"Oh, don't be like that, Cole! This is fun!" Abby teased her brother. With Abby, Cole didn't actually have to speak. She understood him through glances, able to read the stoic boy like a book. Cole let out a soft sigh of exasperation at Abby's insistence on getting herself into extremely dangerous situations. It seemed to him like she almost enjoyed it when she was risking her life.
"Cream? Well, I have been needing a moisturizer like crazy! Be right there," Abby yelled back cheerfully. Cole moved to stand in front of Abby as she turned and reached for the roof of the gas station.
Kaylie then scrambled up to the roof and looked at Armour "Ready to leave?"
Abby jumped, reaching desperately for the roof. However, she was a short thing and she fell back down. Abby let out a small hiss of pain but otherwise showed no sign of disappointment. Instead Abby simply jumped again and came back down to earth. With a sigh, Abby turned to Cole. Despite being twins, her brother was much taller.
"Uh, Cole, a tiny boost?" Abby asked with a little guilty grin. Cole back up to the wall and crouched as Abby swung bats at the oncoming zombies. She clambered onto his back, still swinging, and Cole stood. He took over fending off the zombies as she swing herself up onto the roof.
"Okey dokey, your turn! C'mon, we'll keep them off you, Cole," Abby called down to her younger brother. Cole glanced up for a moment before reaching up a hand to clutch the edge of the roof. He used his hammer to slam away the zombies around him, using one hand to pull himself up. A moment later he swung his leg over the roof and pulled himself up next to Abby. Immediately the shorter girl tackled her lanky brother in a tight hug.
She looked at the three others "Got any idea how to escape this place?" She asked, as the hordes came. Undead children, adults, women and children came from roads and alleys. They gathered at the front of the store and reached out their mangled arms, moaning. Kaylie didn't bother to ask the two's name or where they came from. She just dashed to the other side of the roof and got on her knees, bending over. Noticing a free space, she whispered "Hurry, over here! We can jump down and navigate our way out of here". She turned her head sharply at the two hugging, rolling her eyes. She proceeded to scan the area for a path out of the deads sights and a safe way down. Broken legs wouldn't do any good. "Oi, come over here. Can you see a way out, any of you?"
In her mind the plan was to hop about three buildings aand then jump into the middle of the lake where they could, if they can, swim very far. Because it is deep and zombies sink/can't swim they would be safe. Unless undead use boats, that thought was scary.
"Oh! Cole could probably jump it. He's super tall, and he could carry one of us at a time if he has to!" Abby's voice piped up happily, volunteering her brother. Cole turned and gave her a look.
"Don't be like that, Cole. You could do it and you know it," Abby scolded Cole.
Kaylie rose and paced to the other side of the roof to see the endless amount of dead. She shook her head in disbelief as their rotting flesh reached for the survivors. Then Kaylie looked back at the other side "Screw it, I'll jump" she claimed. Kaylie took a deep breath and stood tall, she took a couple of steps back and spoke. She tried to speak deep to cover her nerves "Alright... I will jump, perhaps then I can catch you lot."
Before the others could speak she ran to the edge, and slipped down. She held on to the ledge and dangled her feet. She gulped and counted to 3 in her head. 1...2...3... Jump!
She let go. Kaylie landed on the ground and almost instanty collapsed, holding her right leg tight in pain. She looked up and semi-yelled "I don't think it's broken, just hurting. Alright, ready for a jump? Dangle off first though!"
Kaylie tried to stand, she supported herself against a nearby dumpster, and held out her arms. She winged in pain but was still ready to catch somebody. The dead at the front of the gas station began to get ravenous, they started climbing atop news stands to reach the 3 still on the roof. Kaylie urged for them to jump "C'mon!"

"That was awesome!" Abby whispered cheerily. Cole joined her in looking down at the two girls with a bored expression. Abby sat up and turned to look at her lanky twin. Cole met his shorter sister's gaze and let out a sigh before turning back towards the building.
"No, you go first, Cole! I'll be fine," Abby insisted. Cole sent her another look and Abby just grinned impishly back at him.
"Together then, yeah?" Abby compromised. She slipped her legs over the edge just as Cole did the same. Together the two released and fell to the ground, landing in a crouch position. Abby stood, stunned for a moment, before grinning and bouncing towards the two girls.
"That was fun! We should do it more often," Abby said. Cole moved to stand behind his sister, although it was more like he was standing over her. He kept his cold, expressionless gaze on Kaylie and Amora, analyzing them to see of they were going to pose a threat to his sister.
he decided he would introduce himself, they seem friendly enough. not now of course too much dead. he would have to follow them until safety is available for both the group and dranka himself
She sat in the boat and looked back at the gas station "Where are we to go now?" she asked, still in pain.

An eerie silence started to spread through the horde of undead chasing after the group, an un-natural silence they stopped moaning and groaning their gnawing seemed to stop even the sound of burning cars seemed to stop. Off in the distance far away from the turmoil of the undead a chiming could be heard, a soft sweet tone. With in a short 30 seconds the chiming would gather strength and grow louder with in a minuet all those with ears could hear its heavenly tone. Bouncing off of destroyed buildings at just the right frequency the chiming carried for miles. Never loosing its angelic tone as if rung from the purest of pure silver bells handled by angels. The undead following the group all seemed to stop in place and turn their heads down the street to a dark figure down the way. From far away it would appear to be a lone nun carrying a large black cross on her back. Up close this ideal image that there was still faith would only grow stronger. A rouge gust of with would blow the black hood from the figures face showing the mortal under the immortal image.
Though nuns would always be recognized by their black clothing the one thing that set them apart was their faces. This nun seemed to be Asian in heritage shew has soft sweet eyes that would gaze at the ground before her hiding their color. The woman would appear to be very young 16-18 at least all though her body would beg to differ. The large cross on her back 5’x31/2’x1’ with a six inch spike at the base, would appear to be the source of the heavenly chiming. Every now and then the woman would catch the spike with the heal of her tattered shoes or the spike would hit a large chunk of stone. The woman would slowly look up she looked sad, almost like her heart was breaking for this world, her eyes looked like she was ready to give up. This young apparent nun would formally be known as Odessa tho most would call her the sister do to her apparel. Once her eyes caught sight of the small rag tag group of survivors scurrying towards a boat her sad eyes would turn cold, like the eyes of a murderer.
The small 5’10” woman would lower her right shoulder allowing the cross to rest on the ground, the 6 inch spike at the bottom of the cross would become depressed into the cross. the chiming would stop and sound restored to the city. Odessa would release the old leather strap she clung to to hold up the cross on her travels. Four thick spikes would fold our of the bottom catching the ground to support the heavy cross. Odessa would slide around the cross pulling her rather large bag off the cross before removing the skull cross necklace from her neck pressing it into the metal cross. the leather strap would retract into the cross as the tone of the grave digger would ring out from the device.
Ding, Ding, Ding, Ding Da-Ding Da-Ding Da-Ding. The dead would start toward Odessa as she smirks the cross would start to click and clack like gears turning. The “arms” of the cross would start to telescope out to a grand total of 7 foot connected with a thick steel cable. A simple pistol grip would turn out of the bottom of the mutated cross the 6 inch spike telescoping from the bottom and a reload grip like from an assault riffle would flip out near the front. This only took a short while to do this but the undead had gotten a little to close for Odessa’s liking she scooped up the pistol grip lifting the large crossbow up. Two support bars would fall to the ground to act like a tripod for this heavy device, she reaches out grabbing the reloader and twists it outward as the sound of gears fills the air. The steel cord would slowly begin to pull back locking into place at the back of the cross. she pulls the loader back with all her might as a loud “chunk” sound echoed from the device. She lifts the weapon up and aims pulling the trigger as a large solid bar of reerod steel lurches forward colliding with the undead plowing strait through the horde, all the way through a car and half way through a fire hydrant before it stopped. Having cut a swatch in the undead she was happy but ready to leave.
"It's okay, Cole, it was a stupid thing to ask," Abby admitted with a giggle. Cole still spared a scowl at Amora but relaxed a little. He wouldn't want to hurt one of Abby's 'friends' since they meant so much to her. Still, if any one of them hurt her he would have no hesitation and even Abby wouldn't be able to calm him down. As long as these two kept their hands off his sister, however, Cole found he had very little problem with them. They weren't idiots, which was saying something. Abby watched all this run through her brother's head and smiled. As long as he didn't mind them, she'd stay with the two. In her own way Abby protected Cole too, often leaving her companions if they got on Cole's nerves too often. It was usually why she did leave them, actually, or they left her and Cole.
"Oh, yeah, where are we going??" Abby asked excitedly, turning to the two girls.

Kaylie pondered if anybody knew how to operate this boat, she didn't after all. She placed her backpack on the boat floor and sourced through it. She pulled out 3 energy bars and an empty .44 Magnum. She looked at the rest of the group. "Okay. Does anybody have any ammo? And does anybody fancy a bite to eat?" she asked as she kept considering the positives and negatives of living on the sea. The only positive thing was a lack of zombies. Unless they could swim, which she prayed to god they couldn't. She placed 2 of the 3 energy bars beside her and tore into one. She nibbled at the raisin energy bar and grinned. "At least we won't be in a blood-soaked city apartment."
To kill the time Kaylie began some small talk "So, what do you think happened? The government said millitary would be evacuating us, look what happened. Nothing. What happened to the millitary? The radio broadcasts, the government... What happened to the citizens? They couldn't have all been bit and transformed." But could they have? Kaylie wondered, what if they were the only 4 survivors? What if at the end only they survived, how would they continue the human race? Kaylie kept nibbling at the bar, her face was blank.
Soon she got a bite and Amora yanked the line up, landing a plump, silver fish. "Seafood anyone?" she takes the fish into the bottom of the deck and comes back ten minutes later with cut up fish on a Dixie plate. "Okay, I think we should learn each other's names, I'm Armour." Amora popped a piece of fish into her mouth and handed the plate to Kaylie.
“this is stupid,” she yelled out to herself “what am I doing? Trusting these strangers” she let out a rather adorable squeak when the cross made contact with the wall of the dead. The swatch that she had cut was her only way through, and it was closing quickly. She started to run harder heavy boots coming down on rotted flesh and brittle bones as she climbed over the line of corpses made by her shot. She ran as fast as she could eyes shut plowing through the undead, little did she know her spur of the moment choice was a smart one. Those watching her would see undead reach for her body but quickle knocked away by the crosses arms. Every now and then the cross would hit that sweet spot snapping the arms of the dead in half. She opened her eyes as soon as she broke through the back end of the horde and lost all hop for infront of her was the one thing keeping the group safe. A wooden fence between her and what she was thinking would be safty. She quickly took in the fence and saw a glimmer of hope, a small patch of fence that looked weak. She changed corse angling directly toward the group of survivors and ducked her head charging the fence. The cross made contact with the wall sending a shock wave of pain through her body. The fence gave into the crosses momentum shattering, hearing the wood snap Odessa saw the light of hope. She rand as fast as she could trying her best to hop the shattered wood catching the tip of her boot on a plank.
She fell to the ground with a loud yelp, her body her bag and her cross slid, rolled and tumbled into a heep just ten feet from the group, at the end of the dock. She was out cold she had struck her head and went out like a light. Her life, her proud life of helping those struggling to survive in this hell hole of a world was in the hands of complete strangers………..was this the right choice to make on her part. Live or die, was no longer in her hands…..turn the page.
She thought for a moment. Should she tell these people? Yes... They couldn't betray their trust. They were a band of survivors "Kaylie Rose," she said, letting her guard down. She transformed from a once tense posture to a more relaxed one. The switch was evident - she trusted these people. Even if she only knew them a day, the fact remained she knew them. She looked at the short girl and boy "He's Cole I figured, so what's your name?" she asked, though an answer wasn't really needed. Kaylie wasn't bothered either way, a name is a name. It won't make a difference in this world.
As she continued to eat she looked around the boat. Buttons, leather seats, a generally luxurious feel. "I'm sure this is the start of a wonderful new life, y'know, I always wanted to live on a boat..."
