|Personality|
Elijah is a vegetarian and only slightly annoying about it. Overall, he prefers everyone to get along and is not unwilling to get them all drunk or high to achieve his ends. He believes there is nothing after death, having lost his faith in God and is always seeking to live in the moment. He has an almost desperate need to experience as much as he can. However, he is, by no means, an extremist. His pleasure-seeking is done in moderation. He hopes to someday live in a commune in upstate New York or travel the world. But for the time being, he is content to learn what he can at the university.

Elijah was born in an Orthodox Jewish family in New York City. His father was a jeweler and his mother stayed at home with his brothers and sisters. He was stuck somewhere in the middle, often the peacemaker to his siblings. But he was smart and studious, looking to religious texts as his first entry into philosophy. His father took it as a sign that Elijah was meant to be a rabbi. In Hebrew school he was always the first one to raise his hand. But as he got older, he couldn't simply accept what he was taught. His questions became more complicated and his teachers became more frustrated with him. Hopes for a rabbi for a son were soon dashed for Elijah's father.
It was clear that what Elijah wanted to know, had to come from somewhere else. Where, he didn't know. In high school, he veered away from his family's religious beliefs. He loved them but he didn't understand them. He sought wisdom but in school, what looked like wisdom came from a smoky corner on the grass. With the strumming of a guitar, he fell in with the stoner crowd. He believed they had the right idea. With the loss of his faith and a new found belief in the pleasures in life, he graduated high school and headed far from his family.
