This certainly looks interesting. Around how long would you like most posts to be, and do you already have thoughts about where this'll go, or will it be made up as things go along?

Also, I think you mean NPC, not CPU.

EDIT: Oh, and are character pictures required?

I'm just wondering about something. Do the players know they're players when playing the game or do they believe they are their character?

To Sevis: I have a general idea, but I don't want to have a plot planned out, because I want to allow you guys to shape it. Thanks for the tip, I will change it right away. Also, pics are not required.

To ohsnapitsyourface: It's random, because everybody is in different parts of Nemar, so they can't really interact until they meet in a certain place. It starts whenever. I'm still fine tuning, so I'm going to finish first before I start posting, but you guys go ahead.

To almostinsane: They know they are players, but at the same time, the game is really realistic, so they can get caught caught up in being their character too. Also, when they are in the game, they don't consciously think about the life outside the game except for knowing they have to win, because their real lives really have no importance in what they are doing.

To all: Feel free to make some self-aware NPCs, because the more you have them in their, the better the plot will end up being.

I see people making players with a back-story -- are the players then replacing already existing people, or are they (like in most games) thrown into the fray without any contacts/relations?

They replace already existing people, but they can be thrown in as well. I tried to explain, but I don't think I did a very good job. Nemar is a new, original type of game. The gameplay is very real, and you get lost in it. In fact, it wouldn't be strange if some players forgot they were players sometimes.
