In the world of Asa, lands are not connected by water or breathable air. They are instead bits and pieces of concentrated soils of differing dimensions orbiting around what is called Kéntro (κέντρο), an intangible center of gravity, surrounded by the void that is space. Each land has its own atmosphere, fauna and flora, but rely solely on the Kéntro as center of gravity.

Occasionally, based on the location of the orbiting lands and their trajectory in relation to one another, pathways known as so̱lí̱n (σωλήν) are created to allow passage between lands. Only then can inhabitants of one land travel to another with the help of technology and magic. These crossings are quite common and usually form on a regular basis so much that astronomers are given the duty of predicting them and publishing forecasts of them on a daily basis.

Technology in Asa is mostly at what could be associated to that of our Renaissance Era with basic Steampunk elements for the more technologically advanced civilization. it isn't uncommon for it to be used in concordance and harmony with magic, which is a normal occurrence in everyday life and accessible to all although some are more skilled in magic than others. However, races indigenous to lands closer to Kéntro have better affinity for magic and, because of that, most of these nations have seen little need to develop their sciences and technology.

The inhabitants of Asa come in all forms and shapes. Pixies, giants, golems...such creatures are so common that few metropolitan would bat an eye should they stumble across one. Of course, that wasn't always the case, but the barbaric age of discrimination and xenophobia has long past even if individuals of more rural regions, regions that receive less visitors, may still stare a bit too long at foreigners. The habitats of Asa is just as diverse as its inhabitants. Lands can be made entirely of lava or sea even, making them quite dangerous to uninformed Leapers, nomadic individuals who leap from one world to another.

Your journey begins as an inhabitant of Epitrochia, one of the lands farthest of Kéntro. On one fine day, you wake up to a slightly different sky and it isn't until you gain access to the bulletin board that you learn the startling news: __________, a land close to Kéntro has disappeared. Astronomers are baffled by this while conspiracy theorists claim that it is a new stealth spell that will spell Epitrochia's doom.

A couple of hours would pass before all contact between lands are completely cut off. While it isn't uncommon to have interference due to the magic nullifying properties of space, this is the first time that even the extremely cutting edge invention known as radio waves could not go through due to some sort of electromagnetic residue.

My track record
I have a total of around 3 years of role-play experience during which I've had plenty of opportunity to GM. I am from Gaiaonline, if that's any indication of where I am from, more specifically from Gaiaonline's Guild-based role-play. I've GMed a supernatural academy RP for close to 5 months, a stat-based high fantasy role-play for around 7, a multitude of Bleach role-plays with the most successful lasting 9 months and my own modern-day supernatural role-play for around 4 months. All of them ranged from semi-lit to literate and have ended with me losing interest in them.

My philosophy
I like a mix of sandbox and storytelling. I've tried role-plays from both extremes and none of them went down too well. Now, I will admit that I'm a lazy fucker and no longer have the energy and optimism i once had to try and weave something interesting for each and every character, but I am willing to change that provided I'm given enough reason. An eye for an eye isn't something that is only applicable in a pejorative way. That being said, autonomy is extremely important to me. Do not expect me to take your character's hand and spoon feed them their next actions. I may drop hints or nudge them along with the environment, but use your brain to think about how your character would react in such situations. If you have decided to make your character completely ignore the nuke I've dropped next to their arse, expect to be booted. True story.

I favor character growth and my favorite way to push that is through hardships. Do not expect everything to be all flowers and roses for your character, at least not for long. I tend to jump out of the blue yelling "SURPRISE, MODAFOOKAH!"and am not beyond trolling. I can have a very dark sense of humor and love irony. I expect commitment, else I won't bother with your character unless it is the get rid of them in such a way that can be used to fuel further role-play.

Now, in terms of equity, I believe that each character should have as much opportunity to grow as their peers. If you suggest a plotline solely centered around your character, it will be rejected almost 100% of the time. If it isn't, expect things to go awry. For your character.

I am currently only accepting [8] characters. There are no gender restrictions because I do not believe that gender balance it that important in a world open to relationships of all sorts and I see nothing wrong with characters acting in a way that isn't usually associated to their gender. Also, romance isn't my main concern. Anyone who has spoken to me knows I'm allergic to romance from forced, repeated exposure. I would much prefer to focus on your character's personality and its potential to yield interesting interactions with other characters. One-dimensional wallflowers may have trouble getting accepted in other words.


New spots may open up depending on how things go. Whenever that happens, a summary of important events will be posted so despair not.
