Jayson was sitting at an empty table when all of a sudden she heard someone call her. She looked arround and saw that Colt had been calling her. He told her to come sit with him to talk about the project and she found herself unableto resist the offer. Had it been someone else she wouldn't have given them a second glance. It was Colt who wanted her to sit with him. The same Colt that she met this morning and yet she found herself standing and silently walking to his table. It didn't even have to be the fact that she was working on a project with him.

He treated hervlike a friend and thats what she wanted. "Are you sure you don't mind eating with a freak or is it just because we're project partners?" at the question she immediately regretted asking it. She didn't want him to think of her as a freak. Something about him had her drawn to him and she couldn't pull away but she didn't want to pull away for some reason.

"Are you sure you don't mind eating with a freak, or is it just because we're project partners?" Jayson asked. Colt laughed.

"Only if you don't mind eating with a wackjob," he replied. "It's mostly because you're pretty and you can hold your own." Shit, he thought, did I just say that out loud? To her face? He gave no indication of his faux pas, instead acting like he had done it on purpose. "Did you have any ideas about that project, though? I wasn't really paying attention," he admitted.

Jayson shook her head. "I don't think you're a wackjob." at what he added blood rushed to her cheeks giving a light blush but she shook it off. "Thanks your the first person to say that to me." she hadn't expected for him to say any such thing like that but it was sweet and she was happy he did say it. "Well all we have to do is write a short story. It can be fictional or non-fictional so which do you think we should do?" she finally looked up at him, catching his gaze.

"Thanks, you're the first person to say that to me," Jayson said. Colt was surprised, to say the least. The first? "Well, all we have to do is write a short story," she continued. "It can be fictional or non-fictional, so which do you think we should do?" She looked up at him, catching him in the act of staring at her.

"Fiction," he said softly. "Definitely fiction. Where's the fun in real life? We should...uh...exchange numbers. Ya know, so we can brainstorm the story." Colt waited for the reply, all the while getting lost in Jayson's round blue eyes.

Jayson had soon finished eating and smiled at his choice. "I agree so fiction it is." she looked over at him but didn't actually know he was staring at her. She was a bit surprised by his suggestion. "Uh sure I think we should exchange numbers." a slight part of her felt like there could be more to it and was actually a bit hopeful but shook off the thought.

She ripped a small piece of paper and wrote down her number before looking up and becoming caught in his gaze and she didn't bother lookin away as she slid the paper over to him.

Jayson looked at him. "Uh sure I think we should exchange numbers," she said. Colt smiled at her agreement. Though he knew it was probably wishful thinking, he thought that he saw a bit of hopefulness in the way she looked at him. She wrote her number on a piece of paper, maintaining eye contacted as she slid it to him on the table.

Colt followed suit. "So," he said. "When do you think we should get together?"

Jayson had thought on her answer before answering. "How about today after detention. If not today then tomoroow maybe? Either way works for me." At first she had thought almost hoped he meant something else or that his words had another meaning but as she put away his number in her bag somewhere she'd remember and realized it was just wishful thinking. As the bell rung, signalling the end of lunch she stood. Only two more classes and it'd be time for detention.

"I'll see you in detention." she said almost in a hopeful manner but maintened a friendly manner and left for her next class which was her favorite class, music.
