Alako, the streets were filled with late-shift workers and young people returning home from the night's fun, tired and unaware that their lives were about to change forever. Suddenly, in the sky, a shooting star appeared, whipping through the night as a bright streak of light...but something was wrong. The star was not burning out; it was getting bigger, as if drawing near! Just after passing over the city, the flaming Meteoroid exploded in a bright flash of white light, shattering into small chunks of debris and bathing everything on the ground in the radiance of its explosion. The next day, the news reports were full of speculation and the writings of confused journalists. The military sent in troops to investigate, cordoning off the landing zones of the larger pieces of Meteoric debris. There was panic in the streets, but after a week or so, nothing had happened, so the populace calmed down.
Now, a month later, there is talk of men with super-human abilities, animals never-before seen on Senoa, and even stranger things the people of Locao can barely comprehend. Though much of what is occurring has not yet become public, it will soon, and no one can fathom the chaos that will ensue. Now, as the island of Locao and the city of Alako slowly become a dangerous place to be, heroes must rise to the challenge and save the island, all the while unraveling the mystery of the exploding meteor and the strange events that follow its arrival.
Senoa is a world much like Earth. It is populated by humans and animals, many the same or close to the same as those found on Earth. The different continents, much smaller in comparison to Earth's own, are filled with varying biomes, dependent on proximity to the equator/northern and southern poles. The different races of humans are physically identical to those from Earth, though there are some slight cultural differences. For the purposes of your character, you may assume that the different races are very similar in culture to those of Earth.
This story takes place on the island of Locao, specifically in the city of Alako. Alako is a tightly built urban city on the west coast of the island, which is roughly the size of Connecticut. It is thickly populated by men and women of various ethnicities, all of which scatted through three social classes; rich, middle-class, and poor. There's a surprisingly low level of poverty in a city so large, mostly due to the abundance of well-paying factories on the oceanfront of the city. Most residents live in apartments, as the city is so densely populated. There is a down-town area full of sky-scrapers, a large park located in the northern part of the city, and, of course, a shipping and industrial zone on the coastal side. Many suburbs are located just outside of Alako, and beyond that farm land. The eastern side of the island is very rural, with only a few notable towns until you get to the western coast, where Fort Jordan is. Fort Jordan is mostly populated by relatives of those on the adjacent military base(Which goes by the same name), as well as those who work at the city's munitions factory.
The military forces mostly stay confined to the eastern side of the island, leaving the rest of the island under the watch of the "Peace Corps", which is a volunteer police force armed only with stun batons. Since there is little crime on the island, no real, formal police force has ever been established. There is a paid staff of investigators which also serve as liaisons to the global authorities, who work along side the Peace Corps to file reports and do proper investigation work, but they only number about thirty on the island. After the explosion of the meteor, the military has established a garrison in Alako, though their presence is still relatively weak.
You will be playing the role of a main character in the story, fighting to uncover the reasons for what happened while protecting the innocent civilians of the island.
For the beginning of a story, you may start by posting a write up of your character discovering his or her powers, and you may do this before we begin play, as soon as you are approved. Bear in mind your starting phase.
At this time, I am not specifically looking for antagonist or anti-hero characters, but if you really want to play one, hit me up. We'll talk.
