[OOC] Terces' Critters!

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Symphony on Sun Apr 03, 2011 12:11 pm

Everyone likes a few native creatures to interact with on a new planet. :D You can apply a critter here to be looked over, and maybe even approved! Below, will be the critters who have already been approved, and that you will see throughout your time in the roleplay.

Tnevres:
These creatures have the body build of a cat, while retaining the size of a horse. While they appear to be of the feline, they actually have the ability to howl and also run in 'Packs' rather than been solitary creatures. They have small clumps of fur that form together into razor sharp points to make up their fur, almost like scales. These 'Rezlin' can actually lift up to form a 'porcupine' effect against things that might hunt it, even though they are in fact carnivorous. Their base color is usually black, with the rezlin tips can be just about any color, as long as it is a darker shade.

Ra'Joo:
Ash colored monkey-like creatures each with two extra sets of arms and an abnormally elongated tail. These monkey's don't blend in with their surroundings very well, but then again they don't have to. Each Ra'Joo is equipped with sharp fangs and long claws that enable them to dig into the bark of trees and stay rooted into place. They are also extremely agile and as most monkeys can, they are able to swing through the trees with ease. The Ra'Joo inhabit the Jungle areas.

Sprout:
A flower person made up of vegetables, plants and the like and animated by natural deposits of magic in the land.Found in as varied appearance as birds and many other creatures, these can be found lounging near the calm pool or the volcanic ash-lands, wherever there is life there are Sprouts. These are smiled upon as signs of life and the power of creation in the land, as they aid and help other plants grow, sprout, and flower. Sprouts are not necessarily any good besides being known for life, their roots are poisonous so as to spitefully kill all who try to devour them. This poison is not in fact widely known for although they are able to imitate wildlife, even if they are not they are able to blend in quite nicely with their surroundings if in a large forest. The poison is fast acting and does not give much time for parting words.

Pyvon:
Small springy legs designed for speed, two pairs of hands for balance, grabbing high up things, and scampering higher into the foliage away from predators. As with many of the animals, these creatures sprout an unnaturally long bushy tail, which is flecked in many colors on male Pyvons as a tool for attracting mates. Many inhabitants of Terces find these creatures to be nothing more than a small pest on their crops, barely more than fifteen pounds in the large adults and not much higher than your own knee. Most Pyvon sport a sickly looking brown chestnut color along their hides, however this is mostly from their time spent in the dirt. At birth, Pyvon's have stark white fur, and it changes to the enviroment as they grow older, leaving the younger ones a bigger target with their less effective camoflague and smaller stature. Pyvons populate all over the island, anywhere there is food, or water there are Pyvons.

The Noitcurtsed Beast:
Legend has it that this beast was one of the dozen that came out of the birthing of the land, alongside the Terradon and the Terrible Moolg. The Noitcurtsed Beast though, is a terror of sailors, beachgoers, and anything that dares go near it's hunting grounds.
Only the gods could fathom it's appearance outside of the flurry of treetrunk sized tentacles, each capable of buckling ships with a flex of the sinewed appendage. along with the amazing strength, speed, and deadly precision comes an even more worrysome tool: Razorblades. They line every inch of the creature in sharp, pointed blades that look like something only an experienced torturer could have thought up.With a swipe, the Noitcurtsed Beast turns trees into mulch, cows into hamburger, and humans into a finely cubed stew meat.

The Terrible Morsa:
A horrible creature from the days of the Terradon and the Noitcurtsed, the Morsa is a horrible, formless abomination oozing despair and destruction.
The Morsa is made up of primordial stuff of destruction amassed into a glob of terror, haunting the edges of Terces. This blob has no shape but is obviously able to squeeze through tight spaces even though it has a massive amount of, well, mass. The Morsa will eat almost anything, but seldom wakes from hibernation unless something drastic has changed in the weather, or the land. Where it has been, there is destruction. Neither wood nor flesh is safe from the Morsa's ravenous appetite.

Benshira:
Take a step down a rung and think of what would live alongside a Pyvon. Something with armor. Benshiras are exactly that. Though they live along side the Benshira in peace, they are slightly more prepared for predators. All snarks have a very odd coloring on their tongues, ranging from blue to white. The only thing that is ABLE to distinguish one Benshira from the rest is the tongue, for each one is slightly different than another, be it subtle or obvious. The Benshira need not worry for outrunning prey for their hardened shells protect them from most predators. They have no poison and they only have teeth on the bottom of their mouths, reserving the top one for a dental pad to nip off buds, grass, and other herbivore eating material. But all things are able to be destroyed, if a Benshira is turned over, it is as good as dead, for Benshira's underbellies become soft in the sun or if is exposed too much. This will either burn the Benshira, or something will come along and devour it's soft and tender flesh. The shells are also used for bowls and are sometimes carved to make other items once the animal is gone.

Fi' Odon:
The Fi' Odon is a vary large animal of Terces, being a flightless bird nearly fourteen feet tall and weighing on an average of four hundred pounds. Though they cannot fly, they are powerful birds and are capable of very fast getaways, at a striking fifteen to thirty miles an hour. Armed with a strong beak and jaws, these birds are capable of crushing bone and meat in a single bite, stripping all nutrients from their meals. The Fi' Odon live alone and only mate once a year, thus the Fi' Odon don't populate too much of Terces. The babies of the Fi' Odon are not something to look at, an overlarge beak, bulging eyes, and downy feathers are the general makeup of the bird. The claws, beaks, and bones of Fi' Odon are widely honored among the people of terces. Only a truly formidable hunter can bring down a bird alone.

Eclonii:
A fuzzy little creature that runs along in the savanna weather. Is about the size of a small house-mouse with a cute furry face and sparkling button eyes. But beware.. For this little creature could scrape an eye out with it's sharp barbed tail. Though small and light, it can pack a pretty good swipe.

Serline:
These creatures are deer-like in nature, being herbivores and having four limbs, with hooves, and a small tail. They have pointed ears, along side (for the males) very large antlers. With two sets of antlers, they make for several dozen sharp pointed tips that can be deadly if they need to be used in such a way. These creatures are black in fur color, with grey undertones, and their antlers seem to shine in the light. Even though they are black in nature, they have millions of little 'moon-shine' on them that resemble stars. These come from the Celestial Forest, from rubbing their antlers up against the trees there. They live there only during breeding season, which happens once a year, in the spring. These beasts can reach up to four feet at the shoulder, with their antlers curving up even higher. Unlike real deer, they do not loose their antlers, for the antlers are part of them, and grow with age. However, the female Serline have no antlers, they have intricate patterns; in the same blue and white color of the moonshine, on their pelts to attract the males.

Echa:
This mole-like creature loooves digging around in the soft earth of Terces, the tunnels of these creatures stretch endlessly through out this wonderfully beautiful land. The tunnels they dig are not big enough to house the others in this world therefore are a safe route to practically anywhere. These little tykes are hoarders, meaning anything shiny, or valuable is theirs as they see it. Many caverns are situated in their tunnels that hold junk, or treasure depending on the way you look at it. The animal itself does not actually look like a mole but has a slightly humanoid twist to it's features. short stubby arms with big hands that each have a couple extra fingers on them. Other than that, just your average mole. The things that these Echa eat, bugs and creepycrawlies! But they will feast on almost anything they can, I'm saying plants, and even the remains of the deceased. They mate for life all year around meaning that Terces is nearly OVER populated with these freaky little dudes that have man hands. Watch your wallet! Cause it might be gone the next second. Although they are expert pickpocketers, they cannot see, they are blind as, er, bats. I mean we don't even know how these little mites tell up from down or left from right. Blind as bats I tell you.

Festre:
Oozing, slithering destruction. The Festre are a breed born by the horrid dreams of the natives. This creature, which in reality is small, slithers into the ears of sleeping beings. The Festre, unlike other creatures, feeds itself upon chemicals. Such as thee ones found in adrenaline. Festre cause nightmares, delving deeper into the subconscious to find the thing that the host fears most. It is this 'thing' that the Festre use to pump their host to near death, then when they have fed, they end the life of their host by killing them in their dreams. The heart explodes, the Festre are every mortals wish to die in their sleep.

Cthoo:
A lovely, multi-hued bird native to the treetops of Terces. Known for its cheerful song and beautiful feathers. The birds range in color from vibrant hot pinks that light up the sky to amazing deep blues.A stubby grey beak speaks volumes of its diet of seeds and nuts. (If you have any ideas to add to this one, let us know!)
