The Island

Day Of The Dead

On a small island, there is a small town called Farmhill, the people there are nice. The surrounding area is farmland and forest, edged with a beautiful beach. The weather is often cold and windy, but every so often it is blessed with sweltering summers.

The island is almost what one would call paradise. Almost. Yes, there is nothing to complain about on the Island, or in Farmhill if you don't mind the strange things that come with it. Many people stay away from the Island because of the stories that surround it.

Most of them are true.

The Island is a beacon for 'demons', and monsters of strange kinds, but we will look at the story of one particular day... The day of the dead.

In Farmhill, the dead lay buried beneath the streets, in the fields, under trees and in the hills. Not because people put them there, no. You see, on June 17th, of every year, at exactly 7:04pm, everyone locks their doors and stays inside. On that day, the dead crawl out of the earth and eerily stalk the streets. They are rarely a bother, they do not open doors for they simply lack the intelligence. They simply wander, until day break of the next morning, where they dig themselves a little grave and go back to sleep for one more year.

If a person or animal is unlucky enough to be left out on that day.

You will not see them until the next year.

They will be dead.

Name: Amielle Cameron a.k.a. Amy

Age: 18

Description: Short, thin, but full of energy. Although the girl looks like she hasn't been sleeping, she's able to keep an energetic conversation going. Long blond hair, and dark blue eyes, all that atop pale flesh. Round, young face, and rosy lips. Her brows are groomed with a sharp arch, which gives her a slightly judging expression. But she's far from judgmental and unkind, which gives her the air of friendliness, even with strangers. She often blushes when the conversation is risque. The girl wears zip up hoodies with the hood draped over her head, with boot-cut jeans and some flats with colorful socks. When the weather is warmer, she's seen wearing cotton short shorts and a tank top. Amy is not overly stylish, and her colors never seem to match.

Short Bio: Amy was born to Jasmine and Peter, their first child, and a handful at that. Their second child was two years later, Tom. Although Amy's parents were not born on the island, Tom and she was. The island provided them with the surroundings the family needed. For a happy family, even if strange things were common on the island.
Amy's childhood was typical, she was the quiet girl in school but she had many friends, older and younger likewise. She took dance classes and read books. She fought with Tom until there was bloodshed, a nosebleed or two. And she's had a few boyfriends after she turned 15. Every year thought the Day of the Dead seemed like a tradition, no matter how hauntingly dangerous it was. It wasn't until she had lost three important people to that day, and found out just how significant and dangerous it can be.
Just five years before Amy turned 18, her grandparents and her little brother died, on the Day of the Dead. How they died and where they disappeared to, no one knows for sure, just the fact that on that day, there was no mercy. And for five years no one has died yet during that day. Since those three deaths, everyone, including little Amy and her parents were extra safe.

Occupation: Waitress at a local cafe owned by Graham

Biggest Flaw/Weakness: Too emotional

Strongest Feature: Her eyes, they sometimes seem like they look through the person's soul

Reason For Coming To Island: Parents came to the island, and stayed because their family was finally getting back on their feet and haven't been happier, no matter the events of the island.

Description:

Graham is tall, skinny and a little pale. He has short brown hair which is gelled into a spike at the fringe. He has dark blue eyes that seem sad and tired, over a face that is lined with stubble.
Graham often wears a white shirt with a red tie under a black suit jacket or a simple hooded sweater. His trousers or often either jeans or black suit trousers over trainers or shiney, black leather shoes, neatly tied and made from Italian leather.
All over Graham's back is a large amount of scar tissue, possibly a burn injury, that has been there for as long as he can remember. Oddly enough, the scar is in the shape of a clawed hand, as if something with such a burning paw had once touched his back, though he figures that shape is simply coincidence. He is quite self-conscious due to his scar on his back, and the small scar on his neck, which is a tiny cut.

Short Bio:
Graham has lived on the Island all his life, and knows everyone. He is a friend with anyone he meets and an enemy with none. When his parents passed away they left him a small fortune and he opened up a small car dealing business. Everyone on the Island that owns a car, likely has bought it from Graham. After a few years selling and trading cars, Graham also opened up a small Cafe which serves as his main source of income as his car dealership burned down only a few weeks after his 30th birthday. He lives on the outskirts of the town, just in sight of a few cottages dotting the hills.

Occupation:
Makes his money with the Cafe that he owns, though he will usually work as a waiter there to help out on busier days.

Biggest Flaw/Weakness:
Severely insecure about the scars on his back, and for this reason has never had a spouse for fear of getting to that stage and having to take his shirt off.

Strongest Feature:
Graham's strongest feature is his sometimes overwhelming friendliness.

Name: Aaylin Rose Katers

Age: 22

Description: Aaylin is fairly small; weighing 111 pounds and standing at 5'4. She has straight blonde hair that falls a few inches below her shoulders, but it's usually kept in a ponytail or held back by clips. Her eyes are a blue color, which seem to remind most people of the calm ocean during an ideal summer. Aaylin's skin is naturally tan from working as a lifeguard, but during the winter months it pales. She is normally just wearing a pair of shorts or jeans, with a tank top or t-shirt.

Short Bio: Aaylin was born as the oldest of four children. Both of her parents worked in a bookstore that they owned, so for most of Aaylin's life, she spent her free time looking after her younger siblings. Her parent's store did pretty well, and by the time that Aaylin graduated highschool, she was happy enough to know that her parent's weren't looking to pass on the bookstore to her yet, because she didn't want to run it. Aaylin wanted to become a teacher, and after a few years, she finally landed a job at a pre-school. During the summer to make extra money, Aaylin works as a lifeguard.

Occupation: Aaylin works as a lifeguard during the nice summers, and throughout the rest of the year she is a pre-school teacher.

Biggest Flaw/Weakness: Easily paranoid - Aaylin can get herself and other killed when she's complaining about noises and people that she claim to see. She easily panics in hard situations.

Strongest Feature: Aaylin is very fast and athletic, although she rarely uses the ability, and she also can be very motherly. People seem to feel comfortable in tough situations when they're around a calm version of Aaylin.

Name: Jeremiah Peterson (Jeremy)

Age: 22.

Description: Jeremiah stands about six foot three and weighs in around 180 pounds. He isn't in the greatest shape because of numerous college frat house beer pong tournaments, but isn't completely out of shape because of his daily gym visits. His skin is rather pale. He has long untidy brown hair and hazel eyes. He has a scruffy, yet trimmed beard and a mustache. Both his arms display a collection of colorful, yet random tattoos. Jeremiah is very upbeat and optimistic and enjoys being witty and sarcastic. He has a unique talent of treating people he just met like they've known each other for quite some time and making them feel more comfortable around him. Jeremiah doesn't exactly have a serious side, or at least not one that people really notice because it's hidden by the jokes.

Short Bio: Raised in a big city, Jeremiah gradually got into the night life and parties. When he went to college, nothing changed. After graduating, he looked back on his life and felt that he had wasted most of his time just by partying. So one day, Jeremiah decided to travel the world and see the sights that nobody else had seen.

Occupation: Unemployed.

Biggest Flaw/Weakness: Usually doesn't think before acting.

Strongest Feature: Optimistic about anything and everything. Nothing gets him down.

Reason For Coming To Island: Jeremiah had heard rumors about a so-called cursed island, so during his travels, he had to check it out for himself. He intentionally planned to be on the island for the day of the dead.

Description:

Lilly is tall, slim and pale. She has long black hair which is always down. She has honey colored eyes. Mostly she wears sweaters, black short heel boots, and black jeans. Also she wears the pet shop ring that’s a pink heart and has a hamster in the heart. She has a birth mark on both her palms in the middle that goes diagonal and that looks like three claw marks.

Short Bio:

Lilly has lived on the Island all his life, she only knows some people on the island. Mostly she's at the pet shop studying and working. She lives on a farm that has a big barn next to the house. She is planning on changing the barn into the new family pet shop. Behind her house a few yards down are the woods. The collage she goes to is a four blocks away from her house and the pet shop is a block away from the collage. After her classes she goes to the pet shop and works/studies there as long as she can and sometimes time flies by when she's working and studying at the pet shop. The name of the pet shop is "Tiger Cave"

She works at a small pet shop it's a family company and she'd soon own it one day and takes some collage classes for she could become a vet but still own the pet shop too. She’s planning on doing both at the same time and moving the pet shop to her house.

Biggest Flaw/Weakness: She gets scared easily and is day dreaming most of the time.

Strongest Feature: Lilly strongest feature is she can be brave when things get bad.

Description:
She stands at 5'7", without heels. Her shocking bright blue eyes seems to hold a certain gentle warmth to them, no matter how sarcastic or confident she try's to seem. Though those pools just seem to reveal the real, sweet, kind hearted, if not slightly timid, damaged woman she is. Her dark locks reach just below her shoulder blades, framing her slightly pale tone, well. Her build is athletic but it would be a mistake to call her strong, in many ways she is still as frail as that ten year old little girl, but she knows how to protect herself if she see's it needed. In colder weather she can communally be seen wearing an off the shoulder sweater, that sleeves cover a little less then half of her hands, along with form fitting dark jeans and thick heel, leather boots and her gold choker with her cross charm hanging from it. Though during the warm weather she can be seen wearing a little pass mid thigh skirts, a midriff blouse with a short sleeves jacket over it, along with a pair of sandels, but she always wears her cross on a chain with that. Though she never seems too bothered by the fact that it shows the strange, almost tribele looking, scars that her father had carved on her lower back, the pink scared flesh taking delicate and sharp curves and strokes from the diamond like shape in the center.

Short Bio:
Alexis child hood isn't a very...kind one. As long as she could remember she had never done anything good enough for her mom and dad, and they had always seem to love to point out how worthless and pathetic she was. The only one who had ever seemed to have cared for her was, her elder brother Jack, even though he never spoke, he treated the young girl with twice as much love and kindness then their parents ever did. Though at the young age of ten, all that ended. Her father, in a 'psychotic rage' killed Her mother, her brother, and even tried to kill her, then finally turned the butcher knife on himself. It was a miracle that she survived, not to mention that her wounds never got infected. So she grew up being bounced from foster home to foster home, but once she was old enough she lived on her own. She even attended collage, for a little bit she studied to become a nurse, but she soon found her love for music and teaching. So after three weeks of arriving on Farmhill, she now working as a music teacher at the local school, all the while looking into her parents past and of this thing called "Day of the Dead."

Occupation:
Currently the Music teacher at the high school, but seriously considering taking the position at the elementary school if she decides to stick around.

Biggest Flaw/Weakness:
Her trouble of fully trusting others and probably her compulsion to help others without thinking.

Strongest Feature:
Her warm yet heart reveling eyes. They seem to revel her deepest lies and draw one in.

Reason For Coming To Island:
Alexis parents had grew up and meet here. Even her elder brother was born here, but she has came here thanks to the diary, and journal, that her parents had left behind. She might have hated them but her nature made her believe something made them the cruel people they were, that is why she even bothered to pick those books up in the first place. They had kept daily entries since they were around nine years old, from what she had read they used to be kind and lovable people, but one day, on June 17, 1983, twenty-six years ago, they stopped making entry's and from what she has gotten so far, the exact day after, they moved off the island.
