Amaya Sonng

"If we can't change it, why does it matter?"

0 · 612 views · located in Curio City, The Abyss

a character in “Abyss”, as played by ColorMeCrimson

Description

Amaya Sonng

Sexual Preference: Bisexual
Appearance: Image
Amaya is a half chinese, half american mix resulting in brown hair, green eyes, and a very fair complexion. Her body is small and slim, but relatively strong for what it is.
Weapon Class: Throwing needles/shiruken
Personality: Amaya is calm and even tempered. Because of her chinese mother, both of them are Buddhist, she has grown up with an emphasis on meditation and not losing her temper. This has given her not only a strong sense of balance, but a quiet and tempered nature. She is soft spoken, but her words when spoken have meaning. She does not sugar coat her words or ramble without purpose, everything is how she sees it. Her mind is very black and white, seeing things the way she perceives what it is and when asked, will tell you exactly. Very calculating and mathematical, Amaya still retains a sense of wonder to the world around her. Often starring at one fixed thing for extended periods of time just to better figure it out. In terms of people, she accepts them almost immediately. Having her own reason and confidence that if anything becomes a danger that she would sense it, she keeps herself open to other people. Typically she actively seeks the attention of a singular individual and then feels sufficient with their company alone, but does not turn others away. Lately, that role has been filled by her creature, although they aren't particularly close.
Memories:
Meditating beneath a tree.
Smell of udon noodles.
A red car door slamming.
The sound of her name in a female voice.

CHO
Image
Above is her normal appearance seen by the human world, the one she is most frequent in.
Image
When hidden, she attaches herself to Amaya via a full arm tattoo as shown above. (I know in the picture its a leg, but its the same design!)
Personality: Cho is wild with a wilder temper. In essence, the complete opposite of Amaya. They aren't very close, but Amaya is patient enough with Cho to warrant not hating her. Cho is a temptress among mortals and demons alike, flirting shamelessly with men to bring them to sin. She also complains quite a bit and is constantly seeking attention and excitement.

So begins...

Amaya & Cho

"Are you going to sit like that all day? You're so dreadfully boring when you get like this." Cho whined, pacing around Amaya like a vulture waiting for the perfect time to snatch her attention.
Amaya, like every day at this time, was taking a moment to meditate and breath. She liked the times when it felt as if there were no time. Or at least, when there was no Cho. Sitting on the floor, she sat back on her ankles, knees folded, and with the straightest posture. Her hands rested in her lap, and her face was solid and empty. She sat in the front hall, near the entrance doors, so she could double this time as people watching even if she spent the majority of the time with her eyes closed. It was interesting to see the sort of people (and creatures, for that matter) came passing by. It seemed as though her and Cho were the only ones who had yet to form any sort of close bond. Amaya was indifferent, Cho thought Amaya insufferable. None the less, Cho could never wander far from her. Maybe that was the part that made this life so insufferable to her. Never the less, it is what it is.
Cho, disgruntled and impatient that she had yet to get any sort of reaction out of Amaya what so ever, snorted in annoyance.
"You know, it's rude to ignore people when they are talking to you!" Cho continued, itching to get something out of her.
Hoping a response would give her a few moments uninterrupted, Amaya peaked an eye open. "It is also rude to interrupt some when they clearly do not wish to talk." Amaya finally spoke, her tone neither joking nor purposefully mean. It was, and she was, indifferent.
"You have some nerve, you know! I don't know how I put up with such disrespect! That's it, I'm leaving."
"You won't get far, Cho. You never do."
This angered Cho further, she scoffed at it. Stuttering at the unfortunate truth of what Amaya had said, Cho continued her tirade. Stomping up the stairs, she fumed and grumbled to herself, passing a flying Bae. Reaching the top of the stairs, she continued down the hall, continuing to grumble, only letting her anger fester. Seeing Red peaking out of the a wall and Bae, the one who had passed her on the stairs, she addressed them.
"If you're looking for someone to talk to, it better not be that princess down the stairs. Oh no, she'll bite your head off for trying!!"
She was exaggerating, of course, but in her mind that is how the incident went down. Although she had no reason to talk to them, she felt like being spiteful. It was also a bit of a habit of hers to wander off and talk to the other people without Amaya. After all, they didn't get along. She was always a bit of a drama queen, Cho was. But being even down this hallway made her feel as if she had strayed too far from Amaya and she was rethinking going back. But first, she was going to make up some excuse for absolutely having to. Not that Amaya would believe it.
Amaya continued to sit where she was, unaware of Cho's actions and not really caring either way. Really, she was just happy for the quiet. Cho's constant whining wore even the most patient of people's nerves down. Now she just had to wait for her to come back, as she always did.

Red watched silently as another girl arrived from her position behind the wall. When the girls creature came near her, she smiled at and mouthed the word "hi" before is walked away. "Wow, stalker-ish much Red." Red jumped and turned around and almost punched Daemon. He grabbed her fist instead, "Control yourself girly, and let your guard down, you too on edge." He said, still not letting go of her fist. "Your the one who scared me, and i've told you before that i'm always shy at first when i meet new people, i'm not about to just run out there and make a fool of myself. Last thing i want is to come of as some nervous freak." she said, peeking back out around the wall. "Whatever, you already are weird.....Amanda." Red cringed, "Don't... Call me that."
"And why not?"
"Because you know i hate being called by my first name."
"But why?"
"I just hate being called that okay."
In truth, Red had no idea why she hated being called by her first name, she just did. She woke up in the abyss hating that name and always has since. Daemon rolled his eye and transformed into a skin tight gold band that wrapped around her neck, his secondary form. "Well, if your going to stay out and watch people arrive, i might as well do the same." he whispered, making Red giggle a little at the vibrations he caused when he talked that tickled her neck.

Red's head shot up as she was yelled at by the winged girl that had spotted her, "I-i'm fine." Red stuttered and backed away a little bit. "Smooooooooth Red, you really made them respect you now."
"Shut up Daemon, and stop talking, it tickles." she mumbled as she watched the girl turn around and walk back in the direction she came from.

Amaya and Cho

Cho, finding little to no amusement in a girl sputtering not even five words to her and talking to necklaces, made her way back down the stairs. She found Amaya right as she had left her. Cho sighed, her irritation now curbed with boredom. Her moods were so flighty, it was hard to tell what she was really feeling, that is, if demons really did feel things. Amaya didn't even open her eyes to let out a quiet, "Welcome back."
Cho rolled her eyes and plopped down beside her on the floor. "Nothing better to do," she said, passing it off and letting out a long groan afterwords, signifying her complaints. She perked up, however, when the doors began to open. This was the second time today a new person had come through, and Cho was always interested in the new people. Especially the males. Using her wings to lift her back up to her feet in a split second, she starred intently at the door. Amaya was vaguely interested, but compared to Cho, there was barely any. She did, however, open her eyes and wait for the next one to inevitably rush up the stairs without taking notice of her, or to be greeted to death by Cho. This was the norm around here.
And right on queue, Cho flew at Gwyn as soon as he reached the inside of the mansion. He had a sort of...was it a wolf? Either way, it was most certainly his creature. Amaya wondered how his creature would react to Cho being so up close and personal without much introduction.
"Hi there," Cho said slowly, starring intently at the new male. "Looks like someone needs a tour guide, huh? My names Cho." She laughed smugly, her intent more than obvious. Amaya scowled, not sure how to interrupt the situation properly. Or even if she had to. I mean, she was her creature after all. Was it really her responsibility?
"Cho, please stop. You're going to scare him more than anything." Amaya said bluntly, a little embarrassed that she had to clean up what ever Cho decided to or not to do.

Gwyn stepped back, surprised by the... enthusiastic... greeting. The wolf flicked her tail and bared her teeth slightly in amusement, but when Gwyn glanced sideways at her, she innocently looked away. Arian... he sighed mentally. He was certain that she would've started whistling if she could. Looking back at Cho, he smiled and ducked his head slightly. "Thank you for the offer," he chuckled. "I believe I am more than capable of going around without a tour guide." He turned his head to Amaya. "Don't worry. I'm not scared."

Arian suddenly sighed and flicked her tail impatiently. "Go get your room first, boy and then flirt. I want to look around." She grabbed Gwyn's arm with her teeth gently and tugged him away. He stumbled slightly from the unexpected pull and his free hand automatically reached up to stop his hood from falling down.

Gwyn sighed and waved at Ayama and Cho. "Um, I'll be right back..."

Arian dragged him several more steps before she paused and let him go to sniff around a narrow staircase leading down. "I wonder if we can find anything down here."

"Can't I just get one of the rooms around here?" Gwyn waved, taking in the surrounding hallway.

"Well, you might find something better down here," Arian shrugged. "Now come on. Don't say you aren't as interested as I am in exploring where this leads." She led the way down to what seemed at first was an empty hallway. With doors. Gwyn followed the wolf in her trot around to inspect the area with a critical eye.

Edit to respond to lokisma: Gwyn turned as a brush of wind signaled the arrival of something from above. He tapped the pommel of a sheathed sword with a finger. "My name? I am Gwyn."

Amaya and Cho

Cho, dismayed at the apparent rejection of the newcomer quickly recovered with the sound of a familiar voice. She looked over, noticing the fellow demon she had known so well. "Infernus! Ive missed you, darling. Its been a while." she walked over to Sly, running circles with her fingers in the mist surrounding him that was the embodiment of Infernus. Cho could recognize him, but Amaya frankly dismissed it as a 'demon thing' and tried to not think to hard about it. Only when addressed herself, did she truly draw attention to the owner of the talking mist.

"Do I...know you?" he had asked her.

Amaya starred at him, caught off guard and tilted her head slightly, causing her brown hair to fall back down upon her face. She blinked a few times, trying to soak in the essence, composing any familiarity she might have of him, and then quickly regained her composure. Brushing the hair back behind her ears, Amaya looked around nervously, not quite understanding the question. Obviously, Cho knew him, or at least knew his creature. Was this a baited question? Some implied meaning? As in 'Who are you that our creatures are so entangled?' or some variation of that. She didn't know. She was thinking too much about it, probably. In a way, he looked familiar, but she was sure they had not spoken in a time she could recollect. It was probably just the demon interaction that sparked it. Nothing more.
"No." she answered, deciding on the safest answer, eying Cho as she continued to do her vulture like circling on Sly as she did so many times before to Amaya.
Familiar....
Cho ran her fingernails on the shoulders of Sly as she circled him, as was her usual intrusive manner. She seemed so comfortable with him and his creature, there wasn't usually this much touching with strangers. Not to say she wouldn't, but that she usually didn't.
"Its been a long time with you, too, hasn't it?" Cho then addressed Sly, finally sitting down at his feet between him and Amaya, blowing air into the mist and giggling.

Amaya and Cho

"Indeed, indeed, Sister. Sly here has missed your thousand lashes."
The laughter iced Amaya’s veins; the sound was unnatural and unnerving. But she had heard the likes of it before, in fact it sounded a lot like Cho whenever she would cry. It was as if the world itself were suffering with her, that it had to. She was certain that that was the way Cho thought it, that if Cho was not happy, no one was allowed to be happy. Maybe with her brother… Her brother?? The idea snapped into her head, she had just thought it automatically despite it being such an obscure thought. Well, he had called her ‘sister’ and they had such similarities, but it seemed such a quick conclusion to come to and be comfortable with the idea already. This was odd; maybe she had known the two before…
Amaya shook her head, no more thinking about it. She emptied her mind of the subject.
”Dinner’s Ready.” she heard through the hall, although she did not immediately respond. She heard others going towards the area, but continued to stare at the stranger. Cho seemed to be irritating the boy… What was his name? Did he mention it yet? Sly, thats what the creature had called him, maybe that was it. Either way, it was probably more impolite than not to continue speaking without an introduction.
”My name is Amaya.” she said, noticing the Sly's increasing scowl as Cho continued to probe him and his creature with giggles and her nails. It wouldn’t be too difficult to understand, though, if that thing truly was her brother. But then again, she told herself not to think about it.
”I am sorry for her. I would like to say that she isn’t normally like this, but I would be lying.” her voice was light hearted, but that didn’t stop Cho from taking offense.
”See? See how she treats me? I don’t know whos the real demon here, her or me. I can’t go five minutes without her insulting me. It’s unbearable.” Cho whined to Infernus, shooting a venomous look back at Amaya for ruining her all-too-fragile good mood. Oh well, not that it could be helped.
”How about some food?” Amaya offered to the entire group, standing and then departing before Sly had a chance to answer her. The air between them, if there had been anything in the past, would stay clearer without Cho making him miserable as she did to everyone around her with a male persuasion about them. She took to outside, seeing everyone at a table and taking a seat next to a boy in a pink sweater. Cho had followed her out of habit and the promise of food and took no pause to join at the table and float among everyone.
At the table was the Keeper of the Door, the Puppeteer, the boy in the pink sweater beside her, a boy she did not recognize, and a girl she did not recognize either. Cho must have recognized her, though, for Cho found it appropriate to go float across the table about an inch from her face and exclaim ”Hello, there, Shy One! I’ve missed you.” she then looked back to Amaya to add, ”This one listens to me when I talk.”
Amaya just looked at her, not knowing how to respond, after all, she didn’t know the girl herself. The boy next to her was blushing, almost as pink as his sweater. He looked so boyish, such a stark contrast from the other boy who was so…aged. He just looked dangerous. She was to watch him closely. This bunch was odd, she paused briefly to look back to see if Sly had followed her.

Red rocked back and forth in her chair as the one named Cho flew up to her, "Nice to see you again as yell." she said softly. Red picked up her newly filled glass of saki and took another sip before giving Cho a small smile which was cut short when Daemon kicked her under the table. Red's eyes twitched and she bit her lip before kicking him back. Daemon over exagerated the pain from her kicking her and threw himself out of his chair and onto the floor, rolling around like a lunatic. Red sighed, "please excuss him, he's missing a few brain cells the poor daemon." she said, running a hand through her hair.
