The Universe was once a wonderful place to exist. When humans were bound to a single planet, and the trillions of other species all had their ability to laugh in their face without ever a reaction, the universe had little fear. Then, one day, in the year 3174, a ship struck an asteroid and crashed into the city of Old New York, formerly known simply as New York. No species knows which faction was responsible for the humans extremely fast under-taking of space traveling and sustaining technology, but at this point, it matters little. The universe has finally felt the destructive touch of humankind. Oh joy.

Now: The Senate, and Imperial and corrupt government that simply runs every part of the human empire, which stretches over 524 planets both seized and bartered for, is the human's only faction to have control in all sectors of the empire. However, there are also branches -- The Julios family, obvious favorite of the Senate and jealous icon of the other two families, is based upon political power and fancy parties. A leader or governor amongst this family has never seen poverty in their lives. This, some say, leads them to be a little poor in combat, but quite strong in tongue and pen. The Brutios family, built upon honor and power, seeks nothing more but to rule with an iron fist. Sure, their people are treated with courtesy and are given fair opportunity, but what rage they save their people from, they shift to their enemies. Known to thoughtlessly charge into battle without sufficient supplies or reinforcements, many Brutios battles were won simply for the face that their generals are top notch and, some say, unbeatable. For what they shine in battle, they lack poorly in political influence. And finally, the Scipios family, a strange pack in itself. The Scipios rely on limited political strategy, and few fights, but often can use technology to their aid. With a tech know-how like no other, their members have hacked and used information from either of the two families, and even in the Senate, to get their way. Using hackers to destroy their enemies vehicle-main frames and credit deposits, most enemies lay under siege by a few men in a room full of hardware and coffee stains. Unfortunately, when it comes to ground combat, they must rely on their high number of population. But when it comes to aerial and space combat, no other family can master them so easily.

In the empire, many hundreds of rebellion groups have raised over the years, but the ones hard to deal with are Hannibal's Carthaginians, and Alexander's Macedonians. These two groups are lead quite differently: The Carthaginians home world, Phoenicius, was enslaved and taken over by multiple raider groups. When the group had nowhere to call home, they invaded a planet known as Carthage, and took their new name in it's honor. They fight with honor and spirit, but more importantly, with brains. They use guerrilla warfare to weaken and destroy enemies. The Macedonians, however, were once a great and powerful nation amongst the empire's order. Now, they seek only the death and destruction of the Senate, through defensive warfare in easily defensible positions.

In this empire, resources are fairly limited. Guns are used for elite soldiers only, and usually only for a general's guard during combat. Most soldiers have revisited melee weaponry, and have reintroduced full body armor. Hand to hand combat is not uncommon, however proves to be useless in killing an opponent during an actual battle. Soldier's armor is three inches thick, and makes punches or kicks, even with the built in muscle enhancement drives of the armor, simply nonviable. However, the weapons may take a few hits to break armor, but once penetrated, they chop through skin like a knife through butter, and organs are no exception. Vehicles have limited use on ground to ground battle sequences, for most of the fuel storage has gone to the space-craft and aerial combat vehicles. Solar technology has allowed for many ships to acquire laser-like attacks, that can heat the hull of a ship to over 9,980 Degrees, Celcius -- Just enough to melt down a ships hull completely. Each army is lead by one general, and all of the generals preside under their family's leaders and governors. The heads of each family answer only to the Senate, and ultimately, the Senate Master.

Planets will be created and hazards, resources, cities, etc. will be established for each before any interaction or combat begins.

It is possible for any of the families to over throw the Senate. It is also possible for alliances to be forged. It is also possible for families and rebels to merge. Be creative.
